teen room tumblr decor for a turquoise and yellow girls bedroom

For Emma Bridgewater and her husband Matthew Rice, a shared desire to preserve skills and traditions has influenced their booming ceramics business, as well as the restoration of their farmhouse and barn in Oxfordshire. As here, the bedroom retains the original stonework.

This room has a beautiful vintage/industrial style. A bedroom to me is a place to rest and to surround myself with calmness. This needs to be reflected in the decor. Nothing should draw too much attention. It needs to be laid back, full of natural materials, casual and cosy.

Choosing the right rug for a tween space can be tough since their tastes change so frequently. While light-colored solid rugs are prone to showing spills, stains or dirt, textured solids are great for hiding imperfections. This black, white and gray wool rug helps tie the black and white accents of the color scheme together while also offering a soft underfoot surface.

Bedding can make or break a space, especially in a tween girl’s room where anything too cute can be too juvenile and anything too highbrow can be too adult. Instead of traditional florals, add an updated touch to a tween girl’s bedscape with overscale botanical prints.

Hi Courtney! Wow, what a great site you have here! So many awesome ideas in one place. My daughter started college this year, and when she gets a chance to come home we are going to the tie-dyed pillows for her dorm room. Thanks so much for the great ideas and keep up the good work! ?

Designer and HGTV Star Tiffany Brooks mixed bright floral prints with a plaid headboard and fuchsia accessories to achieve a fun yet sophisticated look in this stylish space. A large potted Fiddle Leaf Fig tree adds organic warmth and interest to the cozy bedside seating area.

I love a crisp, clean, modern bedroom like this one from NylonPinksy. I love to switch up an ‘expected’ design of a space, with something unexpected like using two different lamps on the nightstands (as in this photo).

In this London house designed by Suzy Hoodless, the children’s rooms were kept graphic and simple; Suzy hates ‘cute’ decoration that they will quickly grow out of – she has used a Børge Mogensen cabinet as a changing table in her own home. So the only concession she made to the children’s ages was bright primary colour. In one of the rooms a custom-designed mural has been painted on the wardrobe door.

In this flat designed by Tom Bartlett of Waldo Works, the back wall of the main bedroom is papered in a striking green de Gournay wallpaper. The dramatic design makes a wonderful feature wall.
