Hi, I am 13 almost 14 and in this next 2018 April or summer I will be moving. I have always shared a room, but I will have my own room. I never thought of having my own room and want it to be great. These are all super pretty and cool. But I just don’t know what kind of room I want, like what style or theme, it’s all so crazy. But these are great. They help me think of what I want. But I don’t know. I don’t know if you can help me, but thanks!

This is a great choice for a teenage girl’s bedroom, as having a separate desk and vanity cuts into valuable room real estate in all but the largest bedrooms. The fluffy fur rug makes the area more hospitable and creates clear definition of where the space begins and ends, turning it into one element of the whole room. Pumpkin wants a peachy pink and brown cowgirl theme. We need to paint for sure. She will likely need new curtains and maybe some new bedding for her as well. Of course we need to put in the sliding door. We also have plans and ideas for a rope wall feature.

Your daughter’s nightly homework assignments will grow right along with her. Every school-age child needs a desk for study time. The simple desk fronted by a large bulletin board shown here is the perfect spot to study. But what really makes this room special is the adorable wall décor – and it’s a snap to duplicate. Just fill in the space over the headboard with a colorful and wonderfully patterned wallpaper. It’s an easy DIY, and you’ll probably only need one roll of paper.

Bedding can make or break a space, especially in a tween girl’s room where anything too cute can be too juvenile and anything too highbrow can be too adult. Instead of traditional florals, add an updated touch to a tween girl’s bedscape with overscale botanical prints.

Make tidying up more fun with pretty fabric storage boxes slotted into a white-painted unit. A large scale wall sticker picks up on the colours of the boxes to turn the storage area into a focal point.

Keeping the walls white in a girl’s bedroom will give you more decorating flexibility, which will help keep up with her constantly changing style. Have fun mixing and matching: Combine pink and red and introduce graphic prints and florals.

I absolutely love this bedroom and it has actually inspired my own bedroom http://markets.post-gazette.com/postgazette/news/read/35871325 The bold use of indigo is classy and sophisticated and creates a sleep-inducing atmosphere. If you have a platform bed, create custom headboard by simply applying a material to the wall behind the bed. In the bedroom below, we applied a wood paneling to the wall behind the bed to create a custom headboard. The dark stained wood finish complements the platform bed color and ties it and the night stands together visually. You can make your headboard the full height of the wall or stop it part way up. To determine the minimum height for your headboard, prop up your pillows and measure 6”-8” (15-20 cm) above that.

Bee a little eccentric with a wacky honeycomb themed wall. This unconventional design is perfect for a teen girl who wants room ideas that feature lots of colors. A ranging color palette might otherwise overwhelm a room, but done in a funky way like this, a bevy of colors is more quirky than overpowering. The progression along the color gradient from fully saturated to white contributes to this virtue, a technique easily replicated by mixing in increasing amounts of white paint as you move down the wall.

HGTV fan lolabboutique ditched the usual little girl decor and created an antique, cottage-style bedroom that can easily work for all ages. To add a personalized and playful touch to any little girl’s bedroom, find unique representations of the letters that spell her name or her first initial. I love the diversity in this post. You can find inspiration for everything – from cosy and snuggly bedrooms to dark and mysterious ones. I prefer the cottage/farmhouse look in my home, though I live in a patio apartment. The bedroom above is typical of how I decorate. I’m really into the black, red, gray and white color combination. Also, this bedroom has a lot of textural elements that give it character and charm. The rug on the floor. And the wicker trunk at the end of the bed. I also love anything vintage, and having a piece of furniture that perhaps belonged to grandma fits right in. The red blanket on the wicker trunk looks handy to pull up when you’re reading a book or taking an afternoon nap. My blog is about coziness – so my rooms have to include that element to encompass all that I love about decorating. This is a cozy room. And that’s what I love most about it. Image credit

Just because your space is small does not mean your pieces can’t be large. Use a monochromatic color scheme because it creates an illusion for the eyes. Choose one color family and select variations of it for the largest parts of your rooms. Natural light will also be your friend. Use sheer window treatments or leave them off entirely. Consider furnishings that have multiple purposes. And always, create a space you love!

Plush carpets work well for bedrooms. Although they offer comfort and luxury, carpets are dust traps and have to be cleaned regularly. Stains can be difficult to remove and they are not durable as hardwood floors. If you choose to use hardwood flooring, be sure to invest in good quality area rugs as they can help to soften the look of the bedroom and add warmth. Tiles are another option, and work well in hot climate regions, as they help to keep the place cool. Vinyl and laminate flooring are also options worth considering for the bedroom.
