From the soft pink walls to the floral bedding to the girl’s bedroom wall decor, this bedroom embodies everything feminine. The simple look of the tufted bed complements the antique bedside table. Cozy floral fabrics and billowy window treatments look airy and soft with the natural light pouring into the room. Create contrast in this all-pink room with girl’s bedroom accessories, such as this ornate blue rug. The color grounds the room while the intricate details connect to the delicate decor.

A rainbow of bright hues shines through this room and touches everything from pillows to walls. When using a strong palette of colors, repeat a particular element to create a look. In this room, circles take the leading role, appearing on bedding, walls, the rug, and artwork. Also use a neutral color, such as white, for furniture, to soften bold colors.

Thank you for your comment, I apologise but I can’t seem to see the princess castle printed blinds in the our article, however the children’s bed with curtains is by petitevintageinteriors.com.au so you may still be able to find this on their site.

This sweet attic bedroom, which belongs to designer and House & Garden contributor Ben Pentreath, can be found at the top of his gently restored Georgian country house. The cosiness of this room makes it a lovely kids’ bedroom. The twin beds sit nicely in the small space and the cream panelling brings light to the room.

The bedroom of artists Linda and David Heathcoat-Amory is a graceful high-ceilinged cube. To the left of the four-poster bed hangs a Pissarro drawing; the painted pale-blue and white stripes on the walls were inspired by the photographer Derry Moore’s house.

There are so many things about this room that we love: the matte grey painted floorboards, the assortment of rugs, the pretty bed canopy and sweet wall stickers and the soft but warm colour scheme. Whether you copy the whole scheme or just take one element, you’ve got guaranteed style.

Designer Jonathan Tuckey redesigned this London mews house in Notting Hill for a former submariner. The house is designed to enable the internal layout to be adjusted; the main bedroom can be screened off from the staircase and roof terrace for added privacy.

The concrete floors and exposed brick painted in white may create a cool warehouse feel but the nonchalantly styled books and pictures, as well as the texured bedding and soft throws keep the scheme from being sterile.

The space might be compact but as a snug sleeping spot it has everything it needs and is given real style with some design-led textiles and accessories. To create the same effect as the walls, try horizontally panelled wall cladding.

Soft pastel hues and floral touches against white washed walls create a pretty, spring-like bedroom. The painted decorative iron bench may have been intended for outdoor use but it fits perfectly with the garden-fresh scheme.

Artfully display classic toys to soften the look of a neutral room and add soft furnishings such as small armchairs to delineate a play space. Create useful additional storage by adding shelves to a redundant fireplace.

A bedroom furniture set keeps things simple – it’s a failsafe and often cost-effective way to create a unified bedroom scheme. But if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, start with your bed and mix and match the rest of your furniture around it.The key to any successful eclectic scheme is to choose a colour palette and stick to it. So if you have a dark wood bed frame, match it with wooden furniture in similar tones. Similarly, if you have a white bed, choosing white or pale bedroom furniture will help the scheme to pull together as one.

If you have trouble getting to sleep at night, then you might want to stick with restful neutral tones, combined with soft lighting. If, on the other hand, you find it hard to propel yourself out of bed in the morning, then it’s a good idea to opt for a bright, cheery colour that will make you eager to start the day. Pale hues can be used to open up a small bedroom and create a sense of space, but if the room is chilly or north-facing, then blue-greys should be avoided in favour of warmer tones. When selecting a bedroom wallpaper, dense, busy patterns and a strident palette can work against a restful, calming atmosphere, so it’s a good idea to stick to designs that are are more quiet and subtle.

I was drawn to this space initially because of the use of pattern and colour in the cushions.  The navy blue and mustard hues are an intriguing but very complementary pairing; with the pattern visually lifting the entire space.  The warmth of the earthy tone-on-tone colour palette has soothing atmospheric qualities: perfect for a bedroom.  But the showstopper is the seamless incorporation of industrial inspired design via the vintage wall lighting.  An excellent illustration of how urban styling can be blended into a space without appearing too harsh or cold. Being a teen girl myself, I have to say this is not realistic whatsoever. I don’t know about all the other girls, but I would have liked something WITHOUT having to go out and buy everything new. That’s just my opinion, some of these were great to dream about..but not all of us could afford this.

The brief for this Paris bedroom was suitably intangible: she asked to be transported into another world. For decorator Jorge Estevez, who specialises in painting, it was vital his decorations were subtle so she wouldn’t tire of them, and also that there was ‘a feeling of the walls having been there before her’. The result is blissfully peaceful: in the bedroom, rough, eggshell-grey walls are painted with the most delicate of details to provide interest, and barely there friezes frame the doorway. The bedhead was made from an old door found in Brussels.

It’s always so nice to refresh your space in little ways. You did such a good job. I love what you’ve done with the room in general. I’m actually obsessed with palette headboards my boyfriend is in the process of making us a smaller one, but repurposing it into a bed frame was a great idea. It looks awesome.

Alastair Hendy was initially reluctant to view the Grade II listed 16th century property From the beginning, however, the house took a grip on Alastair and, although much had been obliterated, the bones of the house were all original and he was able to see its potential. It would be the start of a five-year restoration project that involved Alastair taking a crash course in 16th century building practices and engaging local craftsmen. The cosy spare room has beds under the sloped roof to create relaxing nooks.

This eclectic yet restful bedroom layers bold paint colours and vintage furniture with pretty, pastel prints. The wallpaper is ‘Birds’ (midnight) by Galbraith & Paul, 89cm wide, £124 a metre, at Tissus d’Hélène.

Washi tape is no longer what I thought it was… I must admit that I thought washi tape was a little young and too decorative for too many truly cool projects. This one has me rethinking this belief. I am so decorating my bedroom door with black and purple washi tape this weekend! Be sure to send pics if you do the same- add them in the comments below. This is one of those super easy projects to do at home that you wish you had thought of doing much sooner. So creative, so clever!

A bank of windows frames a pretty picket-fence bed. Surrounded by colorful curtains, the bed is the room’s focal point. Sunlight streams in to illuminate the space, but heavy curtains can be drawn to block out the light for nap time. Although a double bed might look oversized now, it will accommodate a growing child in later years, making it a strategic long-term investment.
