This gorgeous scheme triumphs in its simplicity. Soft whites and creams, with feminine details like the tissue pom poms and a bone inlay bedside table, create a dreamlike environment. The large mirror leant, rather than hung adds to the relaxed chic effect.

To me, there is nothing better than being able to create a sense of nature inside, connecting the two worlds. Natural fabrics such as linen, matched with cotton and wool knitted throws to create a casual yet cosy atmosphere is perfect for these chilly nights. The wooden headboard creates such a sense of grounding and security, ideal for those of us who need a sanctuary after a long day, but with the use of lighting it softens the overall look. Image credit

The conversion of this Victorian terrace in west London was a collaborative effort between Thomas Croft Architects, John Cullen Lighting and designer Sarah Delaney. The brief for the kids’ rooms at the top of the house was to keep them light hearted and comfortable. Job done we’d say.

We’d take silver over gold any day if it meant getting this sweet nursery. The soft colour is so serene but impactful design ideas like the ceiling stripes, navy wall and wall stickers give it real personality.

The new kids’ collection for Zara Home is giving us some serious interiors inspiration. Not only do we love the dinosaur print bedding and sweet accessories but the sophisticated muted hues make a nice change from the primary colours seen in many of the high street ranges.

There is a time in every girl’s life where there’s no harm in being a little OTT. Bright pink French-style furniture, upholstered button-back bed, feathers, sheep-skin, chandeliers… Pourquoi pas for the little princess?!

One corner has been hived off to form a walk-in wardrobe, which is papered with a tropical Ananbô wallpaper and overlaid with a grid of panelling to give it added depth.

I love this bedroom – it was one of the first I designed and the brief was to create an elegant and serene sanctuary. The soft Cornforth White walls combined with the decadent wallpaper by Tapet Café really do complement one another and create a very soothing mood. The Vogue print adds the perfect ‘pop’ of colour and the large mirror reflects a lot of light into the space. The chandelier by Verner Panton completes the look and adds decadence. Image credit

The master bedroom in this petite, 90sq metre family home in London’s Chelsea is the work of designer Eve Mercier. Hi, I am 13 almost 14 and in this next 2018 April or summer I will be moving. I have always shared a room, but I will have my own room. I never thought of having my own room and want it to be great. These are all super pretty and cool. But I just don’t know what kind of room I want, like what style or theme, it’s all so crazy. But these are great. They help me think of what I want. But I don’t know. I don’t know if you can help me, but thanks!

Grey walls contrast elegantly with a wooden four-poster bed hung with a cream linen in this scheme, where simplicity and luxury are the name of the game. A Colefax & Fowler table lamp complements the soft grey wall paint, while the bed’s cream linen is echoed by the curtains. A sofa at the foot of the bed emphasises comfort.

It pains us to admit, but sometimes even our eagle eyes can miss canny design buys. Case in point? The children’s selection at Designers Guild. A recent visit to their King’s Road flagship store revealed a treasure trove of delightful finds, like this ‘Little Owl’ rug (£195). Which only begs the question: what else are they hiding? Find them online at designersguild.com – where they have not only a UK shop, but US, Japan and Australia shops as well.

A dramatic use of pattern teamed with modern furniture creates a playful yet sophisticated effect in this Notting Hill town house by Suzy Hoodless. The mixologist designer is known for her mild eclecticism and smart monochrome backgrounds. ‘My aim,’ she says, ‘is that when I hand over a house, it is an extension of its owners’ personalities, and with this project we achieved that.’

Owner Lavinia needs no introduction to regular readers of House & Garden, as she has been one of its legendary house finders since 1986. Between then and now, she has scoured the British Isles and beyond in pursuit of the best in interior decoration, and at last count has visited about 4,000 houses on behalf of the magazine. This is the first time that one of her own houses has featured here. ‘After all these years,’ she says with a laugh, ‘I thought, well, why not?’

Children’s bedrooms should be fun, bold and playful. As a designer, I love to let my imagination run wild when working with children’s bedrooms. With a little inventiveness you can create the most wonderful spaces with unusual paint effects and bespoke joinery. Use MDF to create a built in bed in the shape of a house or teepee, section off a corner for a reading area in the shape of a castle or make the most of a tall ceiling with a mezzanine, as in the image above. Children love to have their own special space and creating a reading nook or hiding space allows them to escape into their own magical world. In the past I have designed rooms with tented ceilings, trampoline floors and a bed made from silver birch branches decorated with fairy lights. Go on – have some fun! Image Credit

Sofa beds don’t have to be drab. Spruce up your spare room with some neon-piped bedding, and add a geometric rug and lime green accessories for a scheme that will be uber smart whether have guests or not.

hi i am a 13 year old girl and i would just like to say that although i found loads of gr8 rooms i think that the room sizes are a bit big considering that i and all of my friends have very small bed rooms.

I love how Martyn Lawrence Bullard combines vibrant colours with serenity and calm in this bedroom; a perfect setting for colour lovers, who want to wind down in a relaxed setting after a hard day’s work. The different textures, such as the fur throw and carpet provide a great contrast to the mirrored bedside tables, which makes the room dynamic and interesting. I also love the ethnic element (Ikat cushions) combined with the ‘Modern Glamour’ style, which gives the room a new dimension. And how great is the coffee table at the end of the bed? I don’t like bedside tables, that are full of books and magazines, so this provides a great stage option that prevents cluttering the room and at the same time looks great! Image credit

My favourite bedroom has got to be my own. First of all, our ‘Breaking Bad’ style crocheted throw. Doug and I got completely addicted to this piece of TV genius and are convinced it is going to seriously influence Interior Trends for the next decade – the architecture in Albuquerque is so nice: slightly Mexican with a modern ‘edge’. The artwork above the bed is by my husband, Douglas. His work is our pension. The 1980’s style TV in the corner is a reassuring presence, as is the retro gas fire – all perfect for our unique, one off 1970’s house. The wire shelving racks are the perfect place to put books, phones and our industrial style inspection lamps. Image credit

In a valley on the Waddesdon Manor estate sits Flint House, an award-winning example of contemporary architecture commissioned by Jacob Rothschild. David Mlinaric, a long-time collaborator of the Rothschilds, helped with the interiors, acquiring the odd new piece of furniture and dipping into the Waddesdon storeroom, known as ‘the Pink Shed’, for others. In the main bedroom a feeling of cosseting warmth has been created in this otherwise white interior by painting two walls a rich teal and adding a large dark carpet in a sumptuous fabric. The sceme is tied together by the dark valance, while a convex mirror by Collier Webb adds sparkle and reflects the landscape.

Famed for her work on Firmdale Hotels, Kit Kemp’s own home is unsurprisingly full of her trademark mix of pattern. The fabric used for the bedhead and cushions in the bedroom are by Christine Van Der Hurd.

This bedroom, belonging to designer Harriet Anstruther’s 22-year-old daughter, continues the stripped back theme of the restored farmhouse while adding sophisticated elements such as the chandelier and canopy bed.

You should consider. Choosing a layout for your teenager bedroom because it allows you to stay on target, and enables you to work out the details Leisure and sports, superstars, cars, forms, etc are some of the issues, particularly appreciated by teen girls. Whatever theme you choose, make sure to delete the wall color and inspiring. Lines, assessments, and paintings are described to become excellent for the walls.
