You may consider selecting a theme for your teenage bedroom as it keeps you focused and allows you to work on details. Hobbies and sports, celebrities, rock stars, cars, shapes, etc are few themes extremely appreciated by the teens. Irrespective of the theme you are selecting, ensure to select the wall color bright and inspiring. Stripes, checks, and mural designs are also known to work very well on the walls.

Even the tiniest bedroom can benefit from an accent wall; after all, it doesn’t take up any space. Whether you choose a glorious metallic wallpaper like the one here or prefer a painted wall, don’t be afraid to go bold if that suits your personality.

By choosing fabrics and furnishings in luxurious styles and textures, designer Judith Balis crafted an ultra-glam room that’s both timeless and on trend. To keep the chic side tables from becoming cluttered, she opted for stylish hanging globe light fixtures instead of traditional table lamps.

For those who have large space to spare, it is best to design a kid’s bedroom that is as large as possible. It gives them much needed freedom and there is a far lesser chance of him bumping his head into anything. This fashionable design in Grey, white and yellow does just that.

For shared bedrooms where the occupants don’t see eye to eye on color, find one hue that appeals to both parties and let each choose an accent color. For multi-hue schemes, include plenty of white to tame the color confluence, like the white furniture in this cute girl bedroom idea.

Soft coral and brown? It may be out of imagination, but it turns out so beautiful and girly. Plush carpets work well for bedrooms. Although they offer comfort and luxury, carpets are dust traps and have to be cleaned regularly. Stains can be difficult to remove and they are not durable as hardwood floors. If you choose to use hardwood flooring, be sure to invest in good quality area rugs as they can help to soften the look of the bedroom and add warmth. Tiles are another option, and work well in hot climate regions, as they help to keep the place cool. Vinyl and laminate flooring are also options worth considering for the bedroom.

Beds can make a bedroom layout feel very linear and square. You can prevent this by placing a comfortable upholstered chair on an angle in the corner. This softens the corner of the room and encourages circulation. Add a small side table, some artwork and an ottoman, if there’s room, to make a cozy and inviting place to relax.

An organized and clutter-free bedroom doesn’t have to consist of clear storage containers and rows of school-style cubbies. A tall and simple bookshelf consisting of both drawers and shelves can showcase her favorite toys and collectibles, while keeping small trinkets safely stored. Design by Susie Fougerousse

This is a photo of my 8 year old son’s room, styled and photographed by myself. It’s a modern Breton themed bedroom.  I styled this bedroom in the autumn to bring a fresh, bright and happy feel to the room. I made sure that a cosy feel is maintained, with the soft throw on the bed for bedtime tucking in and the cushion for casual lounging. Everything is positioned conveniently, such as the comforting bedside light, an accessible bedside table for his drink and storage below his table for toys. Next to his bed is a laundry bag which encourages tidiness. To the right of his bed is a large shelf of favourite books, recently converted to his workspace. To the left of his bed is an empty area for running around with friends. Image courtesy of Gerladine Tan.

This light and airy bedroom looks like a wonderful getaway. The symmetry of the space and decor makes for a pleasing view and you can just imagine yourself watching the clouds go by through those sky lights! I love how the dark green tone and botanical cushion prints bring a little of the outside in. In my opinion, adding a feline friend will always make your space seem welcoming! Image credit

Different styles of furniture and fabrics find themselves part of a cohesive whole in this room thanks to the choice of colors. A gray rug over hardwood floors gives a homey, comfortable feel and, paired with the matching gray of the walls, creates a neutral base on which to build the rest of the space. The small nook is utilized to its fullest as study space with a framed corkboard that reaches almost the ceiling, providing organization opportunities and the ability to add personal touches in a way that doesn’t feel cluttered. Complementary colors complete the ensemble, with teal and salmon accents abounding, even extending to the pale teal ceiling. A paper flower chandelier tops off the retro chic space, beautifully curated and sure to please any girl.

ahhh these room are huge!, thanks making them realistic, especially with all the sun lighting and windows, most of us id think atleast. have no lighting or a little lighting but have mopstly light bulb for lighting

I have a thing about exposed brickwork in the home. Along with floorboards it gives a raw feeling. Love it. This lofty bedroom is light and airy and the sporadically placed furniture makes it a little quirky. The white palette gives a sense of tranquillity and the addition of some playful colours makes it homely and inviting too. Image credit

I’m a 14 year old girl, and I am re-doing my small bedroom. None of these (with the exception of the first one) are realistic or what I’m looking for. I hate the unoriginality of the modern rooms and the pompous air in the others.

I have seen this image come up on my Pinterest feed a few times in the past and have always thought I would love to be lying in that bed reading a good book! I love the contrast of black and white and think it’s a clever decision to have the fur on the end of the bed so it warms up the rest of the scheme. The artwork is oversized but not overpowering and I am always drawn to a simple colour palette- in this case it’s black, white and brown with a touch of gold. It’s simple, elegant and beautiful.  Image credit

Blending several personalities and decorating styles in a shared bedroom can be tricky. Keep the space looking cohesive by choosing one bedding style for every bed. In this room, compromise was key in the planning stages—especially when it came down to girls’ bedroom colors. One girl who loves bright, bold colors got her way with a stand-out painted ceiling, while her sister scored with neutral walls and a patterned rug. Shared girl’s room decor can make everyone happy with a little compromise.

When it comes to bedroom decorating ideas, your options are endless. When nailing down your bedroom design, it’s helpful to start by tackling the more permanent things, like furniture. Artwork and photographs that put you at ease are a great addition (although some advise against having family photos around, as they can hinder that “sexy bedroom” vibe), and mirrors are a must-have if you use the space for dressing. When considering bedroom ideas, bedding is always important — your duvet and decorative pillows should play nicely with the paint color and bedroom wall decor, but can also be swapped out easily, which makes it easy to incorporate an interesting print or texture. Lastly, add some accessories to style your nightstand or dresser; just be careful not to go overboard — too many knickknacks can make your room feel cluttered and disorganized, which can actually cause sleep trouble. If you keep these bedroom decorating ideas and color considerations in mind you should be well on your way to creating the perfect bedroom design.

No matter what piques your daughter’s interest, she probably needs plenty of storage for her treasures. Take a cue from the kitchen for organization. Kitchen cabinetry works well in girl’s bedroom designs. Here, semicustom cabinets act as a built-in around the bed, and drawers beneath the bed take advantage of untapped storage space.

My favourite minimal bedroom. A tranquil but bright space, painted floor-to ceiling in white. All the texture is in the layering of the fabrics, the crumpled linen and the tactile woollen throw. A simple bedside table holds a few bedroom essentials, with an unobtrusive light above for reading and one stunning picture is the focal point. Perfection. Image credit

The big debate was over who was getting what room. That was such a hard decision. I know lots of people just give the oldest child what they want. Being a http://entertainment.intheheadline.com/news/overstock-clearance-sale-company-stockclearanceguru-celebrates-successful-launch/0052164/ child, I don’t like that philosophy. I don’t know why being born first means you should get everything you want and being born later means you shouldn’t even be asked what you want.

In interior design, texture plays an important part in the way that we perceive how a space feels. For your master bedroom, you’ll want it to feel warm, inviting and cozy, among other positive attributes. You can easily bring a homey feel to the space by using plenty of textiles.

For houses tight on space but not on property, yurts (heavy-duty circular tents) can provide extra sleeping quarters for guests. Furnish with high-quality indoor furniture to make the small room feel like an extension of the house.

This is a bedroom we designed for Jaeden. It’s my favourite because it was transformed from a dull, and dark room to a bright, fresh and fun space! The room has subtle educational elements such as coloured 3D numbers and the hexagonal shaped shelving. During installation, Jaeden who was 3 at the time, learnt what a hexagon was. The book ledges are great for easy access to his books. He was fascinated by the monkeys which hung over his bed and referred to them as ‘monkeys jumping on the bed’. The room is practical with a trundle bed for future sleepovers. It has the quirky Kartell Componibili storage which acts as a bedside table. The walls are a neutral blue/grey that creates the perfect canvas for the pops of colour or allows for an easy makeover by changing the soft furnishings.

For grown-ups a bedroom is a place of tranquillity and calm. But do young children have the same needs? A bedroom is their space – a chance to distill their rainbow coloured personality into a single (usually fairly small) room. And children come with a lot of stuff – which usually means they’re living in the aftermath of a tornado of toys. Organisation is key – it’s all about creating order from the chaos without becoming a control freak. Which is why I love bedrooms with clever, inventive storage. The trick is to balance your desire for organisation with plenty of bright, colourful, child-friendly fun. Beds with built-in storage, slim-line desks and bookshelves are all great ways to use every scrap of space as efficiently as possible. The clever furniture and pops of colour in this photo are neat enough to please the grown-ups whilst still being perfect for the kids.
