gilmore girls episode where emily creates a bedroom for rory cute girl baby room ideas

I love the fact that my bedroom is a comfy nook tucked under a pitched roof. To highlight the cosiness I have painted the pitched roof in a dark anthracite, that is ‘Down Pipe’ from Farrow & Ball. The atmosphere is meant to be calming and soothing. The overall colour scheme is moody with various hues of blue and grey. For that dash of boho style I’ve opted for a few houseplants around my bed and West African vintage indigo throw with a traditional pattern. It’s my favorite place to unwind from long and stressful days. Image credit

Rustic style bedrooms: Rustic style bedrooms are all about solid wood, which can be used with bed frames, timber walls, flooring and even ceilings. Rustic bedroom décor combines well with minimalist designs. White walls, black and white furniture and green accents, large wall hangings and accessories, combine perfectly with hardwood flooring, for medium to large sized bedrooms.

There are few places where a teen can express themselves unabashedly. The bedroom is the top choice. The beauty of being a teenager is that the world is their oyster. Their favorite things are diverse and sometimes discordant, but with some planning, all ideas can tie together beautifully.

The bedroom should be one of the most comfortable and relaxing rooms in your home. That’s why I prefer a warm, soothing colour palette that helps you to unwind after a long day. I feel that gold accents and luxurious textiles such as velvet and silk complement warmer tones very well and give it a high-end look without compromising the comfort. I like the rest of the decor quite minimalist though so the room doesn’t look too busy. Simple and chic is the way to go! Image credit

Make the most of your small bedroom by using furniture to provide the storage that many undersized rooms lack. Case in point: this lovely, shabby chic bedroom substitutes a small dresser for a traditional nightstand, and makes the most of a recessed nook with a china cabinet to hold linens, sweaters, and other bulky items. That’s smart and beautiful.

You can create a great view by adding several shelves to your wall, and avoid making them all aligned to each other and equal in size, instead, add a large one and then several smaller ones above. That would help create a nice view to your walls, especially if they are colored. These shelves will also give you a nice space on which you can organize your books, artwork, and little girly stuff.

I was drawn to this space initially because of the use of pattern and colour in the cushions.  The navy blue and mustard hues are an intriguing but very complementary pairing; with the pattern visually lifting the entire space.  The warmth of the earthy tone-on-tone colour palette has soothing atmospheric qualities: perfect for a bedroom.  But the showstopper is the seamless incorporation of industrial inspired design via the vintage wall lighting.  An excellent illustration of how urban styling can be blended into a space without appearing too harsh or cold. I love this luxurious bedroom designed for a colour http://www.wect.com/story/37622080/news client. The careful mix of pattern and texture maximises the visual impact he gets from it, without being overwhelming for anyone else. It’s a large, bright space that could take a lot of colour without looking busy, and can easily absorb big pieces (the bed is actually a super king). The walk-in wardrobe has a to-die-for amount of storage in addition to the 3 massive wardrobes alongside the bed, which allows for everything to be put away and hidden, so that you can  enjoy the bright colours and still have a tranquil space to escape to. Deep jewel tones, such as the turquoise Porta Romana Thread lamps,  and matt metallics allow the scheme to be both rich and restful. The style is very much that of a small boutique hotel – creative and encouraging. It’s not a room you go to to unwind and declutter your mind – it’s an exciting destination in itself. Every texture is interesting,  inviting and playful. The Stark carpet is wonderfully soft under food, and the silk bed throw from Soak and Sleep has a luxurious and subtle sheen to it. Image credit

There are many different steps to decorating a kids room that begin with deciding on a theme and end with choosing what color you wish to adorn the walls with. Obviously you have multiple choices for decorating the walls of your childs bedroom, however the two most popular options are wallpaper and paint. While wallpaper comes in a wide variety of colors, patterns, and textures, it tends to be a much more tedious process with more permanent results. Removing it takes a lot of time and effort, and can also damage your walls. Paint, on the other hand, does not take a lot of time to apply and can easily become a do it yourself project. Plus, as cartoon characters and games become more popular, companies are creating paint colors for girls room that are based off of popular kids shows such as Dora the Explorer and toy brands like Fischer Price. Paint a bright pink and purple girls room that has wall decals of Swiper and Boots or choose a more subtle green that is found in the popular baby brand Luv U Zoo.

If you’re after a particular style, finding a piece that fits perfectly with your ideal can be an epic struggle. In the case of this shabby chic mirror, one would have been hard-pressed to find something akin to this particular Renaissance design in the modern day. Rather than settle on a less desirable piece, this gorgeous mirror was hand-crafted from an old door, transformed into a mirror frame. Finding an old door to refurbish also grants the opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind piece, and will more than likely carry a much less hefty price tag than a similar antique or antique-inspired article.

Regardless of your design challenge, when creating a shared room for your little ones if you stick to resourceful, efficient, fun and creative choices, you’ll no doubt create a bedroom your kids will love!

This child’s room showcases youthful sophistication for growing girls. Offset from the bedroom, the lavender playroom provides plenty of space for playing games and entertaining friends. The lime linen settee is the perfect place to read a book while enjoying the sweeping outdoor views. By creating a clear separation between the bedroom and playroom, both rooms have a clear and defined purpose. Design by Jennifer Duneier
