girls poodle bedroom -little kid rooms

So glad you like the ideas! Sadly I couldn’t find the tutorial that went along with that idea, but here is a link to a similar project with instructions: http://17shadesofmade.wordpress.com/2013/11/13/diy1/ hope that helps!

The addition of a large basement extension to this Edwardian house with bright, modern interiors freed up space on the upper floors for bright and capacious rooms, and created a more fluid layout ideal for family living.

Lettering on the wall and a stellar light fixture give a more youthful feel to this stylish bedroom in designer Sarah Stewart-Smith’s Herefordshire family home. The small space is made to feel bigger with a curtain separating the cosy bed area from a seating area with a desk, with the grey colour scheme continued throughout.

We’ve been very (no pun intended) impressed with the quality of furniture at shops like Very.com and Littlewoods of late – don’t dismiss them for good This bed (French Kiss) from the latter was reduced to just £184 in the sale. The bed curtains are Yolo Stripe (£14 a metre at John Lewis) while the rug (Lappljung Ruta) is £55 at Ikea.

House & Garden picture editor Owen Gale transformed his loft, turning the space into a bedroom, bathroom and music studio. Here is the bedroom, which has a ceiling height of just two metres. Farrow & Ball’s ‘All White’ was used to make the room feel light and spacious, while vertical tongue-and-groove panelling also worked to the same effect.

Wendy Nicholls of Colefax and Fowler has honed her personal and professional style in her London flat which is full of Victorian accents and unique accessories. Wendy’s bedroom has a softer palette, with an embroidered bedspread from Chelsea Textiles. Walls of pale mauveish grey show off the yellow silk of the four-poster’s simple, unlined curtains. Her shock revelation is that they were made from silk taken from the curtains in the yellow drawing room at Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler’s Brook Street building. That room, with its lacquered buttercup walls and three pairs of massive curtains hung about with passementerie, was a shrine to decorating, an emblem of their grandest classical style. Was it heresy to cut up its curtains? Wendy quickly assures that these were the last remnants of earlier pairs, which had fallen into shreds.

The neat attic bedroom of designer Hugh Leslie’s Chelsea studio is partially clad in horizontal tongue-and-groove boarding. This is a good trick to visually widen a small room. Try the Georgian range from The English Panelling Company, which would create a similar effect.

When it came to designing this Chelsea home, Stephen Eicker most enjoyed working on this bedroom, belonging to the owner’s two sons, aged three and six. His starting point was the eldest’s obsession with trains, and this led him to the wallpaper by The New Yorker cartoonist Saul Steinberg, which he teamed with a turquoise carpet with red-and-white fabrics. Accessorised with vintage toy trains, the room is original and playful without being overdone or saccharine.

Citrusy bright, full of cheerful touches, and almost tropical in its sunshiny intensity, here’s a super-colorful bedroom from Lucy and Company that gets everything right: cute wallpaper, well-loved stuffed animals, a cheery throw blanket that ties the color scheme together, and more fun touches in the Roman shade, retro silver bookcase, and glass lamps. But it’s the lime green, sunny yellow, and fuchsia pink palette that steals the show. It’s hard to find a better color combo for a little girl’s…MORE bedroom.

A cosmic chair forms a focal point in this bright and airy girls bedroom in Florida. Glamour, sparkle and romance combine in the accessories, while white walls keep the backdrop crisp and clean. A powder pink accent wall is a super-feminine touch.

I absolutely love this bedroom and it has actually inspired my own bedroom makeover. The bold use of indigo is classy and sophisticated and creates a sleep-inducing atmosphere. Blue is a very calming and soothing colour to use in the bedroom and can aid restful sleep. The use of chunky knits, Damask prints and patterned cushions adds to the cosy feel of this room. Image credit

Designate areas in a bedroom for specific purposes. A cozy bench by the window is a sunny spot for reading. Big baskets on a shelving unit house toys and books in a central location. A small table in the center of the room can be set for tea with friends or can be used as a work area for art projects or studying.

Celebrated interior decorator Nicky Haslam opens the doors to his own west-London apartment, which is an elegantly playful showcase for his masterful use of scale and dramatic details, and his signature mix of the fake and the fabulous. Painted a rich dark brown, the canopy in the bedroom was inspired by a Cecil Beaton drawing. Nicky brought the bed with him from his former flat and found the table lamps in a second-hand shop.

If you’re searching for teen bedroom ideas, think about what your teen loves and see their bedroom through their perspective. A teenager has a different view of a bedroom than an adult — beyond a place to sleep, it’s where a teen escapes from the world of demands and rules.

I like your gift in a jar idea. It’s something different, cute, an neat. I would like to do this idea as gifts for Christmas. Is there any way you can make a tag saying I just want to TEAL you Merry Christmas in the same font? I would greatly appreciate it.

This modern bedroom styled by Gabby Deeming was inspired by traditional Japanese rooms with Shoji screens and includes a simple yet elegant futon bed on a platform base from Futon Company. Simple sliding screens have been constructed with pine batons and papered with ‘Sansui’ wallpaper from Zoffany, a pattern of soft mountains. A modern ensuite bathroom houses C P Hart’s ‘Stand’ bath, which is propped on a steel frame.

This small bedroom has dark green walls in Farrow & Ball’s ‘Olive’ paint. The single divan bed base is furnished with a ‘Casati’ headboard from Ensemblier London upholstered in ‘Faded Monochrome Teal Roses’ from Bennison. A limed wood antique commode is used as a bedside table, topped with a pile of books and simple glass vase filled with fresh flowers.

If you have trouble getting to sleep at night, then you might want to stick with restful neutral tones, combined with soft lighting. If, on the other hand, you find it hard to propel yourself out of bed in the morning, then it’s a good idea to opt for a bright, cheery colour that will make you eager to start the day. Pale hues can be used to open up a small bedroom and create a sense of space, but if the room is chilly or north-facing, then blue-greys should be avoided in favour of warmer tones. When selecting a bedroom wallpaper, dense, busy patterns and a strident palette can work against a restful, calming atmosphere, so it’s a good idea to stick to designs that are are more quiet and subtle.

Decoration in a bedroom boils down to a few key elements: pick a theme, add interesting accents and a dash of contrast. In this case, the contrast comes from the more masculine chrome touches and button-detail cushion.

Detailing and subtlety of colour are trademarks of designer John Minshaw’s interiors, and the barn conversion he shares with wife Susie illustrates this perfectly. The bedroom pairs William Yeoward bedlinen with a blue headboard and black furniture.

i like the rooms I just feel like a lot of them are girly when not all girls are all about the pink and lacy frill thing. i also looked at the boys rooms and i liked more of those than i did of these–but the one i really liked on this was the one with the ladder that led to this cool loft thing–it would need to be a different color but it was pretty cool ?

The small white bedroom on the second floor of this Victorian terrace house had been painted a rather gloomy blue. To make the most of the light, newlyweds Sophie and Dan opted to repaint the room with Dulux’s ‘Pure Brilliant White’ while lemon yellow accents bring further warmth to the room. The divan bed is furnished with a buttoned ‘Bekkestua’ headboard from Ikea and the cane mirror hung over the bed was bought on a trip to Saffron Walden.

A dressing room or walk-in wardrobe is the ultimate luxury in a bedroom. It’s best to go bespoke (funds allowing), as an experienced cabinet designer will know how to make the most of every last inch of storage space, incorporating shoe racks, clothes drawers, built-in shelves, hanging rails and more.

  1. This bedroom in a Notting Hill townhouse is dominated by Michael Szell’s cheerful ‘Carnival’ fabric and wallpaper designed for Christopher Farr Cloth. The wall behind the bed has been entirely wallpapered, giving the effect of an extended headboard.
This 10-year-old son’s bedroom in a large Chelsea flat designed by Sophie Ashby features a swirl of clouds billowing across a cerulean sky, a mural by Surface View – a copy of Constable’s Study of Cirrus Clouds. It is both cosseting and dramatic.
