My favourite bedroom has got to be my own. First of all, our ‘Breaking Bad’ style crocheted throw. Doug and I got completely addicted to this piece of TV genius and are convinced it is going to seriously influence Interior Trends for the next decade – the architecture in Albuquerque is so nice: slightly Mexican with a modern ‘edge’. The artwork above the bed is by my husband, Douglas. His work is our pension. The 1980’s style TV in the corner is a reassuring presence, as is the retro gas fire – all perfect for our unique, one off 1970’s house. The wire shelving racks are the perfect place to put books, phones and our industrial style inspection lamps. Image credit

This is the guest bedroom at a client’s penthouse in the centre of Barcelona. I love the colour scheme and all the fabrics used. It feels like you’re on a holiday in a beautiful hotel when you’re in this bedroom. It has an en-suite with a double shower so that you can shower at the same time as your partner, I thought this would be romantic. The velvet, the suede, the silk, the divine fabrics and tones used in this bedroom are an entire world of calming, soothing, touchy feely goodness. It’s also a deluxe combination. To me It’s a winner. Image credit

Definitely prefer the classic looking bedrooms to modern. Although the modern bedrooms look artistic and clean, they look too cold for my taste. I like soft, warm colors rather than bold and bright ones for bedrooms. I think it’s because brighter colors make me feel more awake, but when I am in a bedroom I want to relaxed and be calm. When I was a little girl I had a canopy bed — the hangings always made me feel like I was a princess in a fairytale or something. Fast forward 30 years later, and I still want to feel that way…my bedroom is decorated with Victorian accent pieces from LookInTheAttic. They restore heirloom pieces and do custom finishing. I am quite happy http://markets.financialcontent.com/searchbug/news/read/35871325 my bedroom, but my daughter is the complete opposite from me — she wants to have bright pink polka dots all over her room. What do you say people? Should I give in?

It might be tempting to buy the biggest bed possible to feather a luxurious nest. But doing this in a small space tends to cause a more cramped feel. Instead, choose a bed with small stature that won’t choke the room, such as an iron bed with a see-through headboard and footboard. Or pick a bed with no footboard at all, such as a platform or storage bed. Doing so will keep the middle of your room open, making it feel larger.

If you’ve spent time and money carefully creating two-tone paint effects like this, and refurnishing a kids bedroom, you’re probably not going to be that keen for your teen daughter to pin posters directly on the wall… not that we’re being design control freaks or anything. Try fixing picture ledges at staggered heights on the wall above the bed and layering up framed prints and photos of your teen’s choice for a personal and art display. 1. Small room decorating doesn’t have to be difficult. Our best advice on how to organize a small bedroom? Add one piece of drama. In this bedroom, a suzani patterned tapestry serves as an eye-catching headboard. Pair it was other boho accessories to tie the whole room together.
Larger products, such as beds and head boards, must be chosen with the concept that they will continue to serve the child for a number of even more years.
