Pink and green are the perfect duo in this little girl’s bedroom. Floral fabrics and jeweled accents add an innocent and youthful feel, while still emitting a mature and grown-up style. The miniature chair and ottoman provide a cozy spot to curl up with a good book before bedtime. To inspire organization, HGTV fan ssd used white wicker containers to hold toys and accessories.

For a ballet enthusiast, dress the room in shades of pink, plenty of ruffles, and a few nods to her passion, such as a display of tutus and a piece of art, rather than a whole ballet-slipper bedding set and suite of accessories.

This is what was our playroom. I snapped a few shots right before we started moving furniture. I left the mess for you as well. ? You can pick up some great furnishing tricks from hotel rooms. Hotel room designers are masters of designing comfortable bedrooms for sleeping and lounging. Here’s a great hotel detail that will give your bedroom a touch of luxury. Add a pair of comfortable and inviting upholstered chairs at the end of a bed to provide a place for reading and relaxing.

This townhouse was designed for a collector and we wanted to ensure that every room particularly the bedroom remained elegant and classic while providing a backdrop for the magnificent collection of works of art and antiques. The antique carpet provided us with the initial inspiration for the colour scheme of the bedroom; we chose to echo its green tones throughout the room from the walls to details and furnishings like the cushions.

I love everything about this bedroom. It’s simplicity and minimalistic approach is what’s really appealing.  Those white wooden floorboards are just totally divine and make the room so bright and airy. I just love a room that has white walls and flooring because it is the perfect backdrop for adding colourful accessories. For me it also gives a sense of tranquillity.  Let’s not forget to mention the hanging light bulb, such a beautiful and simple feature. What I am also lusting after is the clothes rail. Having your clothes out on show gives it a feminine touch to your room and feels very Carrie Bradshaw – just to need to make sure to be super tidy! Image credit

All the square footage in the world won’t make a difference if it’s crowded with stuff. “Another trick that won’t cost you any money is to keep your room clean,” he says. “You can still accessorize like you would a larger room, but keeping out the unnecessary clutter is a no-brainer.”

With casual yet comfortable decor, a simple bedroom will make your guests feel right at home. Mount swing-arm sconces inside bedposts to provide easy reading light, and use lighter wall colors such as aqua to soothe.

I like interiors being minimalist, effortless and welcoming and this bedroom embodies all these things. I love the contrast of the matte black floorboards, the various hues of dark and light grey soft stonewashed linen to curl up in bed on a Sunday morning, the gorgeous atelier windows and the sheet of rusty metal casually lay against the wall and turned into a simple piece of art and a few of our favourite design books. There isn’t a magic trick to the layout of the small bedroom. “There’s usually an obvious main wall to put the bed, and I don’t like to get too clever as far as placement—like floating the bed frame in the middle of the room or at an angle in the corner,” says Humphrey. The designer also suggests placing the bed in the center of the main wall, rather than pushing one side up against the adjacent wall. “Having room to walk on either side is key not only for room flow but also to give you space to make your bed, if you’re into that sorta thing,” he says.

I all honesty, I don’t see how this is supposed to help make the most out of a small room. First of all, they just look like normal bedrooms. And anyay, I guess it’s not what I googled for. The reason I was looking for a post on how to maximize on small room space is because right now my bedroom is also my living room is also my office. I live in NY and I am SURE I am not the only person with this sort of living arrangement. Real estate costs. And quite frankly we are paying for every cubic inch of space in a room here in the city, meaning loft beds and over head storage and really anything and everything to maximize on space and provide order to a multi-purpose room. I don’t need to make my small space LOOK bigger. For what? I need it to feel functionally bigger, since I can’t actually have it bigger.

A dash of vintage, a sprinkle of whimsy and a drop of contemporary all seamlessly intertwined into this gorgeous kid’s room styled by Petite Vintage. The easy to reach storage space makes it easy to tidy up and keep things in their place. Plenty of floor space allows for freedom to move, play and imagine, and the bed frame creates a creative space within a space where dreams are made. The colours used are striking and pleasant and the warmth of the light enhance the colours and soften the geometric lines of the bed frame and the carpet. My tips for decorating a children’s bedroom would be to remember that fairy lights are not just for Christmas – use them in a child’s room to create a dreamy atmosphere and to not be afraid to mix vintage and contemporary styles.
