I like interiors being minimalist, effortless and welcoming and this bedroom embodies all these things. I love the contrast of the matte black floorboards, the various hues of dark and light grey soft stonewashed linen to curl up in bed on a Sunday morning, the gorgeous atelier windows and the sheet of rusty metal casually lay against the wall and turned into a simple piece of art and a few of our favourite design books. A great combination of simple lines, textures and muted colours. Image credit

As with any seating area, it’s important to identify which function it will fulfill. If you like to curl up with a good book, place a stately armchair next to a bookcase. If you’re all about catching up on your favorite shows, look for a loveseat or daybed that will give you room to stretch out.

The right girl’s room decor grows with your child and calls for creativity and clever planning. Keep life simple by leaving your girl’s bedroom colors and furniture bright and white. The neutral backdrop will blend effortlessly with any number of solids and patterns on bedding and other decor. Plus, the natural light bounces off the walls brightening the room even more. As a bonus, clean white walls keep this attic bedroom from looking cramped and tiny.

I prefer the cottage/farmhouse look in my home, though I live in a patio apartment. The bedroom above is typical of how I decorate. I’m really into the black, red, gray and white color combination. Also, this bedroom has a lot of textural elements that give it character and charm. The rug on the floor. And the wicker trunk at the end of the bed. I also love anything vintage, and having a piece of furniture that perhaps belonged to grandma fits right in. The red blanket on the wicker trunk looks handy to pull up when you’re reading a book or taking an afternoon nap. My blog is about coziness – so my rooms have to include that element to encompass all that I love about decorating. This is a cozy room. And that’s what I love most about it. Image credit

i like a lot of the rooms but who has the money for that . we just sent one of my siblings down to florida for college(we live no where near florida) and now this year we are sending another sbling offf to college no way

Building your little girl a Princess Bedroom makes them feel loved and special, and it helps bring magic into their lives. And while fairytale princesses can make use of all of the realm’s gold to put together their dream bedrooms, you don’t need a huge budget to make pink fantasies come to life.

When it comes to feng shui bedrooms, a free-flowing layout is crucial. The ideal placement for your bed is as far away from the door as possible, but still in a position that lets you see the entrance; usually, the corner diagonally across from the door is the best spot. Try and avoid having your head under a window due to the ebb and flow of energy going in and out; this causes disturbed and interrupted sleep. Do not position your bed so as to have your feet point out the door while you’re sleeping; this is called the “Death Position” as the deceased are carried out feet first, and sleeping this way is said to drain your life force.

During the initial design stages we find it interesting to focus on one key piece and use its colours, look and feel as a starting point for inspiration – this could be anything from a statement painting to an antique rug. Image credit

If your ultimate goal is “cozy,” then work different textures into the décor. Stick with classic patterns (tartan plaid, checks) and introduce different colors with the bed linens, walls, and accessories.

If you’ve spent time and money carefully creating two-tone paint effects like this, and refurnishing a kids bedroom, you’re probably not going to be that keen for your teen daughter to pin posters directly on the wall… not that we’re being design control freaks or anything. Although carpet is usually the most popular flooring choice for bedrooms, it’s hard to keep clean in high-traffic rooms. Rather than going through the motions of having carpet professionally cleaned yearly, it may be a better investment to simply replace wall-to-wall carpet with resilient vinyl plank flooring. Averaging less than $1.50 per square foot, vinyl plank is easy to install by cutting to size with a utility knife, then staggering each plank to create a pattern. As opposed to carpet, which stains easily, vinyl can simply be wiped clean with a sponge.

  1. These rooms are awesome! Really love the graffiti wall and blackboard wall; I think feature walls really make a room stand out. I have found some brilliant teen bedroom ideas recently, a great range to suit all budgets.
Most of the time, a small bedroom means an equally small closet. A great solution to this common concern is incorporating built-in storage around the head of the bed, as in this serene space designed by Chris Ebert of Normandy Remodeling. If built-ins aren’t an option, look for bookcases that fit in the space instead.
This monogram is another easy decoration DIY that you can make in no time and use in many ways. It’s as easy to make as getting a hollow letter block with the little girl’s initial and then fill the open space with fabric or paper roses. You can use it to decorate the walls or set it on top of furniture. lulus.
