It might be tempting to buy the biggest bed possible to feather a luxurious nest. But doing this in a small space tends to cause a more cramped feel. Instead, choose a bed with small stature that won’t choke the room, such as an iron bed with a see-through headboard and footboard. Or pick a bed with no footboard at all, such as a platform or storage bed. Doing so will keep the middle of your room open, making it feel larger.
Decoration ideas for teenage girls’ bedroom are very different from for child’s style and adult taste. Decorating a bedroom for a teenage girl can be challenging. Every teen girl has her own style and taste, and wants their room to look picture perfect. We should decorate her bedroom in the color scheme of their favorites and with various accessories which would reflect her interests, personality and hobbies.
I love the luminousity of this bedroom. Huge windows and a total white background -even the ceiling beams have been painted in white- lights up all the space. Even if I love total white interiors, I think that some spots of colour can make a bedroom cosier. Here, I love the choice of dusty pink: it’s a trendy colour hue for this year and it goes well with most of colours. Also, pink is known as one of the most relaxing colours, so I think it’s perfect for a bedroom. (Grasshopper floor lamp and About a Lounge by Hay chair are always a great choice for a reading corner, love them in pink) One original architectural feature of this room, the mezzanine with bed on top: I’ve always been fascinated by low beds, but I’m not used to sleep close to the floor…so this is a good compromise! Just one thing I would add in this beautiful room: some linen curtains on that windows, here in Italy it’s not possible to think about a bedroom without curtains, you could just die of heat here in a mid summer morning! Arranging a small bedroom can be frustrating if you don’t first get an idea of where you would like everything to go. Before you call your friends to help you move your bed, grab a pencil and a piece of paper and sketch your roomlayout ideas. This will help you visualize your ideas before you put them into action.
I love how Martyn Lawrence Bullard combines vibrant colours with serenity and calm in this bedroom; a perfect setting for colour lovers, who want to wind down in a relaxed setting after a hard day’s work. The different textures, such as the fur throw and carpet provide a great contrast to the mirrored bedside tables, which makes the room dynamic and interesting. I also love the ethnic element (Ikat cushions) combined with the ‘Modern Glamour’ style, which gives the room a new dimension. And how great is the coffee table at the end of the bed? I don’t like bedside tables, that are full of books and magazines, so this provides a great stage option that prevents cluttering the room and at the same time looks great! Image credit
Both rooms look great. As the younger of two, I don’t think I had first choice ever. When I was still living with my parents after college, they added on to the house and again my brother got first choice but because he drug his feet, I got the space by default. I was all moved in in a day. lol I’m sure your girls will love their spaces and truly make it their own.
This chandelier mobile will look like something straight out of a movie, with all of the purple butterflies glowing and floating above the bed, turning the room into a truly magic scene when all the other lights are off. oopseydaisyblog.

A favorite poem becomes art in this little girl’s room. And you don’t have to be an artist to create your own word art. Look for stencils and wall decals at crafts stores and online. Make sure the color of the lettering contrasts with the wall color to ensure your message will read loud and clear.
A retro Seventies-style wallpaper makes a striking statement in this bedroom. Pick out tones from the wallpaper and choose block-coloured furniture and accessories in those colours – keeping these large pieces simple helps to break up the pattern and avoid a fussy finish. A white-framed mirror and black-and-white fashion print from the same era adds a classic touch.
This neat bedroom retreat is a great way to bridge the gap between a little girls room and a more grown-up bedroom style. The casual country style benefits from the mix-and-match of textiles, while the black metal bed frame rolls back the girliness of the scheme a little bit.
I love so much about this baby/toddler room interior. The bunting across the blind really sets a tone for the room and I love the lights hanging off of the ladder, they add a touch of warmth and cosiness to the room – which is exactly how every baby or child’s room should feel. I love that the floors and walls are bright. There’s a blue, white and grey theme which is fantastic because it suits a young baby as well as being grown up enough for a toddler. We’re re-doing our boys’ rooms this year and this image among others is where we’re taking inspiration from. I plan to use a light laminate floor like here and opt for light walls too, contrasting it by using colourful accessories. I think that when it comes to children’s interiors it’s fine to want to go modern, but it’s important to make sure that the room both reflects your child’s personality and is fun and young at the same time. The pink and cream in this room is a little girl’s dream. But the sophisticated armoire and chandelier mean that it will suit her for years to come, and can be easily updated by changing the bedding and accessories.
This dresser area is all about Disney’s Aladdin with its rich purple and gold tones as well as little statue and hanging decorations. Using pretty gold necklaces as curtain ties will add a different touch, enhance the theme and obviously keep the mirror visible. homeliteracyblueprint.
