This bedroom is within the Cotswolds home of architect Richard Parr. The chest of drawers from Bryanmawr Furniture Makers, is made from oak and compliments the simple, yet timeless feel of the bedroom. The Fifties Italian vintage shield mirror hung over the bed was bought from The Cabinet Rooms a pop-up auction with great mid-century-modern pieces.

The owner of this London flat, a prolific collector of art and antiquities, has turned it into a veritable chamber of wonders, while ensuring that it also functions as a supremely comfortable home. The bed hangings are made from the reverse side of a Fortuny material and topped with antique, wood and gilt corona found in a Cotswold antique shop. On the wall is a famous portrait of Anne Hyde, Duchess of York, by Sir Peter Lely.
Love the photos, really gave me some ideas on decorating my next flat. The bedroom in the new property is quite small but the walls are painted in a cream colour – will be easy to pick the right elements to decorate it. Since I’m a tenant, I’ll have to find non-destructive ways of decorating the place. I will also have to think how I’ll remove and clean the place when my tenancy comes to an end, but this isn’t a problem since London is full of shops and I have plenty of things to choose from.
During the initial design stages we find it interesting to focus on one key piece and use its colours, look and feel as a starting point for inspiration – this could be anything from a statement painting to an antique rug. Image credit
Paired with white furniture, bedding and accessories, teal wall paint makes a chic splash in this cozy retreat. A wall-mounted flat screen TV is blended into a gallery wall for a design that’s both stylish and functional.
The main bedroom of Jo Vestey’s Oxfordshire farmhouse has Jo’s photographs on display and a Japanese light on the desk. Exposed beams, wooden floorboards and the desk contrast nicely with the white rug and walls, giving an overall look that is both clean and rustic.
A Fifties, brass wall sconce hangs above one of two vintage Scandinavian rosewood chests from Sigmar in this bedroom – the prize find of the project, according to the rooms designer Suzy Hoodless. ‘I slightly wish that I’d kept those for myself,’ she says wistfully. Charcoal coloured walls are combined with a lush velvet headboard in navy blue – one of our favourite bedrooms ideas.
Once you’ve found the right size bed, it’s time to choose your style. If you’re looking to make a contemporary statement, an oversized headboard will make a striking focal point to your bedroom scheme. Love traditional or country style? A beautifully upholstered headboard will work like a charm. If you’re a fan of industrial chic or vintage finds, an iron bedframe might be just what you’re after.
This chic attic conversion consists of soft neutrals and classic furniture that could easily be seen in the ‘grown-up’ bedrooms of the house. However the sweet matching wall art gives it a younger feel.
The sludgy tones work for Gytha, who with her property-developer husband Jean Michel Bouchon discovered the apartment while renting the flat next door. Where possible, Gytha has avoided using paint. ‘I don’t really like it’ she says. ‘It gives no depth.’ Instead a linen-effect wallpaper by Flamant has been used in the main bedroom, acting as a moody backdrop to a gallery wall of pictures and the red upholstered headboard. ‘It never scuffs, and at night – with low light – it’s just magical. I’m an anti-spotlight person.’
Typically when your daughter becomes a teenager she will no longer want to have her room filled with pictures of fairies, stuffed animals, or princess decorations. Instead she will begin looking for sophisticated teenage girl room ideas and designs so she can revamp her space with more mature décor. Whether it be new bedding, a fresh coat of paint, or even updated furniture, redecorating can become costly so you may want to look for cheap room ideas for teenagers. For example, painting old furniture yourself is a quick, inexpensive, and easy way to create a new and custom look. Paint the furniture a rustic pink color and then distress it to create an elegant and vintage look that is very popular among new 2017 bedroom design trends. Transforming this tiny attic room into a children’s room for two required some ingenuity. Enter Kate Earle of Todhunter Earle who designed these overlapping bunk beds as a clever space-saving solution.
Interior designer Robert Moore is a self-confessed magpie, and his home is bursting with beautiful things: books, photographs and silvery trinkets adorn every surface. The main bedroom is painted in ‘Tablecloth’ by Paint & Paper Library while the mirror was bought in Arundel. Nicholas Haslam will make the pretty gabled headboard to order, but Sofa.com’s ‘Inferno’ bed upholstered in cotton (starting from £695 for a double) is a good alternative.
We discovered Room to Bloom’s clever cupboard bed via The List – House & Garden’s new online directory (find out more here). The bed is an ideal solution for an awkward small space – in this case, a long, narrow room interrupted by a staircase. It is built around the stair, and has ample storage for toys and books thanks to under-bed drawers, a bookcase and internal shelving.
Though it’s for two little girls, this room has plenty of grown-up sophistication. Crown molding, the fireplace mantel, and carved-wood bed frames are all highly traditional, but they are all finished in soft white rather than a dark stain. To create your own elegant room, stick with a palette of two colors, such as the sage and rose in this room.
The dream bedroom for teens, black comforter with large pink flowers on it and gold stars on the wall. Where did that comforter and sham set come from?? M daughter loves it and I cannot seem to find anything similar. Beautiful room!

A bright aqua bed frame pops against the lighter shade of the accent wall for a lovely color effect in this girl’s bedroom. A coral dresser is a great feminine touch while a mix of pillows adds an array of colors for a bright and fun finish.

When renovating this Renovated Farmhouse, Maria Speake of Retrovious kept an eye out for continuity between rooms. For example, here in the spare room the walls are lined with ‘Sheep’ wallpaper from The Art of Wallpaper thus echoing the animal theme of the children’s bathroom.

Can this possibly be the perfect bedroom? Let’s talk about the colour. This bedroom has the ever so popular grey wall. It’s modernised by adding a touch of yet another grey that has the slightest hint of a muted lavender. It’s pleasing to both men and women because colour palette falls right smack in the middle of the appeal for both sexes. The black adds a nice masculinity and grounding to the room shown in the strong stripe of the area rug and gorgeous texture in the frames. The hard lines of the end tables are softened by soft white fabrics and an undulated headboard which add femininity to this space. Sleepy yet? Image credit
This bedroom in the Florescu’s house belongs to Lizzie and Ion’s son Leopold. Pattern – and therefore fun – is injected through the blind, made of Jane Churchill’s ‘Deverell Stripe’. This room is full of personal touches, for example, the model of a Cadogan Square house was made by Leopold himself.
