cheap bedroom ideas for girls +wall mirror decorations

I love a crisp, clean, modern bedroom like this one from NylonPinksy. I love to switch up an ‘expected’ design of a space, with something unexpected like using two different lamps on the nightstands (as in this photo).

Colour blocking isn’t just a fashion trend. Start with one colour on the wall, then build your accent colours around it. Don’t forget to include neutral accents – white, black, grey and wood will help draw the eye to your carefully-chosen colour scheme.

Originally Rita’s room before the expansion of her London flat, the spare room has curtains in ‘Broadcloth’ felt from Hainsworth and is lined in Tyler Hall’s ‘First Bloom’ wallpaper from Tissus d’Hélène, with a Guatemalan tapestry that Phil brought back from his travels.

A teen will most appreciate an approach to their room as their mini, self-contained apartment where they can spend most of their time comfortably. Regardless of size, a teen’s bedroom needs to be versatile enough for them to spread out and get homework done, hang with friends, lounge and sleep, all while reflecting their personality.

Flea market lamps are one of the most affordable ways to add one-of-a-kind lighting to a tween girl’s room. Although found with a beige shade for $25, this brass lamp was updated with a black paper shade picked up at a big-box retailer for less than $15.

Bespoke with a fun twist, like these clever wall mounted boxes, can add character but also provide essential storage for toys and books. We like the contrasting pop of orange inside which is picked up on by the cushions and lamp too.

Typically when your daughter becomes a teenager she will no longer want to have her room filled with pictures of fairies, stuffed animals, or princess decorations. Instead she will begin looking for sophisticated teenage girl room ideas and designs so she can revamp her space with more mature décor. Whether it be new bedding, a fresh coat of paint, or even updated furniture, redecorating can become costly so you may want to look for cheap room ideas for teenagers. For example, painting old furniture yourself is a quick, inexpensive, and easy way to create a new and custom look. Paint the furniture a rustic pink color and then distress it to create an elegant and vintage look that is very popular among new 2017 bedroom design trends. Other fads for a tween bedroom include bright colors, geometric wall art, and modern furniture pieces. Storage space is an essential component of all teen girl room decoration so make sure to look for shelving units, trunks, and dressers. Alastair Hendy was initially reluctant to view the Grade II listed 16th century property From the beginning, however, the house took a grip on Alastair and, although much had been obliterated, the bones of the house were all original and he was able to see its potential. It would be the start of a five-year restoration project that involved Alastair taking a crash course in 16th century building practices and engaging local craftsmen. The cosy spare room has beds under the sloped roof to create relaxing nooks.

The main bedroom, with its en suite bathroom, is one of designer Nicholas Spencer’s great triumphs in terms of use of space in this Holland Park flat. The bed is positioned on one side of this division, facing the window, meaning the owners can lie in bed and watch the sun set. The walls are dressed in Fromental wallpaper, ‘Butterflies’, while a coloured handblown glass pendant light, ‘Spindle Shade’ (£475) from Rothschild & Bickers adds a shot of colour.

The master bedroom of a converted disused chapel in Somerset owned by artist Jonathan Delafield Cook and illustrator Laura Stoddart is decorated in a neutral colour palette of creams and whites with blue accents provided by the bedding and cushions.

I love the simplicity in design for this bedroom. It has ample amounts of floor to ceiling storage behind the bed, giving the rest of the room lots of free space. Having the furniture and storage the same colour as the walls makes the room look bigger. Bedrooms should be clutter free as it helps us relax and de-stress, this room achieves a perfectly calm space!

Designate areas in a bedroom for specific purposes. A cozy bench by the window is a sunny spot for reading. Big baskets on a shelving unit house toys and books in a central location. A small table in the center of the room can be set for tea with friends or can be used as a work area for art projects or studying.

My favourite minimal bedroom. A tranquil but bright space, painted floor-to ceiling in white. All the texture is in the layering of the fabrics, the crumpled linen and the tactile woollen throw. A simple bedside table holds a few bedroom essentials, with an unobtrusive light above for reading and one stunning picture is the focal point. Perfection. Image credit

This modern bedroom styled by Gabby Deeming was inspired by traditional Japanese rooms with Shoji screens and includes a simple yet elegant futon bed on a platform base from Futon Company. Simple sliding screens have been constructed with pine batons and papered with ‘Sansui’ wallpaper from Zoffany, a pattern of soft mountains. A modern ensuite bathroom houses C P Hart’s ‘Stand’ bath, which is propped on a steel frame.
