A school uniform chair would be a truly special feature for any child or teenager’s room – uniform, sports kit, brownies, cubs, a favourite party dress, any outfit can become an eye-catching piece of furniture with a little imagination. Here, I used a digital fabric design and combined it onto my favourite style of armchair. I have a thing about exposed brickwork in the home. Along with floorboards it gives a raw feeling. Love it. This lofty bedroom is light and airy and the sporadically placed furniture makes it a little quirky. The white palette gives a sense of tranquillity and the addition of some playful colours makes it homely and inviting too. Image credit

I love the luminousity of this bedroom. Huge windows and a total white background -even the ceiling beams have been painted in white- lights up all the space. Even if I love total white interiors, I think that some spots of colour can make a bedroom cosier. Also, pink is known as one of the most relaxing colours, so I think it’s perfect for a bedroom. (Grasshopper floor lamp and About a Lounge by Hay chair are always a great choice for a reading corner, love them in pink) One original architectural feature of this room, the mezzanine with bed on top: I’ve always been fascinated by low beds, but I’m not little girl rooms decorating ideas to sleep close to the floor…so this is a good compromise!  Just one thing I would add in this beautiful room: some linen curtains on that windows, here in Italy it’s not possible to think about a bedroom without curtains, you could just die of heat here in a mid summer morning! Image credit

I have a thing for fairytales and so I always seek for that ‘happily ever after’ look in my home. With its tactile textures, warming beige tones and flowing covers, this bedroom is the epitome of a bed that’s fit for a princess and her prince – or me and my fiancé. It’s clear that the main focus of the room is the bed itself and so, as I believe that you can never have enough scatter cushions either, this scene truly is my ideal bedroom.

There are a variety of methods which decorating a women area can be come close to. If the girl in question has a preferred shade, it can be quite easy to begin with that color as a base and after that develop the style around it. Before buying furniture for your bedroom, you need to decide some factors like wall colour, or bedroom wallpaper, and the type of flooring that you want. Try to choose a colour that will help you create a calm atmosphere and also compliment well with your bedroom furniture. The lighting needs to be chosen wisely as well because a very bright bedroom is not soothing enough, whereas a room with insufficient lighting will hinder activities such as bedtime reading. Accessories add the perfect finishing touch to bedroom designs. For example, soft furnishings add comfort, style and colour whereas beautiful cashmere throws are luxurious and warm. Scented candles add a nice touch and woven baskets provide storage and work well with natural, rustic and eclectic styles. For the teenager who’s built up a collection of accessories that can’t be contained by a typical jewelry box, storage options can seem limited. Rather than stashing all your baubles away to turn into a tangled mess at the bottom of a drawer somewhere, take some inspiration from this piece and put them out on display. This organizer sells for a pretty penny on Etsy, but could easily be DIY-ed with scrap wood or pre-fabricated shelves and cup hooks. Cork backing in one section creates an easy solution for earrings, and longer necklaces that won’t fit in the frame can be hung on hooks screwed into the bottom. The simplistic design can be personalized in a number of ways, though this rustic, natural wood choice would complement a number of different room designs.

I love glamorous bedrooms that are sophisticated and not too glitzy. I love this bedroom because, even though it’s flowery, it has a masculine edge – due to the opulent dark walls and pared-back design integrity of the rest of the room. It’s a great bedroom for both men and women, which I like, as I think sometimes us ladies can sometimes take over the design of our bedrooms! Image credit
