A charcoal grey paint scheme may not be the first thing that springs to mind when decorating a kids’ room but with accents of yellow and blue and some age-appropriate furniture (this three bed bunk-bed is fantastic) little boys will love it. Also note the inbuilt pockets in the curtains: a sweet way to provide extra storage don’t you think?
Take inspiration from Kit Kemp’s work at Ham Yard hotel in London and decorate a bedroom with deep grey walls punctuated with flashes of fuchsia and red. A pretty white bedspread – still full of Kit’s trademark texture – allows the eye to rest, drawing the eye to the beautiful gabled headboard.

The stark black four-poster bed was the perfect contrast to whitewashed walls and beams. The industrial black window frames were dressed with heavy patterned pleated silk shades. The massive brass pendant lamp, patterned flat-weave rug, sheepskin throws and deeply veined marble coffee tables accented the decor perfectly. And the view of downtown Manhattan was of course unbeatable. Image credit
