Although your bedroom color scheme is often a personal opinion, there are some paint colors that are more relaxing and better suited for your sleeping area. Studies have found that people with blue bedrooms often get more sleep because of the calmness it elicits. Brighter colors may lead to a better mood, but they also might keep you up longer at night. If you have a significant other with opposing tastes, consider master bedroom colors falling within the neutral range — such as variations of green, gray or brown — to keep everyone happy. Sharing many bedroom pictures that you’ve saved to your ideabook can be a great way to help your significant other get a sense of your bedroom remodeling ideas.

My recipe for a cool children’s bedroom involves 3 main ingredients: great storage, blackboard paint and amazing lights. I love this room because it works just as well for girls as it does for boys. The rock star/monochrome theme is always age appropriate – very important because in my experience kids grow. Fast! The hip industrial vibe is den-like and softened with tactile furs, comforting checks and a cosy rug. Extra twinkling lights at ceiling height add a bit of fairytale magic and nobody grows out of sleeping under the stars, right? On the other side of this room I’d install a bank of full height cupboards to hide all the cargo that comes with every child and also has a habit of growing with them. Mini rock stars might prefer a cabin bed or bunks and some extra spots and stripes in the form of soft furnishings would provide the X factor for me. im a teenager, and for me i personally like alot of these designs, there not all stereotypical. but it does seem like an old woman has made them and she doesnt really know what teenagers like. so maybe she should get some input from real teenagers

I adore these room ideas for young girls. Some are for a little younger girl but my favorite has to be the one with the Audrey Hepburn picture on the wall. Its trendy, flirty, and girly. These ideas are so different I could see many personalities being able to shine through with them.

There isn’t a magic trick to the layout of the small bedroom. “There’s usually an obvious main wall to put the bed, and I don’t like to get too clever as far as placement—like floating the bed frame in the middle of the room or at an angle in the corner,” says Humphrey. The designer also suggests placing the bed in the center of the main wall, rather than pushing one side up against the adjacent wall. “Having room to walk on either side is key not only for room flow but also to give you space to make your bed, if you’re into that sorta thing,” he says.

Consider introducing fun filled low cost novelties such as bean bags in jelly beans colors, bright colored bedding, funky lamps, attractive book stands or holders, vibrant window treatments, photo frames, etc. Alternatively, you may also spruce up things by employing distinct items for decoration such as a guitar, a golf stick, skateboard, old posters, trophies and mementos, artificial plants, etc. Also ensure to spread a bright rug on the floor as it is extremely useful for doing miscellaneous tasks.{pics from decorati, pbteen}.

Building your little girl a Princess Bedroom makes them feel loved and special, and it helps bring magic into their lives. And while fairytale princesses can make use of all of the realm’s gold to put together their dream bedrooms, you don’t need a huge budget to make pink fantasies come to life.

Make tidying up more fun with pretty fabric storage boxes slotted into a white-painted unit. A large scale wall sticker picks up on the colours of the boxes to turn the storage area into a focal point.

Brighten up a neutral children’s room with splashes of colour. Chunky pink letters are mounted on the wall and delicate butterflies hang from the ceiling, giving the scheme an extra girly touch. Keep clutter to a minimum with a storage unit in playful colours.

My belief is that a bedroom should be clean and simple. We spend so much time in our bedrooms trying to unwind from the day. That’s why we should create a serene space for ourselves. This bedroom is both serene and cool. The black and white palette proves that you don’t have to have a lot of colour to stand out. Image credit

I adore white painted walls and then really experimenting with pattern and colour in the soft furnishings and bedroom accessories. Floral patterns are always a favourite of mine for a feminine look and the brighter the colours the better. The informal group of pretty postcards fixed with washi tape is super cute and I like being able to easily change the display to suit my mood and the season. The look is a little bit granny chic so suits my love of hunting for eclectic items in charity shops. Even on a dull day this bedroom would cheer me up. Image credit

Even a small space can have an airy, open vibe when your palette is mostly white with just one cheery accent color. Notice how easy it is to mix patterns when they share the same two colors; the striped rug, small floral comforter, and larger floral horse chandelier for sale don’t feel busy or overwhelming even though the room is very small.

If pink and purple don’t suit your child, look for girl’s room paint ideas that incorporate neutral hues or shades of blue. Gray wallpaper provides a blank canvas in this shared kid’s bedroom, allowing blue painted bunk beds and orange bedding to take center stage.

A large, skinny room is perfect for a row of twin beds at a beach house where lots of little ones come to visit. This one in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, also features an upstairs loft with even more sleeping space.
