Don’t be afraid of the dark! Dark colours have become really cool in interiors and bedrooms are amazing spaces to use them. This dark blue creates a really dramatic space and draws your eye to the crisp white linen and the light of the window. Image credit
Picking a wallpaper to cover an entire room is a commitment and an investment. Keep the rest of the room grounded by sticking with the same palette and choosing furniture in modern, minimalist styles.

In interior design, texture plays an important part in the way that we perceive how a space feels. For your master bedroom, you’ll want it to feel warm, inviting and cozy, among other positive attributes. You can easily bring a homey feel to the space by using plenty of textiles.
This townhouse was designed for a collector and we wanted to ensure that every room particularly the bedroom remained elegant and classic while providing a backdrop for the magnificent collection of works of art and antiques. The antique carpet provided us with the initial inspiration for the colour scheme of the bedroom; we chose to echo its green tones throughout the room from the walls to details and furnishings like the cushions.
The bedroom is the perfect place at home for relaxation and rejuvenation. While designing and styling your bedroom, you need to keep a lot of things in mind, such as colour, soft furnishings, textures, flooring, furniture etc. All these elements can all be tailored according to your taste, allowing you to create the serene and tranquil haven in your abode.
This light and airy bedroom looks like a wonderful getaway. The symmetry of the space and decor makes for a pleasing view and you can just imagine yourself watching the clouds go by through those sky lights! I love how the dark green tone and botanical cushion prints bring a little of the outside in. In my opinion, adding a feline friend will always make your space seem welcoming! Image credit
Just because a bedroom study space is essential for school or college homework, doesn’t mean it has to be boring. This bedroom corner has been transformed into a space you want to hang out in – it’s worthy of a lifestyle blogger, we think! Floating shelves house stacked framed prints and photos, as well as pastel accessories that look pretty while also functioning as organisational desk essentials. A marble-effect light and fur throw add a touch of luxury, to the slender desk that handily doubles as a dressing area.
Okay, these bedrooms are nice and all but who really has rooms with a balcony and a full glass window wall and a giant skylight in their room? Not the average family. So maybe you should make more pratical ideas. You would have been of more help to the other people who also commented agreeing with me. And anyways most of these ideas were no where near anything that i’d think would be a teenage girl’s room. Most of them look like like lifeless hospital rooms. Just saying.
Crystal Palecek, cofounder of Rue magazine, her husband, Andrew, had to adapt their cozy San Francisco home to accommodate their son, Benjamin. Space was limited, so the couple turned to an underutilized space — their cluttered walk-in — for the reno.
When considering the design of your bedroom, it’s important to keep in mind both aesthetics and functionality. If storage is a primary concern, it is important to integrate the right cupboards and wardrobes into your design. The “Style” section of our website can help you decide with the right design as you can draw inspiration from various style categories, such as minimalist, modern, eclectic, colonial etc..
Bedrooms should be tranquil and relaxing! When I redecorated mine, I chose a very pale grey wall colour with matching bed linen and curtains! I hung my floor-length curtains high up on the wall, and to the sides of the window frames to create the illusion of height and larger windows. This maximises the light coming in to the room, and together with the white painted wooden floor, gives the room a calm and airy feel. I kept the decor fuss free, just adding different patterned textiles in the same colours for some visual interest, and warmed up the look by adding some copper accessories. A light chain and some industrial style cage lights either side of the bed gives a cosy glow at night and my bedtime reading supply (interior magazines) are kept handy by the bed and doubles up as a bedside table! If you need to compromise on a decorating style for the master bedroom, consider colors that are neither too masculine nor too feminine. Play with patterns and textures: florals on the walls, velvet on the headboard, and striped accents.

Jewel tones are excellent choices for tween decor since they evoke femininity as well as a sense of glamour. Consider adding touches of gold in an up-to-date manner with satin brass hardware. Much more subdued than polished brass, the satin finish is soft and refined, and works especially well with colors such as purple, green, red and turquoise.

If there’s room at the end of the bed, use the space to sneak in some extra storage for clothes, shoes, accessories or even school books! These girly metal trunks are one option, but if that’s not your teenage girl’s style, then vintage suitcases or upholstered bench storage are equally stylish and useful!
Although professional framing comes with added expense, it’s an excellent way to help a youth-oriented space feel less juvenile and more grown-up. Instead of tacking the original paper directly to the wall, it was instead placed inside a floating-style frame with coordinating mat. When framing pieces for tween’s rooms, always consider durability and safety. Instead of gallery glass, this piece is protected with acrylic, which is kid-friendly and shatterproof.
For shared bedrooms where the occupants don’t see eye to eye on color, find one hue that appeals to both parties and let each choose an accent color. For multi-hue schemes, include plenty of white to tame the color confluence, like the white furniture in this cute girl bedroom idea.

Their rooms are still a huge work in progress. In fact, we did our big trip to IKEA, moved their rooms and then haven’t done anything since. As you will see in the pictures, there is still quite a bit of work to do.
Bedrooms are our personal retreats. For me, a well designed bedroom needs to be effortless. I http://lookoutstyle.com/news/overstock-clearance-sale-company-stockclearanceguru-celebrates-successful-launch/0052164/ how the masculine simplicity of this design is balanced against rich textures – the cashmere panelled walls and geometric carpet, offset dark polished woods and a platinum trimmed bed. The space isn’t grand, but with an understated colour palette and strong use of symmetry, it’s easily replicable – even if you don’t have the £199m needed to buy the Monaco Penthouse it sits within! Of course, the first textiles that spring to mind are the bedding. But don’t just settle for any set. Layer multiple materials — think down, silk and shearling — to create a space that you never want to leave. Then, warm up the rest of the room by putting down a throw rug or adding a blanket to your seating area.
