Proper wall art is vital to every space, but it may be even more important in bedrooms where there are typically fewer design elements to add visual interest. Whenever possible, use wall décor to anchor each of the distinct function areas in your space, such as above the bed, beside some seating and in the dressing space. Then, add other artwork to any walls that feel too blank.

The naturally subdued color scheme of rustic style is perfect http://24-7reporters.com/news/overstock-clearance-sale-company-stockclearanceguru-celebrates-successful-launch/0052164/ a small space. Use weathered wood, an interesting ceiling fixture, and whimsical touches like the faux animal heads in this enviable room from Peace Design to give your bedroom lots of interest.

No matter what piques your daughter’s interest, she probably needs plenty of storage for her treasures. Take a cue from the kitchen for organization. Kitchen cabinetry works well in girl’s bedroom designs. Here, semicustom cabinets act as a built-in around the bed, and drawers beneath the bed take advantage of untapped storage space.

This baby pink rug looks really cute, fluffy and comfortable to walk and sit on, which is perfect for a little girl’s room. The best part is that you can easily make one yourself. Bring a little nature into your room with silk plants, animal statuettes and baskets. Faux succulents require no care but add garden beauty to shelves and windowsills. Glass tabletop terrariums do well in a partially shaded area, like on a desk in front of a window or on a graduated set of shelves against a bedroom wall. Accent the look with country-inspired wall-hangings like longhorns and guitar case shelves. Finalize the theme with a few brightly colored fabric tapestries for a country-inspired bedroom that’s every bit as fresh as the outdoors. Hanging a few of your favorite art pieces is also an excellent way to decorate.

An elegant iron daybed provides a spot for reading in the day as well as a place to sleep at night. The colourful, characterful textiles and soft toys hung from the bed and walls keep it young and fun.

When last you saw my girls room, this is what it looked like. We had put their beds back into bunk beds. It gave them more floor space and more place to play on the floor. You can read more about that in my post about Girls Bedroom Ideas if you would like.

You may want to rethink your black-out window treatments. Embrace natural light, which will help a small bedroom feel light and airy. Layer drapes and light-blocking shades for style and optimal light control.

Pink and green are the perfect duo in this little girl’s bedroom. Floral fabrics and jeweled accents add an innocent and youthful feel, while still emitting a mature and grown-up style. The miniature chair and ottoman provide a cozy spot to curl up with a good book before bedtime. To inspire organization, HGTV fan ssd used white wicker containers to hold toys and accessories.

This room has a beautiful vintage/industrial style. A bedroom to me is a place to rest and to surround myself with calmness. This needs to be reflected in the decor. Nothing should draw too much attention. It needs to be laid back, full of natural materials, casual and cosy.

Plush carpets work well for bedrooms. Although they offer comfort and luxury, carpets are dust traps and have to be cleaned regularly. Stains can be difficult to remove and they are not durable as hardwood floors. If you choose to use hardwood flooring, be sure to invest in good quality area rugs as they can help to soften the look of the bedroom and add warmth. Tiles are another option, and work well in hot climate regions, as they help to keep the place cool. Vinyl and laminate flooring are also options worth considering for the bedroom.

Just because your bedroom is small doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun with the décor. Case in point: the bold striped walls in this otherwise quite traditional bedroom from blogger and designer Centsational Girl. It works beautifully thanks to the extremely limited neutral palette and lack of clutter or fussiness. If you like the general idea, but don’t want to go quite as bold, use two close tints of the same color to create your stripes.

For a more modern-day and also trendy appearance you could additionally wish to think about a leather futon. This sort of bed as well as seatsing plan is certainly modern looking yet flexible adequate to offer dual purposes. Leather futons are likewise best for studio apartments where home as well as sleeping room are often done in one.

Anyone who reads my blog will know that I ADORE dark, moody, inky walls so this bedroom image caught my attention immediately! Pairing that gorgeous deep teal paint with the rose pinks gives the room a feminine touch without it being ‘too girly’. The off-centered image gives a quirky touch and the white frame contrasts beautifully against the dark background making the image pop all the more. The teal blanket beautifully ties in with the paint, brightening the space, and the marble print cushion adds texture and is perfectly on trend! This bedroom is a grown up, beautifully modern, luxurious space that I would love to sink into. The only thing I would change would be the size of the headboard, the bigger the headboard the better in my eyes! Image credit

Last but not least I show you how to make a pretty pom pom flowers in a jar vase. This is such a cute decoration idea for your desk or a night stand… because who doesn’t want to have a beautiful flower bouquet in their room all year around?

There’s nothing like an in-house retreat to make a child’s room more fun. This girly teepee tent is small enough to include in interior spaces, while still providing ample space for her to sneak away into her own private hideaway. Design by Susie Fougerousse

When considering the design of your bedroom, it’s important to keep in mind both aesthetics and functionality. If storage is a primary concern, it is important to integrate the right cupboards and wardrobes into your design. The “Style” section of our website can help you decide with the right design as you can draw inspiration from various style categories, such as minimalist, modern, eclectic, colonial etc..

Energetic, fun and girly (without being too sugary), this teenage girls’ bedroom is packed with saturated colour, destined to make your teen smile (even if they won’t show you that). This space has a a grown-up feel, but isn’t too serious, courtesy of certain decorative flourishes that add a whimsical finish – we’re looking at the curlicues on that chair and the light-hearted prints on the wall. The end-of-bed storage bench is ideal for hiding clutter, too.

This is my ideal bedroom style, I love the use of soft and subtle tones with small injections of colour such as the yellow used in bedside accessory bowl and the brass used on those gorgeous twin wall lamps. Whilst the room is light, with a large window, the space is warm and welcoming with the help of a plush throw, soft sheets and a complementing headboard to the bed.  Image credit

Cool beds for girls don’t need to be castle-shaped or have a slide. Sometimes what makes a bed unique is where it’s placed. In this case, the perfect little nook. A happy shade of pink surrounds a sleeping alcove with year-round freshness. The peony pattern is charming for a young girl, yet mature enough to suit her well into her teen years. For a fun twist, pair girls’ bedroom colors, like pink, with a hint of teal. Here, a scalloped border of robin’s egg blue provides a sweet contrast for this playful pink bedroom.

Keeping the walls white in a girl’s bedroom will give you more decorating flexibility, which will help keep up with her constantly changing style. Have fun mixing and matching: Combine pink and red and introduce graphic prints and florals.

Bold window panels boast a flower pattern that includes lots of bright pink in this girl’s room idea. The custom coverlet’s red embroidery has a refined look that can stay with the room’s pre-kindergarten resident until she reaches college age. A queen-size bed with a custom-designed headboard fills the large area between a closet and dresser on one wall and built-in bookcases and window seats across the room.

Though it’s for two little girls, this room has plenty of grown-up sophistication. Crown molding, the fireplace mantel, and carved-wood bed frames are all highly traditional, but they are all finished in soft white rather than a dark stain. To create your own elegant room, stick with a palette of two colors, such as the sage and rose in this room.

When searching flea markets for dressers, keep in mind that nine-drawer and 12-drawer configurations offer enough concealed storage not only for holding clothes, but also for keeping things like books and diaries neatly organized yet out of sight. As tween girls start to yearn for privacy, it’s wise to supply them with storage for things they don’t want out on display.

I love the calming and clean atmosphere this space has, which I think is really important for a child’s room. As a Mid Century design geek I love the simple wooden mobile hanging above the cot, the print of the wolf cub matches the earthy tones of the wood and cushion perfectly. I also love the idea of having photography of baby animals in a kid’s room, its just the right amount of cuteness whilst still feeling a little grown up. I’m a big fan of Middle eastern textiles and I really like the slight juxtaposition of the candy coloured persian rug and monochrome block printed throw. I chose this image as it has a great balance of mature style with cute elements and I think a room like this could be easily adapted as the child grows up. Image Credit

My personal choice of colour palette frequently ebbs towards darker, richer tones during the winter months, because these tend to evoke warmth and comfort. This dark and alluring charcoal-coloured bedroom in a loft apartment creates instant drama and is instantly warmed by the blonde tones of the striking herringbone floor. Finished off with an exciting array of textiles, including a ‘must-have’ upholstered headboard, this bed is sheer indulgence. I also love the carefully curated collection of objects featured on the distressed shelving, and not forgetting the luxe-look side table. Perfection! Image credit

Sedate and restful are good, general concepts for adult bedroom design, but teenagers prefer a bedroom that’s fun and a signature of who they are. The number one response to what personality aspect a teen wants to express through their room was “creative”, while calm came in almost last. Bold, imaginative elements will excite a teen like nothing else. Some unique teen bedroom ideas that add fun to a room include:

This light and airy bedroom looks like a wonderful getaway. The symmetry of the space and decor makes for a pleasing view and you can just imagine yourself watching the clouds go by through those sky lights! I love how the dark green tone and botanical cushion prints bring a little of the outside in. In my opinion, adding a feline friend will always make your space seem welcoming! Image credit

Girl’s bedrooms are certainly not relegated to frilly beds and all-over pink decors any longer. Today’s girls bedrooms are as varied as each girl’s personality with styles, colors and motifs in an endless range of possibilities. I absolutely love this bedroom and it has actually inspired my own bedroom makeover. The bold use of indigo is classy and sophisticated and creates a sleep-inducing atmosphere. Blue is a very calming and soothing colour to use in the bedroom and can aid restful sleep. The use of chunky knits, Damask prints and patterned cushions adds to the cosy feel of this room. Image credit

This is my masterpiece for Snowflake. I made this desk and shelving unit for her. I will have posts on how I made them for you next week, I think. She loves it and it provides a great place for her to complete her school work.

Decorating a small bedroom can get extra tricky with odd nooks and corners. Use light, crisp colors to combat unique features like lower ceilings. Bright whites look luxe in any sized room, and even turn this slanted-ceiling kids’ room into a spacious play zone.

Windows in tween rooms are a great opportunity to experiment with design elements which may be considered too bold or risky for common areas of a home such as living rooms or entryways. Consider large-scale patterns in neutral such as black, white and gray. Should a tween girl grow tired of her wall color and decide to change the paint, the window coverings will most likely work well with the updated palette.

When Tom Siebens and Mimi Parsons took the decision to downsize from a large five bedroom terrace to a distinctly more compact space in west London, they enlisted the help of decorator David Bentheim to create a modern, practical scheme. The two bedrooms are both small but ergonomic with floor-to-ceiling cupboards and a distinct colour scheme to add individual personality. Here Gayle Warwick linen in lime green provides punch.

Today’s teenagers are design-conscious and up to date on the latest trends. But they’re torn between childhood and adulthood. Most teens have beloved toys they’re not ready to give up, but look for a room that’s older and more sophisticated than their childhood room.

The bamboo desk in the main bedroom of textiles designer Susan Deliss’ French country house came from Golborne Road, London. The curtains are made from heavy French linen, dyed a bright pink – here Deliss proves that pink needn’t be precious, it can be bold and punchy when used correctly.

‘He took time to consider each space and how the light falls at different times of day, making every angle, aperture and window a picture in itself. He created contemporary interiors that managed to contrast with and yet enhance the ancient setting.’ Here a Le Corbusier chair sits in harmonious contrasts to its medieval surroundings.

Mixing rich colours and pattern can be difficult to get right. Dark patterned blue wallpaper ‘The Brook’ from Morris & Co, which pattern continues around the room adds character and a playful feel. The bright ‘Red and Cream Stripe’ wool kilim rug from Sinclair Till lightly compliments the pattern and helps to balance and tie the room together.

In this country house in Norfolk with interiors designed by Veere Grenney, the Tudor wing is a glorious honeycomb of rooms for the youngest members of the family, where there are enough small beds for the most riotous of sleepovers. Four-poster beds, working fireplaces and generous armchairs make them gloriously comfortable, but the light colour palette, the brightly coloured modern rugs and the carefully chosen pictures and objects dispel any notion of stuffiness. Yellow is a great colour choice for childrens rooms: it’s bright, playful and most importantly gender neutral.

A favorite poem becomes art in this little girl’s room. And you don’t have to be an artist to create your own word art. Look for stencils and wall decals at crafts stores and online. Make sure the color of the lettering contrasts with the wall color to ensure your message will read loud and clear.

WoW! The bedroom by Samantha Pynn is incredible and perfect for us. I got married couple of weeks ago and we’re moving next month to our new apartment. So I was looking for special bedroom decoration ideas and got the perfect one!

Designer William Yeoward’s takeover of our June style pages, to celebrate the anniversary of his company, yielded a timeless scheme that celebrated his work past and present. The bespoke tented cupboard was created by Clock House Furniture from William Yeoward at Designers Guild fabric. The chest of drawers and the bed are also of William’s design, with bedding from The Linen Works.

Designers Cécile Figuette and Frédéric Bonnin of French brand Minakani Lab create wallpaper and panoramas that are larger-than-life, with motifs that repeat randomly and compositions that are light and airy. Printed in Paris, the wallpaper is printed to the client’s wall dimensions and some can be adapted to your own colour scheme. ‘The Wild’ (pictured here) is inspired by Douanier Rousseau and illustrated by hand in black and white. The entire wall decor is priced at €900, or is available in three parts for €300 each.

It is hard to say how many times in my life I have heard the ‘no bed next to a window’ rule. It’s definitely more than a few. Fortunately, rules are made to be broken. If your bedroom is extraordinarily small, you might have limited options on where you place your bed. You can always find a way to put a bed in front of a window and make it look more awesome than awkward, and here we have one example. Thanks to the curtains which frame the window perfectly and the fact they go from wall to wall, the design achieves a luxurious and purposeful look. Symmetry is key here, as the bed lines up with the window in a pleasing, balanced way. The top of the headboard is perfectly in line with the window sill and is not obscuring the window. A calming palette of colours creates a cosy space with a seductive feel. Image credit

Love the photos, really gave me some ideas on decorating my next flat. The bedroom in the new property is quite small but the walls are painted in a cream colour – will be easy to pick the right elements to decorate it. Since I’m a tenant, I’ll have to find non-destructive ways of decorating the place. I will also have to think how I’ll remove and clean the place when my tenancy comes to an end, but this isn’t a problem since London is full of shops and I have plenty of things to choose from.

Floor-to-ceiling windows ensure this child’s bedroom in Gytha Nuttall’s south London home is flooded with natural light. The internal windows also emphasises a feeling of height, which is much-needed here – the structure of an office space in a former schoolhouse was adapted to create this ‘flat within a flat’.

Hidden in a Somerset valley, this restored Georgian house was an irresistible challenge for its owners, who put together a team including architect Ptolemy Dean for the painstaking restoration, which won a Georgian Group award in 2015.

When it comes to bedroom furniture essentials, you will need a bedside table or nightstand (two if you are sharing your bedroom), a dressing table, a full-length mirror, and clothes storage in the form of a wardrobe, chest of drawers or both. If you have the space, a bedroom chair or end-of-bed bench is an added bonus, giving you somewhere to drape clothes or sit while you’re putting on your socks and shoes.

Keep yourself on track each day with a cool alarm or wall clock in your room. Match the colors of your clock to the colors in your bedding to instantly tie the entire room together. Or, pick a silver, white, black or gold clock to give your room a jeweled appearance. Set out a mini-fridge near your study zone, and you’ve instantly created a cozy learning corner that will encourage you to keep studying.

In this glamorous bedroom at Soho House Berlin, furniture is scaled up for the vast rooms. (note the unusually tall headboard.) Designer Susie Atkinson chose bold colours: burgundy and Dorothy Draper-inspired turquoise.

When it was time for our toddler to upgrade to his “Big Boy Bedroom” I knew I wanted to design something which would be able to grow with him over the years. The basis of the room is classic stars and stripes, which means we can mix up the accessories as his tastes change. Taking inspiration from our travels around America and their comic book stores we used bright red as an accent colour against greys and whites. Comic covers from our special dates; birthdays, anniversaries etc. hang on the walls next to handmade comic book bunting, framed posters and Superhero silhouettes, with lighting and canopies creating a cosy feel. Super storage solutions hide all manner of clutter and provide a great display area for favourite toys and books.

The small bedroom of this Georgian flat designed by Ben Pentreath is filled with an antique wood four-poster bed. Simple sisal flooring is a practical and warm choice for the floor. The window is covered with a Svenskt Tenn blind.

Young adults are hard to please so give them lots of input. Provide plenty of storage so there’s no excuse for mess, and make sure they have a good study area. Invest in a trundle bed for those sleepover parties, and let them keep their favourite accessories on display in mounted box shelves.

The main bedroom of Ptolemy Dean’s Sussex newbuild is decorated in shades of blue and grey. This soothing scheme is finished with touched of dark wood. The curtains are in a floral fabric by G P & J Baker.

Brown, white, and beige colours give Sarah Stewart’s bedroom at her refurbished 1786 cottage in Herefordshire a pared-down feel, emphasized by minimalist light fixtures. Her raised bed is a unique way to give the room a fluid sense of space.

Anna Potter’s bedroom is everything that I look for in a place to sleep.  Warm, calm, welcoming and homely. The dark grey walls and bed linen have a sense of calm, like a gentle hug, welcoming you to bed.  The oversized vintage map above adds a sense of drama and no need for a headboard.  The room is filled with history, a hand-me-down chest of draws, holiday souvenirs, and the owners own artwork on the walls.  vintage, comfortable and stylish space.  I could sleep there quite happily. Image credit

Even though not all of the design ideas have a particular theme, the decorating elements are connected, creating interiors that are both functional and stylish. See below, and also be sure to read 20 Fun and Cool Teen Bedroom Ideas.

Repurpose an ordinary bookshelf by turning it into a kid-friendly storage space. Here, colorful bins provide an easy place to organize kid’s stuff. Once your little one knows where everything belongs, she’ll be more likely to clean up after playtime on her own. Reserve the top shelf of the bookcase to display collectibles and picture frames. Tight storage space under the bookshelf can be reserved for oversized coloring books or posters.

The owners of this newbuild Bahamas beach house turned to trusted interior designer John McCall to provide their house with a British sensibility, practical furnishings and interiors that are not ‘too beachy’. In this bedroom white walls, ceiling, carpet and bedding is brought to life with patterned blinds, headboards and a colourful rug. All of the patterns are different, introducing an element of fun and vacation spirit.

This kid’s room by member of The List Room to Bloom features subtle dusty purple and gold accents against a neutral colour palette (see our white room ideas and how to use white paint). This design shows how to create a child’s room that is both magical and quite ‘grown-up’, which means there will be no need for a complete redesign within a couple of years.

This bed in the bedroom of gilder Clare Mosley and husband Mark Bicknell was bought in Paris. Its journey hasn’t been smooth. During the eight months it took to make the house reasonably habitable, Clare and Mark camped in one room and the builders worked around them. However, even this safeguard did not protect them from a few of the traditional building disasters. Having gone away for two days, they returned to find that the bed had been cut up and thrown out of the window and into a waiting skip below. Thankfully, it was saved. It is now resplendent with matching quilt, half-tester and cushions in ‘Mikado L2804′ by Le Manach.

Nestled into sloping topography, the design of this home allows privacy from the street while providing unique vistas throughout the house and to the surrounding hill country and downtown skyline. Layering rooms with each other as well as circulation galleries, insures seclusion while allowing stunning downtown views. The owners’ goals of creating a home with a contemporary flo …

Ideally, a bedroom should be a clean, minimal space for you to unwind in, but I also love how creativity has crept into this Scandi interior. Full of personality, this scrapbook/shelving arrangement complements the DIY aesthetic of the room and accompanies the hanging bulb light fixture perfectly. Framed pictures are non-existent but instead, a quick fix of inspirational imagery taped to the wall is the ultimate effortless decorative feature. I like how black accents can be detected from the tape, light and bedside table; bringing all of the decorations together, but still harnessing that spontaneous element. Image credit

‘We loved the cool, pared-down style of a house belonging to a Swedish art collector, which we had seen in a magazine,’ say the owners of this west-London terrace home. Enter Hugh Leslie whose unmistakable style gradually evolved the house into a smart family home. At the front of the house on the first floor is the pretty, generously proportioned main bedroom. Its walls are lined with the same buff-pink linen (‘Prelle Toile Barbare’ fabric by Alton Brooke) as the pelmets and the curtains, which adds an extra touch of glamour to the room. Behind it is the en-suite bathroom, with simple panelling, hand-built units and a walk-in shower lined in teak, which feels a bit like entering a first-class compartment on a vintage train.

A warm chocolate-brown focal wall adds an adult edge in this girl’s bedroom. To make the rich hue more playful and fitting for a young girl, HGTV fan wenbenoit integrated hot pink into the design scheme with sheer window treatments, storage ottomans and a stylish floral lamp. She kept the linens ultra-neutral to offset the bold color combination.

There’s a few things that are key to how you feel when you walk into your bedroom – mainly it comes down to floors, walls, furniture and decoration. If you’re renting you may not be able to touch the floors or walls and will have to work with what you have. If it’s your own house however, you may be wondering which colour to paint the walls so they go with your floors, or so you can make a small bedroom appear bigger. Pay attention to these elements in the photos.

Definitely prefer the classic looking bedrooms to modern. Although the modern bedrooms look artistic and clean, they look too cold for my taste. I like soft, warm colors rather than bold and bright ones for bedrooms. I think it’s because brighter colors make me feel more awake, but when I am in a bedroom I want to relaxed and be calm. When I was a little girl I had a canopy bed — the hangings always made me feel like I was a princess in a fairytale or something. Fast forward 30 years later, and I still want to feel that way…my bedroom is decorated with Victorian accent pieces from LookInTheAttic. They restore heirloom pieces and do custom finishing. I am quite happy with my bedroom, but my daughter is the complete opposite from me — she wants to have bright pink polka dots all over her room. What do you say people? Should I give in?

This small bedroom has dark green walls in Farrow & Ball’s ‘Olive’ paint. The single divan bed base is furnished with a ‘Casati’ headboard from Ensemblier London upholstered in ‘Faded Monochrome Teal Roses’ from Bennison. A limed wood antique commode is used as a bedside table, topped with a pile of books and simple glass vase filled with fresh flowers.

This girl’s bedroom designed by Petite Vintage Interiors features some must-haves for ultimate fun and style for little ones. Pastel colours are great in children’s bedrooms, mixing pastel colours makes it really easy to achieve a scheme that is soothing and still loads of fun. I love the pink and mint features that stand out in this bedroom! Next, the wall stickers are a great addition. They are easier, quicker and cheaper to use than wallpaper. Little dots, triangles or clouds are just some of the many choices available. Making storage fun is also important by using cleverly shaped side tables and shelves. The house-shaped shelf used as a side table here is a great example. And you’ll score highly on the fun factor! Image Credit

I’m a huge fan of simple and functional Scandinavian style with a monochrome and neutral colour palette. This bedroom is quite minimalist, but at the same time has everything you need to relax. I prefer all white bedding (linen bedding is my favourite!) which is in this bedroom combined with some black pillowcases to add contrast against the white wall. I love to bring some warmth into the monochrome interior by adding natural materials (like wood) and also green plants – both of which have been used in this bedroom. Image credit

When you’re looking for dorm inspiration for sophisticated room designs, we have plenty to offer. Mixing and matching black and white colored comforters, sheet sets and shams for a customized look creates a modern space where you can relax. A delicate bed of roses, striped designs and polka dot detailing is ideal for a dorm room. Striped rugs and throw blankets that you can layer on chairs or beds helps you craft a totally personalized look throughout the room. Adding velvet bow pillows in white, black or soft pink colors is fun for accentuating the overall theme of the room.

In the main bedroom of Ed and Polly Nicholson’s Wiltshire home, an eighteenth-century lacquered chest, which provides a contrasting tone, stands between windows with curtains in ‘Secret Garden’ by Raoul Textiles.

Gray’s sedate vibe makes it especially good for the bedroom. But when decorating with be sure to add plenty of interest to keep the look lovely, not grim. Take a few tips from the gorgeous room from Jean Stephane Beauchamp Design shown here; a strong area rug, an intriguing ceiling fixture, a luxurious velvet upholstered headboard, and a touch of fun in the skull-adorned throw pillow guarantee that this entirely-gray-and-white master bedroom is anything but boring.

i agree with lily and not any with lizzy cuz if your room is small than make it so that things can fit in your room but most importantly make it so its your style and that you will injoy going in your room every day. plus if you hated your room the way you desinged you would have to spend more cash witch you would not want. i mean these are really good desings that is on the website, and people will love these desings too but others wont but for me i LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE these desings. dont give up cuz of people who dont like these ideas, keep doing what you love cuz people like me love your ideas and other people do to and it would break there heart to know that you quit!!!!:) welp hope to see more of your designs! later! <3 For me, the bedroom is a space that needs to be calming, simple and light. I hate clutter around me when I want to sleep so the minimalism of this room appeals to me. I also want my bedroom to be as bright as possible in the morning to motivate me at the start of the day, so the white walls, bedlinen and the painted floor are the perfect combination as they allow the light to bounce around the room. I love the natural touches of the bulbs, the raw wood of the bedside table, the baskets by the fireplace and the beautiful crocheted blanket, which add touches of character to the room. This room is the perfect blank canvas for rest and relaxation. Image credit Young adults are hard to please so give them lots of input. We've seen some cool bedrooms before, but this dream design from a real home in Chalk Farm, London had us reaching for the 'Pin it' button on Pinterest at record speed. how to decorate a small bedroom for girls +bedroom and nightstand for teenage girls room

Bedrooms should be calming and seductive spaces, and this bedroom ticks both those boxes.  It has a calming, neutral pallet that is kept interesting through a mix of textures – wooden floors and ceiling, the white-painted brick wall, a sisal rug, a glamorous fur throw, and the marble bedside table.  The painted black wall adds another layer of luxury and glamour to this space, but the large, simple artwork keeps it from being too dark.  Interest to this monotone colour scheme is also brought in through the architectural style of lighting, and the pattern in the cushions.  All in all a perfect combination! Image credit

Decoration in a bedroom boils down to a few key elements: pick a theme, add interesting accents and a dash of contrast. In this case, the contrast comes from the more masculine chrome touches and button-detail cushion.

Butter yellow curtains are a pretty complement to whimsical gray floral wallpaper in this designer space. Bamboo Roman shades set behind the curtains add visual depth to the design, while a blanket and throw pillows add layers of pattern and color.

Vintage vanity is on the list for Squiggles’ room. I like the color of this one: Fresh coat of paint on vanity and recovering with a fun Amy Butler coral/orange print. Love keeping the furniture that I grew up with and giving it new life for Ava’s room.

Grey walls contrast elegantly with a wooden four-poster bed hung with a cream linen in this scheme, where simplicity and luxury are the name of the game. A Colefax & Fowler table lamp complements the soft grey wall paint, while the bed’s cream linen is echoed by the curtains. A sofa at the foot of the bed emphasises comfort.

Jamb director Henry Bickerton has revived a Victorian town house once strewn with pizza boxes with carefully chosen elements of English country-house style. In Henry’s son Archie’s bedroom, the striped wallpaper is from William Yeoward, adding a bright element of fun without compromising on the smart aesthetic of the house.

Well, my sister and I have been sharing bedrooms at two different homes for almost eleven years now, and my mom and stepdad are getting ready to build onto our house, which will give me my own room, of course my sister will bw gwtting a room with a door, a small closet, and one window, while I will be left with our ‘master bedroom’ so I’ll have the bathroom, a wlk in closet, and a two windows, i really want a new, cool design with pretty colors, i’de prefer no pink and purple, and a queen sized bed, though these are all wonderful ideas, my friends don’t have rooms this big, and my ceilings arent that high…do you have any ideas that might fit my room??

At the end of a long hard day there is nothing better than lying down on fresh bedding and crisp sheets, but how many of us have a conducive interior style in the bedroom? It’s hard to design a bedroom that is stylish yet functional and calming without making it look like a soulless showhome. I love everything about this bedroom. It’s simplicity and minimalistic approach is what’s really appealing.  Those white wooden floorboards are just totally divine and make the room so bright and airy. I just love a room that has white walls and flooring because it is the perfect backdrop for adding colourful accessories. For me it also gives a sense of tranquillity.  Let’s not forget to mention the hanging light bulb, such a beautiful and simple feature. What I am also lusting after is the clothes rail. Having your clothes out on show gives it a feminine touch to your room and feels very Carrie Bradshaw – just to need to make sure to be super tidy! Image credit

But I don’t know. I don’t know if you can help me, but thanks!

Virginia White’s harmoniously diverse decoration of Lucy Turvill’s award-winning newbuild in Suffolk includes this spare room. Blinds made in a Florence Broadhurst fabric dress the narrow windows. This blend of pink and purple is perfect for little girl’s bedroom colors that will grow with the child. Give the feminine shades a unique twist with thoughtful application. Pair it with soft neutrals and hints of periwinkle for a classic-meets-glam vibe. This room’s lavender walls, window treatments, and throw pillows work well for a teen, and later on it can suit a guest room. The classic furniture pieces suit either purpose, and simple switches can introduce more subdued accent colors.

The Nordic countries know how to nail stylish design that’s also kid friendly. Case in point? This adorable baby mobile from Danish company Ferm Living. It’s perfect when paired with traditionally Scandinavian blonde wood, but equally looks great with any baby room scheme. Scandi-licious!

Typically when your daughter becomes a teenager she will no longer want to have her room filled with pictures of fairies, stuffed animals, or princess decorations. Instead she will begin looking for sophisticated teenage girl room ideas and designs so she can revamp her space with more mature décor. Whether it be new bedding, a fresh coat of paint, or even updated furniture, redecorating can become costly so you may want to look for cheap room ideas for teenagers. For example, painting old furniture yourself is a quick, inexpensive, and easy way to create a new and custom look. Paint the furniture a rustic pink color and then distress it to create an elegant and vintage look that is very popular among new 2017 bedroom design trends. Other fads for a tween bedroom include bright colors, geometric wall art, and modern furniture pieces. Storage space is an essential component of all teen girl room decoration so make sure to look for shelving units, trunks, and dressers. Search our online photo galleries for images of cool teenage girl bedrooms and creative storage ideas.

Interior designer Virginia Howard had no intention of moving from Knightsbridge to Pimlico, until a balcony flat in a nineteenth-century garden square changed her mind. The bedroom is decorated in a pale green colour scheme. The elegant, Grade II-listed stucco building overlooks the garden square in central London, bringing the outside in. Two meagre bedrooms were knocked into one generous one, filled with light from the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Multipurposing will help a tween get much more use out of her room. To create a tween-height gathering area, consider using a coffee table in the center of the bedroom. Once guests come over, the low stature of the coffee table makes it the perfect spot to pull up a pillow and snack while playing games or reading books.

Colour and pattern both enliven and define this family home. The graphic red and white Vivienne Westwood wallpaper in the nursery is far more diverting than any mobile. ‘Small children seem absolutely riveted by it,’ says the home’s owner, interior designer Bunny Turner of Turner Pocock.

Decorating with multiple colours can be an intimidating task for even the most seasoned of designers. No matter how genuine our initial enthusiasm for venturing across to the other side of the paint chart, it is all too easy to get cold feet and talk ourselves out of being more courageous with colour, settling instead for safe, neutral schemes. Colour, however, shouldn’t be used exclusively to make a statement. Gabby Deeming set herself the challenge of creating four palettes from the Mylands paint range. Each palette is made up of four shades that would sit together harmoniously in a space, and work beautifully with textiles and wallpapers. The walls are painted in ‘Piccadilly’ and ‘Palmerston Pink’, £34.66 for 2.5 litres matt emulsion, while the floor is in ‘Honest John’, £21.65 for 1 litre water-based eggshell, all from Mylands.
