Situated between Marrakesh and the Atlas Mountains, the holiday home of Colefax & Fowler’s Trudi Ballard, is decorated in a combination of English country-house style and traditional Moroccan elements. The site of the house is perfect: down a dirt track or two and into an olive grove, where the house seems almost part of the landscape. At the end of a gravel path is a studded wooden door leading to a shaded walk and then a cool, airy hall through french windows. This bedroom has a pretty delft-blue palette, with an Indian cotton bedspread and plates above the chimneypiece from Fez.

The bed is an ideal solution for an awkward small space – in this case, a long, narrow room interrupted by a staircase. It is built around the stair, and has ample storage for toys and books thanks to under-bed drawers, a bookcase and internal shelving.

Here, a changing table tucks perfectly into a small alcove, leaving more available floor space.

Hints of pink add a soft touch a bedroom, in which ‘Toile’ by Kathryn M Ireland was used for the curtains, headboard and footboard; to one side is a free-standing bath.

all these rooms are SUPER cool. Awesome creativity! But next time, it’d be great if maybe you guys could design a room thats, well, more affordable looking/ realistic. I mean, c’mon, we’re teenagers who dont really have THAT much extra cash on hand to use on hand haha. And maybe ‘simpler’ room sizes. The loft one is super cool, but its not like everyone has a loft in their room. . . . awesome ideas though!

Guys, in case you aren’t aware there are materials to paint a room that are not expensive..especially if you do it yourself. Also you can design a room based on someone else’s design. The globetrotting owners of this west London townhouse employed a specialised team to restore its original mid-nineteenth century features, and create a home with a feeling of permanence after a lifetime of moving. The house is a tall, white stucco building that they wanted to work well for twenty-first-century family life. ‘We were determined to avoid beige banker chic, the owners explain.

In Steffanie Brown’s 10-year-old daughter’s bedroom, interior decorator Henri Fitzwilliam-Lay has subdivided the walls for a sock-it-to-me impact, introducing a psychedelic cloudscape (‘Clouds Sonic’ by Aimée Wilder) above the picture rail and a restrained print below (‘Tile’ by Cole & Son). ‘She wanted a funky bedroom,’ says Henri. ‘I tried to give her what she was looking for, without doing something that would later drive you bonkers.’

I would describe this bedroom as ‘cosy contemporary’ and it’s the sort of space I could relax in at the end of a busy day.  It is fairly minimalist, but not as stark as a white or grey bedroom, with an on trend geo pattern and a soft colour palette, with some warmth from the brass lamp and wooden side table.  I also love the white painted floor boards and think it is a look that could be quite easy to re-create. Image credit
