It’s hard to believe that this is the same room in the same house. Black and white horizontal stripes elongate the sweet space, giving a greater sense of width. With a cute little crib and star-studded ceiling, we imagine that Benjamin, now two, is sleeping just fine.

We want to eventually put in sliding closet doors for her closet. We still have the original doors, but they are two doors that swing open. When we used to have them in this room, they were forever knocking into the door to the room and it was just a pain. I think sliding doors are the way to go.

Larger products, such as beds and head boards, must be chosen with the concept that they will continue to serve the child for a number of even more years. Wooden headboards are usually the most effective selection for boys. When boys are young, wood head boards can quickly function as the background for a nautical theme or cowboy style; both which are typically quite preferred with young boys. When he outgrows these motifs wood headboards can easily be incorporated right into a more mature theme, specifically with making use of dark strong colors and also plaids.

If a little shine isn’t enough for you or your little girl, then you should totally make a pink glittery wall like you see here. Don’t worry, you won’t need to handle the stuff – there are glitter paints available for projects like this. eatcraftparent.

as a 15 year old. i would say a lot of these rooms look like they were designed by some 40 year old women who loves photography, and the outdoors and lives in uptown new jersey. there pathetic. some of them are cute for maybe 10 year olds but they look way to modern and boring.

Lots of kids want a rainbow-bright bedroom, and why not? If your daughter loves color, but not necessarily all pink, keep the floors, the furniture and the walls (other than perhaps one accent wall) neutral, and then go wild on the bedding, small furnishings and accessories. A crazy-bright accent wall mural is another fun touch that works in a child’s space, but is too much for the master bedroom. This adorable room was found on Craft-O-Maniac.

Your daughter’s nightly homework assignments will grow right along with her. Every school-age child needs a desk for study time. The simple desk fronted by a large bulletin board shown here is the perfect spot to study. But what really makes this room special is the adorable wall décor – and it’s a snap to duplicate. Just fill in the space over the headboard with a colorful and wonderfully patterned wallpaper. It’s an easy DIY, and you’ll probably only need one roll of paper.

Bedrooms should be calming and seductive spaces, and this bedroom ticks both those boxes.  It has a calming, neutral pallet that is kept interesting through a mix of textures – wooden floors and ceiling, the white-painted brick wall, a sisal rug, a glamorous fur throw, and the marble bedside table.  The painted black wall adds another layer of luxury and glamour to this space, but the large, simple artwork keeps it from being too dark.  Interest to this monotone colour scheme is also brought in through the architectural style of lighting, and the pattern in the cushions.  All in all a perfect combination! Image credit

If you thought a small master bedroom couldn’t be every inch the equal in elegance to those huge rooms you see on Pinterest or in glossy interior decorating magazines, one look at Steven Ford Interior’s gorgeous navy blue, cream, and gray bedroom will change your mind. Stunning.

personally i think they should be more realistic about the room sizes most kids dont have a room the size of these. and i personally dont like have of these rooms they look to grown up or kinda kidish.

As tween girls become full-fledged teenagers, it’s likely they’ll be using their bedrooms for overnight fun with friends. Add drama and ambiance for nighttime use with vintage wall sconces. Often priced much lower than chandeliers, sconces are installed directly to walls and may need to be rewired prior to installation. To ensure safety, most interior designers recommend dropping off vintage sconces at local lamp repair shops where fixtures can be brought up to code for as little as $25.

Bring a little nature into your room with silk plants, animal statuettes and baskets. Faux succulents require no care but add garden beauty to shelves and windowsills. Glass tabletop terrariums do well in a partially shaded area, like on a desk in front of a window or on a graduated set of shelves against a bedroom wall. Accent the look with country-inspired wall-hangings like longhorns and guitar case shelves. Finalize the theme with a few brightly colored fabric tapestries for a country-inspired bedroom that’s every bit as fresh as the outdoors. Hanging a few of your favorite art pieces is also an excellent way to decorate.

Decorating a girl’s bedroom could be enjoyable as well as easy as several little women have the tendency to favor specific style elements. Butterflies and blossoms tend to show up in numerous decorating schemes; however, a variety of ladies also like character styles. The ever before prominent princess style is regularly a hit.

Country style bedrooms: Neutral shades for painted walls are essential for country style bedrooms, and white with a hint of lilac, blue or green helps to create a softer look. Floral printed bedroom wallpaper works well on feature walls too. Pine or all white furniture are popular choices for the country style.

The dream bedroom for teens, black comforter with large pink flowers on it and gold stars on the wall. Where did that comforter and sham set come from?? M daughter loves it and I cannot seem to find anything similar. Beautiful room!

If you’ve spent time and money carefully creating two-tone paint effects like this, and refurnishing a kids bedroom, you’re probably not going to be that keen for your teen daughter to pin posters directly on the wall… not that we’re being design control freaks or anything. Try fixing picture ledges at staggered heights on the wall above the bed and layering up framed prints and photos of your teen’s choice for a personal and art display. The images – and therefore the space – can be updated as frequently as she wants.

I prefer the cottage/farmhouse look in my home, though I live in a patio apartment. The bedroom above is typical of how I decorate. I’m really into the black, red, gray and white color combination. Also, this bedroom has a lot of textural elements that give it character and charm. The rug on the floor. And the wicker trunk at the end of the bed. I also love anything vintage, and having a piece of furniture that perhaps belonged to grandma fits right in. The red blanket on the wicker trunk looks handy to pull up when you’re reading a book or taking an afternoon nap. My blog is about coziness – so my rooms have to include that element to encompass all that I love about decorating. This is a cozy room. And that’s what I love most about it. Image credit

Vintage themed décor is one of the best teenage bedroom ideas that you can use for your girls. The typical pastel pallet along with vintage floral design on the upholsteries and curtains will add a subtle feminine and elegant element to the entire room décor. To enhance the theme of the room, you can add ottomans and other furniture upholstered in fabrics that give off a vintage hue.

Sometimes, words of encouragement are exactly what you need to start the day smiling. Hang our wall art lettering up and remind yourself to stay happy as you shine through your day. Bling it up with flashy glitter letters in sayings like peace, or take it down a notch and just hang your name on the back of your bedroom door. Some options, like our heart-shaped cabinet, provide functionality too.

Eventually, the sort of bed which you choose should be straightened with your individual style. If you occur to have a deep enchanting streak, you might wish to pick a canopy style bed. While canopy beds with 4 posters are amongst one of the most typical options, there likewise several various other choices available on the market also. For instance, you might want to pick a crown canopy, which does not use as much enclosure, yet still gives the hint of draping.

Give the structured canopy bed a bohemian update with a more relaxed approach that’s ideal for a teen girls bedroom. White walls and dark wooden furniture offer a neutral base for ethnic-print blinds, bed linen and a makeshift canopy draped over two ceiling-hung poles. A fresh blue or forget-me-not hued base draws together the varied prints, while a spearmint green reading lamp beside the bed freshens the relaxed, deconstructed look.

For houses tight on space but not on property, yurts (heavy-duty circular tents) can provide extra sleeping quarters for guests. Furnish with high-quality indoor furniture to make the small room feel like an extension of the house.

Pastel colors are always a top choice for a child’s room, and they can look amazing on furniture as well as the walls. The blue and baby pink look quite beautiful alongside each other in this dresser. projectnursery.

This is a gorgeous example of a modern bohemian bedroom, achieving a relaxed and simple yet cosy atmosphere. I love how the dark navy walls finish just shy of the ceiling, adding the sense of height and drama with the fabulous pendant over the bed. A hanging rattan chair with sheepskin looks like a perfect place to swing on whilst reading your papers in the morning with a coffee, and THAT giant fig leaf tree adds a powerful punch of green, and the all important link to nature. Image credit

If space is at a premium in your little one’s room, try pushing the bed against a wall. With the bed out of the way, she’ll have plenty of play space on the floor—which will also prevent toys from cluttering up your living spaces. An upholstered queen-size headboard along the bedside creates the look of a daybed and keeps kids safe from rolling between the bed and the wall while they sleep.

Anyone who reads my blog will know that I ADORE dark, moody, inky walls so this bedroom image caught my attention immediately! Pairing that gorgeous deep teal paint with the rose pinks gives the room a feminine touch without it being ‘too girly’. The off-centered image gives a quirky touch and the white frame contrasts beautifully against the dark background making the image pop all the more. The teal blanket beautifully ties in with the paint, brightening the space, and the marble print cushion adds texture and is perfectly on trend! This bedroom is a grown up, beautifully modern, luxurious space that I would love to sink into. The only thing I would change would be the size of the headboard, the bigger the headboard the better in my eyes! Image credit

Even a small space can have an airy, open vibe when your palette is mostly white with just one cheery accent color.

HOLA QUIERO SABER SI QUEDA LA SIGUIENTE COMBINACIóN DE PINTURA. LA HABITACION ES DE 3 X 3 TENGO EL TECHO DE COLOR CELESTE CLARO Y LAS PAREDES DE COLOR MARFIL Y LAS MAYOLICAS DEL PISO SON CELESTES. AGRADECERE ME PUEDA AYUDAR

If you’re a ‘less is more’ person then this is the bedroom scheme for you. The key is in keeping colours muted but the furniture interesting – the four-poster bed has presence and works well with the high ceilings in this room; anything less and the room may feel bare.

Feeling studious? A simple desk and an upholstered chair from Robert Kime creates a study area in the corner of this bedroom. The bedroom is elegant in its simplicity. The curtains are unlined with aquamarine silk from Claremont, with an inner curtain of linen. ‘When the sun shines, I draw the curtains, which throws a luminous light everywhere,’ says the owner. A unique chest of drawers with a sketch of a columned building livens up the bedside in this London home designed by Freddy van Zevenbergen. Freddy says the owner ‘wanted it to feel a bit like Loulou’s,’ Robin Birley’s louche-luxe private members’ club in Mayfair, which Lambart & Browne designed in 2012.

For interior designer Charlotte Crosland and the owner of this reconfigured central London flat, a shared vision has resulted in generously comfortable rooms accented with splashes of colour. In this spare room, the vibrant decoration includes a yellow Volga blanket and a painted antique chest of drawers from Myriad.

Sometimes there’s much to be gleaned from the design of a good hotel room. This one the Playa Grande Beach Club is painted in what it’s owner calls, ‘faded bathing-suit colours’, and layered with art, objects and vintage furnishings. The bed forms the focal point of a perfectly symmetrical tableau of furniture, starting with the wall mounted lamps and side tables and culminating with the bamboo sofa, coffee table and string chairs which form an appealing seating area for morning coffee and newspapers.

This blend of pink and purple is perfect for little girl’s bedroom colors that will grow with the child. Give the feminine shades a unique twist with thoughtful application. Pair it with soft neutrals and hints of periwinkle for a classic-meets-glam vibe. This room’s lavender walls, window treatments, and throw pillows work well for a teen, and later on it can suit a guest room. The classic furniture pieces suit either purpose, and simple switches can introduce more subdued accent colors.

Give children’s rooms a grown up feel with a chic feature wall. In this scheme, a pink flock wallpaper injects instant glamour to the look. It’s teamed with a white day bed, which doubles up as a sofa – ideal for smaller schemes. When asked whether she and Bunny felt intimidated, Emma’s response is: ‘Dom understands the value of interior design – and what other man would be happy with a pink bedroom?’ ‘Everyone was quite surprised that I jumped on the pink,’ says Dominic.

Could anything be cosier than a built-in bed cubby? We’ve seen some cool bedrooms before, but this dream design from a real home in Chalk Farm, London had us reaching for the ‘Pin it’ button on Pinterest at record speed.

With the distressed wood of the floor and walls, this room needs little else to give it character and warmth. Netural tones, natural textures and a touch of colour from a pretty patterned bed spread are a subtle but welcome addition.

I absolutely love this bedroom and it has actually inspired my own bedroom makeover. The bold use of indigo is classy and sophisticated and creates a sleep-inducing atmosphere. Blue is a very calming and soothing colour to use in the bedroom and can aid restful sleep. The use of chunky knits, Damask prints and patterned cushions adds to the cosy feel of this room. Image credit

Planes, trains and automobiles: the duvet covers, wall stickers and underbed boxes all draw on this theme. Good storage ensures the room is kept tidy but a simple chalk/pin board allows for a little creativity and a place to display treasured possessions.

Try this little girl’s room idea for a shared bedroom or a bedroom with space for sleepovers. A curved design prevents the white built-in bunks from feeling bulky, while a smattering of carpet tiles add bright, fun color and soften the room’s flooring. Using carpet tiles is a smart move with girls that love to do arts and crafts; if there is a permanent stain on one tile, simply replace it.

Once you’ve found the right size bed, it’s time to choose your style. If you’re looking to make a contemporary statement, an oversized headboard will make a striking focal point to your bedroom scheme. Love traditional or country style? A beautifully upholstered headboard  will work like a charm. If you’re a fan of industrial chic or vintage finds, an iron bedframe might be just what you’re after.

David and Lizzie Currie discovered Lucy Ford, a decorator after their own hearts, who transformed their bland west London house into a stylish home to suit their family lifestyle. Classic-boat enthusiast Katie Fontana’s love of pure craftsmanship and aesthetic simplicity resulted in the bespoke kitchen design company Plain English as well a charming houseboat and boathouse where she lives when she is in London. The ex-Customs and Excise cutter called Stork is moored in St Katharine Docks, E1. ‘In 2008, shortly after our father died, my sister and I were in Maldon, Essex, where he lived, Katie explains. We spotted Stork for sale and thought she looked cute. When I noticed she was built in 1926, the year my father was born, it felt like a sign, so I bought her as a little place to stay when I was in London. The interior had been Ikea-ed, and wasn’t really to my taste, but I knew if I covered it all in Farrow & Ball paint it would be fine. One day, I’d like to give her a full authentic refit. For now, she’s a bit of fun.’

Originally, Claire intended to do the decoration of the house herself. ‘Rather naively, I thought it would be enjoyable. To begin, I went to a Graham & Green warehouse sale somewhere on the A40. It was a complete bun fight and I felt totally overwhelmed. I came back with one armchair that now lives in the playroom and said to Dom, We are going to need help.’

Want to add some colour to your space? Don’t have the budget for a full makeover? A rug, a nightstand and some fresh flowers can transform a space from neutral to technicolour like that *snaps fingers*.

A cozy, pillow-lined window seat is the perfect spot for a teen girl to write, read or imagine. This sweet seat is flanked by pretty white and gold sconces for easy-access reading light and a small side table to hold drinks and snacks. It also doubles as chic built-in storage!

Since moving into her husband’s Wiltshire farmhouse, designer Sarah Vanrenen has enhanced its quirky charm, with an adjusted layout and unexpected colours. The embroidered linen bedspread was bought at a flea market in France, the rug came from Morocco and an Uzbek tribal coat hangs on the wall.

In order for bed drapery to hang properly, it’s best to install it on ceiling-mounted hardware. These black-and-white zigzag drapery panels coordinate perfectly with a wraparound track and drapery rings in a satin black finish.

In this glamorous bedroom at Soho House Berlin, furniture is scaled up for the vast rooms. (note the unusually tall headboard.) Designer Susie Atkinson chose bold colours: burgundy and Dorothy Draper-inspired turquoise.

I absolutely adore decorating my children’s bedrooms from their nursery start to their teenage finish, as each stage requires something different. We are in the school-boy phase at the moment with my son so we wanted to create a bedroom for him that showcased his personality as much as his age. We chose a daybed here with underneath drawer storage for his clothes and a pull bed to turn it into a double bed, if he had a sleepover. I like to choose a theme that won’t over-power a room and one that can grow with him too. We went for a red and navy theme with a London twist. I like to keep the bedrooms neutral and when it’s time to change the theme you don’t also have to change the wallpaper and furniture too. Kids enjoy space to roam free so I don’t like it to be cluttered too much with more furniture. My son doesn’t have a dresser as we have plenty of space in these drawers under his bed and in his wardrobe. This leaves more space for his toys and room to play. I think the best thing to do is think of how you can make the space functional for your little one that screams his/her personality but in a way they can love it and grow with it over the years with minimal changes.

wow well i really like the roonz and all but you people who dont u guyz are all haterz if ur gonna talk crap then talk crap stop sayin NO OFFENSE and if you cant afford any of the stuff sorry to say this but why u lookin on this website JUST SAYIN!!!!!!!!!!!

The elementary-school years… they’re a delight. No longer an infant or toddler requiring middle-of-the-night care, but not yet a teen with a corresponding attitude, the elementary-age child, for the most part, is full of fun, love and whimsy. A sense of timelessness combined with simplicity and sophistication characterises Arnaud Zannier’s collection of hotels, as well as his shoe business. It is a design ethos reflected in his family home near Ghent. Refined and relaxed, the home echews trneds and adopts classic style instead. Exposed wooden beams, full of knots and character, envelop the room and the bed, giving it a cosy cabin feel.

In this London house designed by Suzy Hoodless, the children’s rooms were kept graphic and simple; Suzy hates ‘cute’ decoration that they will quickly grow out of – she has used a Børge Mogensen cabinet as a changing table in her own home. So the only concession she made to the children’s ages was bright primary colour. In one of the rooms a custom-designed mural has been painted on the wardrobe door.

Four-poster beds with pale pink bedding and ‘Mistletoe’ muslin create the perfect country bedroom. Being well-versed in decorating country homes, Fiona Shelburne knew she wanted to turn this Hampshire house into a family-orientated home. She used an English country-house style with a contemporary twist to create a cosy family space. The twin four-poster beds follow this traditional style while adding height to the room. The ‘Mistletoe’ muslin from Simon Playle adds light and playfulness to the space; the curtains are in ‘Delphos Aqua’ from Jane Churchill.

In the main bedroom of Ed and Polly Nicholson’s Wiltshire home, an eighteenth-century lacquered chest, which provides a contrasting tone, stands between windows with curtains in ‘Secret Garden’ by Raoul Textiles.

I’m 13 and I like to say that these layouts, ideas for bedrooms are great. Considering the fact that i have a big bedroom. I do agree with you Olivia 12 is the best, I love that they are not afraid of putting a little spot up there to chill or even to just sit there and enjoy time. It may be hard to believe that I have a room that big but it is very true.

Love the recessed lighting over the bed and the headboard and the end of bed sofa Create a daring aesthetic in your master bedroom with the use of different lighting fixtures for each part of the room. Seen in Heritage at Crabapple, an Atlanta community.

Detailing and subtlety of colour are trademarks of designer John Minshaw’s interiors, and the barn conversion he shares with wife Susie illustrates this perfectly. The bedroom pairs William Yeoward bedlinen with a blue headboard and black furniture.

Ideally, a bedroom should be a clean, minimal space for you to unwind in, but I also love how creativity has crept into this Scandi interior. Full of personality, this scrapbook/shelving arrangement complements the DIY aesthetic of the room and accompanies the hanging bulb light fixture perfectly. Framed pictures are non-existent but instead, a quick fix of inspirational imagery taped to the wall is the ultimate effortless decorative feature. I like how black accents can be detected from the tape, light and bedside table; bringing all of the decorations together, but still harnessing that spontaneous element. Image credit

Banqueta de Osborne & Little.

Why I love this room: I’m a great believer in the ‘tidy home, tidy mind’ ethos, which is why I feel so at home with light, minimal spaces. This bedroom has only essential furniture in it and bright white walls to make the most of the light. Texture is key, from the bedding and rugs to the Z1 cotton lamp. I love the use of the small potted plants here, adding life and a splash of vibrant green to the room. The light wood flooring breaks up the white to introduce some warmth and the suspended clothes rails make a statement without the need to take up floor space. Image credit

The power of three. If you keep the rest of your room plain, have three statement touches to make the room pop. Here, it’s the artwork above the bed, the pink pillowcases and the bright stools. Simple, no?

The main bedroom of Charles Rutherfoord and Rupert Tyler’s London home is on the first floor. The minamilist space features little else but a bed, a deer hide rug, a taxidermy jaguar and an armchair by Pierre Paulin. Single-pane windows make the most of the garden views.

‘We needed somewhere we could live and work, with undeveloped buildings in which we could photograph catalogues, and with land for animals and a potential for a garden,’ says Matthew. They found the rundown farmhouse, Ham Court, which had once been the gatehouse to Bampton Castle. The property, on the edge of Bampton village and surrounded by 30 acres of land, provided them with an irresistible opportunity to breathe romance back into a series of neglected and derelict buildings.

We love the combination of styles in this room, from paisley print bedding to a geometric rug to a sixties style light and swing chair. Also note how the bed is located in the middle of the room – a styling idea to steal perhaps?

When I began Benji’s room, it was all about getting to know him. Benji has a twin brother so I wanted to make sure when designing their rooms that their different personalities were expressed.  I soon found out that Benji’s favourite color was blue, so blue was a must. I also found out that Benji was interested in travel, the world, and had a very inquisitive mind. These two details were then the theme for my design. I used a large blue rug so that blue was prominent in his room but I didn’t want it to be dark and dreary so I chose a yellow to lift the blue and then used accents of both blue and yellow around the room. To inspire his travel goals, I added a world map on one wall and commissioned a small hand painted compass mural on another wall. I love this space as it’s light, bright, stylish and still reflects Benji’s fun, adventurous personality

When searching flea markets for dressers, keep in mind that nine-drawer and 12-drawer configurations offer enough concealed storage not only for holding clothes, but also for keeping things like books and diaries neatly organized yet out of sight. As tween girls start to yearn for privacy, it’s wise to supply them with storage for things they don’t want out on display.

There are few places where a teen can express themselves unabashedly. The bedroom is the top choice. The beauty of being a teenager is that the world is their oyster. Their favorite things are diverse and sometimes discordant, but with some planning, all ideas can tie together beautifully.

Serena Foyle, a music designer for firework displays divides her time between her home in Edinburgh and her family’s Cadogan Square flat in London where she lives with her artist brother William. A portrait of Serena, her sister Antonia and as children, by artist Dick Smyly, hangs in Serena’s bedroom.

Moody, masculine & deliciously unconventional, Scott Newkirk’s New York bedroom is my idea of the perfect retreat. I love the way he has skilfully coupled a restrained & muted palette with a medley of textural layers from metal & woods to linen, wool & length-upon-length of natural burlap. He has created a surprisingly luxurious getaway which is both atmospheric & calming. Image credit

The furniture was found at Swoon Editions, including the low, mid-century modern rosewood media unit and bedside table. The bedding was bought from Anthropologie and the lighting from Urban Cottage Industries.

Proof that you can make the functional beautiful is this mosquito-net-draped bed at the Segera eco retreat in Kenya, started by businessman and entrepreneur Jochen Zeitz, a passionate advocate of conservation and sustainable tourism.

The colours are peaceful and pleasant, as they are throughout the house. ‘Above all, I wanted the colours to be calm; this pale colour palette makes a narrow house seem less claustrophobic and fussy, and meant that I could add pattern through the other textiles.’

After visiting her friend Kathryn Ireland in France’s Tarn region, Anne Halsey bought a French farmhouse retreat there and enlisted the help of the decorator to create a relaxed space perfect for entertaining. This double guest room mixes different colours while sticking to the same gingham pattern (see the lamp shade, blanket and padded headboard), making for a colourful, chic and coordinated space.

Transforming this tiny attic room into a children’s room for two required some ingenuity. Enter Kate Earle of Todhunter Earle who designed these overlapping bunk beds as a clever space-saving solution.

This is a photo of my 8 year old son’s room, styled and photographed by myself. It’s a modern Breton themed bedroom.  I styled this bedroom in the autumn to bring a fresh, bright and happy feel to the room. I made sure that a cosy feel is maintained, with the soft throw on the bed for bedtime tucking in and the cushion for casual lounging. Everything is positioned conveniently, such as the comforting bedside light, an accessible bedside table for his drink and storage below his table for toys. Next to his bed is a laundry bag which encourages tidiness. To the right of his bed is a large shelf of favourite books, recently converted to his workspace. To the left of his bed is an empty area for running around with friends. Image courtesy of Gerladine Tan.

The main bedroom in designer Paul de Zwart’s Kensal Rise home cleverly combines decorative details with storage; a chest of drawers built into the alcove is made from the same material as the wall cladding. The two ‘Leggera’ chairs from Giò Ponti add colour.

To give your master bedroom a lasting, stately design, consider investing in a built-in closet-organization system. These can be customized to your space and needs. If you prefer a less-permanent solution, open shelving can give the space a modern feel. A foot trunk also works if your taste veers toward the traditional.

Small bedrooms are often short on storage, so take advantage of every inch of wasted space. Antique dough bowls, large baskets, plastic bins or rolling drawers create easy-to-use extra storage under your bed. Helpful Hint: Save even more space by filling your containers with items sealed in vacuum space bags. Photo courtesy by Janice Donlan.

Definitely prefer the classic looking bedrooms to modern. Although the modern bedrooms look artistic and clean, they look too cold for my taste. I like soft, warm colors rather than bold and bright ones for bedrooms. I think it’s because brighter colors make me feel more awake, but when I am in a bedroom I want to relaxed and be calm. When I was a little girl I had a canopy bed — the hangings always made me feel like I was a princess in a fairytale or something. Fast forward 30 years later, and I still want to feel that way…my bedroom is decorated with Victorian accent pieces from LookInTheAttic. They restore heirloom pieces and do custom finishing. I am quite happy with my bedroom, but my daughter is the complete opposite from me — she wants to have bright pink polka dots all over her room. What do you say people? Should I give in?

Even better, use sleek, contemporary built-ins for additional storage. Built-ins maximize storage while looking like they’re not even there. A good built-in around your bed creates a cozy sleeping nook while adding plenty of storage.

Before we get started on the various prints, patterns and colour palettes to consider, we need to address the double bed vs single bed debate that might be raging in your home; this teen bedroom furniture argument is not as unusual as you might think – sales of single beds have dropped significantly in the last few years as teens’ beds become islands where they sleep, chat, watch TV and even do their homework. Whatever you decide, and with available space clearly the defining factor, the decorating ideas for teen girls rooms in this gallery can be adapted to suit either single or double bedrooms.

I love these neat ideas they always have me thinking about what I could have when I grow up or for my kids !It gives me a percpection of what I am going to do when I grow up!I like these ideas for teens.Although there should be ranges for low class middle class….Like cheap ways to make bedrooms fir teens looking amazing to were they will. Scandinavian style bedrooms: Scandinavian style bedrooms are characterised by their simplicity, functionality and elegance. Earthy tones, beige and grey are juxtaposed with white painted walls. Hardwood floors can also be painted white and large wooden ottomans and vintage trunks are placed at the edge of beds, serving as attractive focal pieces and storage units. Soft lighting is an important element in Scandinavian style as natural lighting emphasises simplicity and elegance.

Designing a kid’s space is arguably one of the most difficult home projects to tackle — how do you make an investment that the little (soon-to-be big) ones won’t grow out of in a year? Turns out, it’s not impossible. Take inspiration from these parents, who have mastered the art of transforming kitschy, boring, outdated spaces into a child’s dream room.

One of the most popular color schemes for a preteen girl’s bedroom is pink, white, and black. Take one look at the room shown here and you’ll see why: it’s the perfect blend of sophistication, innocence, and quirkiness. Stick with black and white on the flooring and the furniture, and you can easily change the theme if your daughter eventually decides she’s too old for pink.

In this DIY tutorial I also show several decor ideas for your desk, night stand or a dresser. One of these is a cactus with colored sand. You can buy already colored sand, or you can color it yourself using food coloring. This is such a fun and quick DIY decor idea and I love how it looks in the end. It also adds so much life to your teenage room.

It all should be really cute when we are done. I need to get busy saving money to finish their rooms. Snowflakes room will go first. That was another concession for getting the smaller room. She gets her room done first.

When choosing the pieces that will decorate your walls, try to keep variety in mind. Play with colors, textures and artistic materials for the artwork itself, and don’t be afraid to mix different sizes, shapes and frame styles.

Thanks for sharing these amazing tips and ideas about creating a beautiful and stylish bedroom. I am planning to renovate my bedroom and also looking for some reliable tips. This post really helps alot for decorating and designing the bedroom according to new era. Great efforts!!

When last you saw my girls room, this is what it looked like. We had put their beds back into bunk beds. It gave them more floor space and more place to play on the floor. You can read more about that in my post about Girls Bedroom Ideas if you would like.

Every room also needs a cute lamp, right? So in this decor tutorial I show how to make a cheap and pretty lamp using small butterfly confetti. Simply stick the butterflies all over the lamp and you get a beautiful colorful butterfly lamp. One of the cutest DIYs ever!

I’ve tried looking on the website where the image was originally published but unfortunately I can’t see what this paint is called or where it’s from, I’m so sorry. I hope you can find a close match soon!

The pink and cream in this room is a little girl’s dream. But the sophisticated armoire and chandelier mean that it will suit her for years to come, and can be easily updated by changing the bedding and accessories.

At the end of a long hard day there is nothing better than lying down on fresh bedding and crisp sheets, but how many of us have a conducive interior style in the bedroom? It’s hard to design a bedroom that is stylish yet functional and calming without making it look like a soulless showhome. I love the soft, muted palette of this master retreat. Cool greys and ivory are well-suited for the bedroom – a space that should feel calm and restful. The mix of textural fabrics and nubby wool rug create a warm, layered space that still feels contemporary and tailored. Image credit

Country style bedrooms: Neutral shades for painted walls are essential for country style bedrooms, and white with a hint of lilac, blue or green helps to create a softer look. Floral printed bedroom wallpaper works well on feature walls too. Pine or all white furniture are popular choices for the country style.

Proper wall art is vital to every space, but it may be even more important in bedrooms where there are typically fewer design elements to add visual interest. Whenever possible, use wall décor to anchor each of the distinct function areas in your space, such as above the bed, beside some seating and in the dressing space. Then, add other artwork to any walls that feel too blank.
