In this Paris flat, London-based designer Tara Craig has used a strong, simple palette with devastating effect. The walls of the spare bedroom are painted in ‘Papaver’ by Adam Bray for Papers and Paints, with an imposing ‘Carlyle’ headboard from Ensemblier London upholstered in ‘Serpetti’ linen by Martyn Lawrence Bullard.
There’s no denying that it’s the wallpaper that makes this room. The pretty, ditzy print used to paper the whole room is combined with classic white furniture and a pale cream carpet to ensure the overall scheme is not too busy.

Try this little girl’s room idea for a shared bedroom or a bedroom with space for sleepovers. A curved design prevents the white built-in bunks from feeling bulky, while a smattering of carpet tiles add bright, fun color and soften the room’s flooring. Using carpet tiles is a smart move with girls that love to do arts and crafts; if there is a permanent stain on one tile, simply replace it.
The conversion of this Victorian terrace in west London was a collaborative effort between Thomas Croft Architects, John Cullen Lighting and designer Sarah Delaney. The brief for the kids’ rooms at the top of the house was to keep them light hearted and comfortable. Job done we’d say.

My recipe for a cool children’s bedroom involves 3 main ingredients: great storage, blackboard paint and amazing lights. I love this room because it works just as well for girls as it does for boys. The rock star/monochrome theme is always age appropriate – very important because in my experience kids grow. Fast! The hip industrial vibe is den-like and softened with tactile furs, comforting checks and a cosy rug. Extra twinkling lights at ceiling height add a bit of fairytale magic and nobody grows out of sleeping under the stars, right? On the other side of this room I’d install a bank of full height cupboards to hide all the cargo that comes with every child and also has a habit of growing with them. Mini rock stars might prefer a cabin bed or bunks and some extra spots and stripes in the form of soft furnishings would provide the X factor for me. Image Credit

Dark gray, navy or indigo blue, or dusky dark green are equally restful and lovely.
This light and airy bedroom looks like a wonderful getaway. The symmetry of the space and decor makes for a pleasing view and you can just imagine yourself watching the clouds go by through those sky lights! I love how the dark green tone and botanical cushion prints bring a little of the outside in. In my opinion, adding a feline friend will always make your space seem welcoming! Image credit
