Kelly Hoppen’s London house shows off her trademark slick, neutral style. The main bedroom, which has an internal window looking down onto the open-plan ground floor, features a neutral colour scheme of white and taupe. ‘You probably haven’t even noticed the other major thing I’ve done here,’ says Kelly. And it’s at this that I come to appreciate not only Kelly’s dedication to detail, but also her refusal to take herself too seriously. ‘I’ve mixed sand with taupe,’ she says with mock triumph.
A smattering of black stars shimmy across the walls and out the window in this modern kids’ room. It looks especially eye-catching painted on a brightly coloured backdrop. The idea also works well using animal footprints, which you can dot along the floor and over furniture.

The addition of a large basement extension to this Edwardian house freed up space on the upper floors for bright and capacious rooms, and a more fluid layout ideal for family living. Owners Dominic and Claire chose design duo Bunny Turner and Emma Pocock to decorate the home.
I like your gift in a jar idea. It’s something different, cute, an neat. I would like to do this idea as gifts for Christmas. Is there any way you can make a tag saying I just want to TEAL you Merry Christmas in the same font? I would greatly appreciate it.
The new kids’ collection for Zara Home is giving us some serious interiors inspiration. Not only do we love the dinosaur print bedding and sweet accessories but the sophisticated muted hues make a nice change from the primary colours seen in many of the high street ranges.
Add bold, summery textiles to a light filled room and you’re guaranteed a fresh, summer feeling all year around. We love the hanging lampshades in this room; even without bulbs they make a great feature.
Who wouldn’t wake up full of the joys of spring in this light filled, summery bedroom? If you can’t afford to fill your room with garden flowers don’t worry, the fresh floral textiles and painted white gloss floor (which reflects the natural light) will do the trick alone.
Wake up an old desk set with a fresh coat of paint, and add in a mirror to create an instant vanity. The top of the desk can hold a large spread of beauty accouterments as well as books, a laptop, and a notebook for study time. Add a few final touches by reupholstering the chair and decorating with girly accents.
The guest bedroom in Argentinian architect Mario Connio’s Andalucian farmhouse once housed a bread oven. Now it is painted a beautiful cornflower blue that enhances the relaxed Mediterranean feel of the room.

In Steffanie Brown’s 10-year-old daughter’s bedroom, interior decorator Henri Fitzwilliam-Lay has subdivided the walls for a sock-it-to-me impact, introducing a psychedelic cloudscape (‘Clouds Sonic’ by Aimée Wilder) above the picture rail and a restrained print below (‘Tile’ by Cole & Son). ‘She wanted a funky bedroom,’ says Henri. ‘I tried to give her what she was looking for, without doing something that would later drive you bonkers.’
Everyones saying these rooms look like hospital rooms, or rooms for little kids, or adult women maybey. But there not, maybey one or two of them are, but these rooms really would be great teen rooms. For people who could afford it, and have enough money to where they don’t have to be practical. So like i said before, these rooms are really neat, just not practical, or probably not even affordable.

Sara Charlesworth’s bedroom may not be huge, but great textiles, a chic bedside table and some fun accessories are all it needs. The fantastic polka dot bedding, FYI, is from lustworthy US store West Elm, which – rumour has it – is due to launch in the UK soon!
The owners of this west London house employed a skilled team to restore and complement its original features, and create a home with a feeling of permanence after a lifetime of moving. The house is a tall, mid-nineteenth-century white stucco building that they wanted to work well for twenty-first-century family life. ‘We were determined to avoid beige banker chic,’ the owner explains. A portrait by Betsy Podlach above the Howe fireplace inspired the palette for the main bedroom.
We discovered Room to Bloom’s clever cupboard bed via The List – House & Garden’s new online directory (find out more here). The bed is an ideal solution for an awkward small space – in this case, a long, narrow room interrupted by a staircase. It is built around the stair, and has ample storage for toys and books thanks to under-bed drawers, a bookcase and internal shelving.
Keep her stylish space organized by adding simple wall shelves. Narrow shelves in various sizes create visual interest in a bedroom and offer a simple way to showcase books, artwork and other knickknacks. It is hard to say how many times in my life I have heard the ‘no bed next to a window’ rule. It’s definitely more than a few. Fortunately, rules are made to be broken. If your bedroom is extraordinarily small, you might have limited options on where you place your bed. You can always find a way to put a bed in front of a window and make it look more awesome than awkward, and here we have one example. Thanks to the curtains which frame the window perfectly and the fact they go from wall to wall, the design achieves a luxurious and purposeful look. Symmetry is key here, as the bed lines up with the window in a pleasing, balanced way. The top of the headboard is perfectly in line with the window sill and is not obscuring the window. A calming palette of colours creates a cosy space with a seductive feel. Image credit
