In this stylish children’s bedroom designed by Henri Fitzwilliam-Lay, a fixed and shaped box pelmet with curtains in a pale blue fabric is a smart choice as it will not be quickly outgrown when the children become teenagers. The overall effect is modern and elegant.

Who wouldn’t wake up full of the joys of spring in this light filled, summery bedroom? If you can’t afford to fill your room with garden flowers don’t worry, the fresh floral textiles and painted white gloss floor (which reflects the natural light) will do the trick alone.

The main bedroom of this old fashioned Hampshire house has large sash windows that allow views out across the garden and parkland; the wallpaper is George Spencer’s Palm Stripe’ design, while the bed curtain is in ‘Bergama’ linen by Robert Kime.

Kelly Hoppen’s London house shows off her trademark slick, neutral style. The main bedroom, which has an internal window looking down onto the open-plan ground floor, features a neutral colour scheme of white and taupe. ‘You probably haven’t even noticed the other major thing I’ve done here,’ says Kelly. And it’s at this point that I come to appreciate not only Kelly’s dedication to detail, but also her refusal to take herself too seriously. ‘I’ve mixed sand with taupe,’ she says with mock triumph.

Grey walls contrast elegantly with a wooden four-poster bed hung with a cream linen in this scheme, where simplicity and luxury are the name of the game. A Colefax & Fowler table lamp complements the soft grey wall paint, while the bed’s cream linen is echoed by the curtains. A sofa at the foot of the bed emphasises comfort.

Hi Courtney! Wow, what a great site you have here! So many awesome ideas in one place. My daughter started college this year, and when she gets a chance to come home we are going to the tie-dyed pillows for her dorm room. Thanks so much for the great ideas and keep up the good work! ?

Keep yourself on track each day with a cool alarm or wall clock in your room. Match the colors of your clock to the colors in your bedding to instantly tie the entire room together. Or, pick a silver, white, black or gold clock to give your room a jeweled appearance. Set out a mini-fridge near your study zone, and you’ve instantly created a cozy learning corner that will encourage you to keep studying.

House & Garden picture editor Owen Gale transformed his loft, turning the space into a bedroom, bathroom and music studio. Here is the bedroom, which has a ceiling height of just two metres. Farrow & Ball’s ‘All White’ was used to make the room feel light and spacious, while vertical tongue-and-groove panelling also worked to the same effect.

The concrete floors and exposed brick painted in white may create a cool warehouse feel but the nonchalantly styled books and pictures, as well as the texured bedding and soft throws keep the scheme from being sterile.

Don’t be afraid of the dark! Dark colours have become really cool in interiors and bedrooms are amazing spaces to use them. This dark blue creates a really dramatic space and draws your eye to the crisp white linen and the light of the window. Image credit

The rich, witty and wonderfully eclectic interiors of designer Nicky Haslam’s sixteenth-century, gothic-revival hunting lodge have long been coveted by all of us here at House & Garden. So when we heard was producing a furniture range for Oka, based on pieces from his own home, we were extremely excited. Following his motto ‘use something red and gothic in each room and you’re all right,’ the collection has ogees, points, tracery and quatrefoils a-plenty, offering the chance to recreate at least a part of his look. House & Garden shot the collection in situ at the house. Here in the bedroom ‘The Original Orangery Stepped’ bedside table, works beautifully with the vertical floral border on the wall (a lovely decorative idea for older houses) and antique chintz bed canopy.

A foundation of sleek white offers a modern look for this girl’s room, while vivid sherbet green and lipstick pink add youthful personality. While a two-color scheme is simple, sometimes adding a third color can make a kid’s room sing. This also lets you incorporate a favorite, of-the-moment color. In this girl’s bedroom idea, bedding with the room’s pink and green scheme features a bit of blue, which also makes a splash on the storage boxes atop the dresser.

The bedroom in this hotel designer’s west London home features a portrait of the owner, aged 13 by the artist Primo Potenza, which hangs above a mahogany table. Beside it stands a 1930s découpage screen by the surrealist painter and theatrical designer Leonor Fini.

Don’t be fearful of brights in the bedroom, they can look fantastic, but we suggest keeping strong hues to a feature wall behind the bed and choosing a softer, more calming colour for the rest of the room.

This light and airy bedroom looks like a wonderful getaway. The symmetry of the space and decor makes for a pleasing view and you can just imagine yourself watching the clouds go by through those sky lights! I love how the dark green tone and botanical cushion prints bring a little of the outside in. In my opinion, adding a feline friend will always make your space seem welcoming! Image credit

The spare room in this Georgian town house in Ludlow designed by Caroline Harrowby is papered in ‘Alderney’ from Colefax and Fowler. This adds interest to the space, which is light and airy – a fitting style for a small bedroom.

If there’s one thing that makes a bedroom, it’s soft bedding you can see yourself burrowing into. Get that right, then add a striking pendant light and statement nightstand for a look that’s the epitome of effortless style.

The washi tape is back. Not sure you should decorate your entire room with washi tape, but the door and light switch ideas sure are cool. Match them up with complimentary patterns and tapes and you are good to go with unique room decor that you can change when you no longer want it or find it to be quite as awesome as when you put it up.

This dresser area is all about Disney’s Aladdin with its rich purple and gold tones as well as little statue and hanging decorations. Using pretty gold necklaces as curtain ties will add a different touch, enhance the theme and obviously keep the mirror visible. homeliteracyblueprint.

Transform a nursery into a bedroom by introducing striped wallpaper and a patterned window treatment, such as this butterfly blind and matching voile canopy. The adorable doll’s house shelf finishes off the style.

Your bedroom shouldn’t just be the place where you sleep. Ideally, the space should feel like somewhere you want to spend your free time. One easy way to achieve that is by adding a seating area that you can use when you don’t feel like lounging in bed.

Ok.. these ideas are cool. BUT im 14 and i personally would not pick any of these for my room. Bold colors like these are going to go out of style. They seem cold and bare. The rooms are too big. A normal room would be around 11×12. I personally will not want bold colors, i wouldn’t want them because say when im 17 i dont want people to think im imature. A room should yes desribe a persons personallity but a room should transition easily from young teen to older teen. And people dont want to redo their room every year or two…sorry for being so harsh.

You can have a room that suits you during childhood and all the way up through your teenage years and adulthood, and that is by having a color for your walls that look mature as well as adorable. Then brush up your room’s design by adding elegant accessories such as grown-up lamps or pendants.

Mix in old with the new to craft a look that is as unique as your little girl. A monogrammed bedspread is a classic, but done up in magenta, it has a decidedly modern edge. Mod flower curtains contrast with vintage toile-print pillows. The curtains are hung at ceiling height to emphasize the large bold pattern of the fabric.

If you are a kind of girly girl, and you love to have your room dominated in pink, but don’t want it to look childish you can add an adult edge by having your focal wall in darker colors and then provide your room with pink stuff . That will give you the pinkish domination you want in your room, and it will not look childish at the same time, so you get the best of both worlds.

If you need to compromise on a decorating style for the master bedroom, consider colors that are neither too masculine nor too feminine. Play with patterns and textures: florals on the walls, velvet on the headboard, and striped accents.

bedrooms should reflect her tastes and style with a youthful yet more sophisticated look and need to be very stylish, modern, fashionable and vibrant with energy. If it is possible, you can get your teenager involved in the …

When it pertains to colors, you might discover that it is best to start with his preferred color. If the shade he has actually selected is too dark for the real wall shade, you can constantly repaint the wall surface a neutral shade and afterwards integrate his favorite shade into patterns, wall surface borders, etc

The bedroom is the perfect place at home for relaxation and rejuvenation. While designing and styling your bedroom, you need to keep a lot of things in mind, such as colour, soft furnishings, textures, flooring, furniture etc. All these elements can all be tailored according to your taste, allowing you to create the serene and tranquil haven in your abode.

I love the cool, calm feeling of interior stylist Pella Hedeby’s bedroom, with its abundance of natural light, crisp white linens and beautiful monochrome accents. The cladding on the wall behind the end offers the perfect framed display units for artwork and scented candles, and I always love a low console table at the foot of the bed for displaying coffee table books and keeping rows of footwear organised. As a baseline, selecting streamlined furniture is essential to keep the room feeling as spacious as possible and allow for storage and playing. If your kids are old enough, bunk beds are always an excellent choice. Whether L-shaped or vertical, a bunk bed is an efficient use of space and oftentimes has built-in storage underneath.

Consider introducing fun filled low cost novelties such as bean bags in jelly beans colors, bright colored bedding, funky lamps, attractive book stands or holders, vibrant window treatments, photo frames, etc. Alternatively, you may also spruce up things by employing distinct items for decoration such as a guitar, a golf stick, skateboard, old posters, trophies and mementos, artificial plants, etc. Also ensure to spread a bright rug on the floor as it is extremely useful for doing miscellaneous tasks.{pics from decorati, pbteen}.

Colours enhance your mood, so choosing the right colour for your bedroom can actually improve your sleep pattern. Green and blue are excellent bedroom colours. Lilac has a stress reducing effect, as does white. If cool things to have in your room for girls do decide to go for complete white walls, incorporating different textures and patterns can add depth and warmth to your bedroom. White bedrooms exemplify style and evoke a peaceful ambience. Incorporating natural textures and wood to white bedrooms will prevent your room from looking clinical and cold. Monochrome accents work well with white bedrooms too.

Enjoyed looking at the photos. Very inspiring. I like how you featured different colors – not just pink. I designed a fun tween retreat for the Spring Show in Charlotte that was packed with some fun ideas…(pardon me while i toot my own horn:-))

A warm chocolate-brown focal wall adds an adult edge in this girl’s bedroom. Spark your child’s imagination as they rest their weary heads with a fun ceiling hanging. Why not even create it yourselves? Simply invest in some colourful material, heavy thread and fabric paint and let your creativity run riot.

Blogger Rachel Denbow’s kids’ room is proof that you don’t need matching beds or bedding in a shared room. An eclectic mix of furniture (particularly when as eye-catching as this large display board) can be equally as stylish.

Tiny bedrooms don’t need to be boring bedrooms. Stick to a two-tone scheme (in this case, pink and white), streamline with clever storage and make a design feature with essential items, like books. A few well-chosen necessities in bold prints (throws, cushions, etc) will add some personality.

Have scrap wood going spare? Upcycle it into a new piece of furniture as a bedroom idea. The bed in this spare room, made from wooden mooring posts from Venice, was Anne-Marie Midy’s grandmother’s. Along with husband Jorge Almada, Anne-Marie owns design company Casamidy which sells furniture and accessories. The couple live in Brussels with their two young sons.

Schooled in matters of taste by her mother, when designer Emma Burns inherited the former stables that her parents had converted as a weekend retreat, she put into practice the principles that now guide her professional work for Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler. This cosy bedroom has beamed ceilings, and is furnished mainly with antiques.

Love the photos, really gave me some ideas on decorating my next flat. The bedroom in the new property is quite small but the walls are painted in a cream colour – will be easy to pick the right elements to decorate it. Since I’m a tenant, I’ll have to find non-destructive ways of decorating the place. I will also have to think how I’ll remove and clean the place when my tenancy comes to an end, but this isn’t a problem since London is full of shops and I have plenty of things to choose from.

Think neutral bedrooms have to be boring? Then take a look at this masculine, relaxing, and anything-but-dull bedroom from architect and designer Patrick Brian Jones. When the palette is quiet, clever use of subtle pattern adds interest without overwhelming the small space. A folded throw blanket in a contrasting hue adds extra oomph to the foot of the bed.

Most of these rooms are okay, but none of them gave me any idea wse on how to redecorate my room. First of all, every single one f these rooms are way bigger then mine. Second of all, who has that kind of money to buy all that expencive looking furnishing?

Wonderful ideas, and great tips. Beautiful decors. Wonder if you could share more ideas for tables for studying. I don’t like big tables I just would like to have a space where they can do their homework but don’t take up too much space. Thank you.

Hidden in a Somerset valley, this restored Georgian house was an irresistible challenge for its owners, who put together a team including architect Ptolemy Dean for the painstaking restoration, which won a Georgian Group award in 2015.

We love this. The dark purple and grey colour scheme, industrial-style light fixture (another example of the bedside light being hung from above, rather than placed on a bedside table) and dappled feature wall all combine to create a beautifully moody aesthetic.

This newbuild country house is a triumph of teamwork, with architects and designers collaborating to create the owner’s perfect home. Combining classical proportions and traditional furnishings with the informal elements of family life, this house in Cornwall has proved to be the perfect acquisition for its owners. The house was built in about 1840 for Reverend Samuel Wallis, a founding fellow of Pembroke College, Oxford, who inherited the estate and promptly commissioned Plymouth architect George Wightwick, a former assistant to Sir John Soane, to replace the existing house. An eighteenth-century bed in a spare room has a canopy and valance in a reproduction chintz to complement the period features.

Cool beds for girls don’t need to be castle-shaped or have a slide. Sometimes what makes a bed unique is where it’s placed. In this case, the perfect little nook. A happy shade of pink surrounds a sleeping alcove with year-round freshness. The peony pattern is charming for a young girl, yet mature enough to suit her well into her teen years. For a fun twist, pair girls’ bedroom colors, like pink, with a hint of teal. Here, a scalloped border of robin’s egg blue provides a sweet contrast for this playful pink bedroom.

Eventually, the sort of bed which you choose should be straightened with your individual style. If you occur to have a deep enchanting streak, you might wish to pick a canopy style bed. While canopy beds with 4 posters are amongst one of the most typical options, there likewise several various other choices available on the market also. For instance, you might want to pick a crown canopy, which does not use as much enclosure, yet still gives the hint of draping.

This girl’s bedroom designed by Petite Vintage Interiors features some must-haves for ultimate fun http://business.borgernewsherald.com/borgernewsherald/news/read/35871325 style for little ones. Pastel colours are great in children’s bedrooms, mixing pastel colours makes it really easy to achieve a scheme that is soothing and still loads of fun. I love the pink and mint features that stand out in this bedroom! Next, the wall stickers are a great addition. They are easier, quicker and cheaper to use than wallpaper. Little dots, triangles or clouds are just some of the many choices available. Making storage fun is also important by using cleverly shaped side tables and shelves. The house-shaped shelf used as a side table here is a great example. And you’ll score highly on the fun factor! Image Credit

I stayed at the Ludlow Hotel in New York’s Lower East Side last October and I instantly fell in love with my room. The stark black four-poster bed was the perfect contrast to whitewashed walls and beams. The industrial black window frames were dressed with heavy patterned pleated silk shades. The massive brass pendant lamp, patterned flat-weave rug, sheepskin throws and deeply veined marble coffee tables accented the decor perfectly. And the view of downtown Manhattan was of course unbeatable. Image credit

Unfortunately, that stable (if it is the pink one to which you are referring) is a doll stable. It is from Target. The brown fold out stable is a DIY and is also doll sized. I found the directions for making it here (http://beardollyandmoi.blogspot.com/2012/08/how-to-make-doll-ranch.html). Hope that helps.

If your ultimate goal is “cozy,” then work different textures into the décor. Stick with classic patterns (tartan plaid, checks) and introduce different colors with the bed linens, walls, and accessories.

I love the simplicity in design for this bedroom. It has ample amounts of floor to ceiling storage behind the bed, giving the rest of the room lots of free space. Having the furniture and storage the same colour as the walls makes the room look bigger. Bedrooms should be clutter free as it helps us relax and de-stress, this room achieves a perfectly calm space!

For those who have large space to spare, it is best to design a kid’s bedroom that is as large as possible. It gives them much needed freedom and there is a far lesser chance of him bumping his head into anything. This fashionable design in Grey, white and yellow does just that.

Decorating a small bedroom can get extra tricky with odd nooks and corners. Use light, crisp colors to combat unique features like lower ceilings. Bright whites look luxe in any sized room, and even turn this slanted-ceiling kids’ room into a spacious play zone.

While primary age girls could definitely aid in deciding regarding their bedroom decor, tweens and also teens can really help in the process of decorating their area. This could be a great bonding job for little girls and moms and dads. While working on the design of her area you may be rather surprised to find out something regarding her individuality you did not know.

Crystals are never the best idea around kids, but you can make an exception for a little princess’s room, surely. This pink chandelier is really beautiful and the princess of the realm will never really outgrow it.

If you need to compromise on a decorating style for the master bedroom, consider colors that are neither too masculine nor too feminine. Play with patterns and textures: florals on the walls, velvet on the headboard, and striped accents.

Here’s a small bedroom idea with staying power: Hang window treatments closer to the ceiling http://www.ktvn.com/story/37622080/news make a room feel taller. Don’t believe us? Have a partner hold up curtains to give it a try. It’s amazing to see the instant change such a small fix can make.

Snowflake’s new room! The concession for her getting the smaller room, was that she got to pick out a new dresser and I made a neat shelving/desk for her. Eventually, we will paint, get new bedding and decorate.

Her closet still has the curtains on it like we had for the playroom. We had to modify the shelving in the closet to fit clothes as we had built it for a playroom. We used a Rubbermaid closet system that can be easily modified because it has tracks in the walls. You can see what the closet looked like before in my playroom reorganization post. It has detailed pics for you. It cost just a few dollars to change out her closet to hold her clothes and still hold some toys and some homeschool supplies.

This monogram is another easy decoration DIY that you can make in no time and use in many ways. It’s as easy to make as getting a hollow letter block with the little girl’s initial and then fill the open space with fabric or paper roses. You can use it to decorate the walls or set it on top of furniture. lulus.

This beautiful soft industrial bedroom featured on the cover of the launch issue of Warehouse Home – and it’s been proving very popular! The original features of a warehouse conversion, such as exposed brickwork, can often feel ‘hard’ and ‘masculine’. Old and new steel furniture is especially striking in such spaces but can also feel cold. When styling the Warehouse Home bedroom (above), we wanted to prove that industrial chic can have a soft side. A bespoke galvanised steel pipe bed, designed exclusively for Warehouse Home by Inspirit Deco, was the focal point of our warehouse bedroom. And beside it, a vintage industrial bedside cabinet. We then used a ‘masculine and feminine’ palette of greys and blush pinks and a variety of textured fabrics (linen, tweed, velvet), to bring warmth to our bedroom and soften the industrial look. Select vintage accessories complemented the warehouse conversion’s heritage features, while flowers and decorative vintage glassware further enhanced the “femininity” of the space. Image credit

This room has this funny little corner. It works as a great place to set up a doll shop, house or barn yard. I also have hooks on the walls for her to hang up her backpack and any other bags. There are better pics of this corner and the hooks in the post I wrote about easy toy storage.

From the soft pink walls to the floral bedding to the girl’s bedroom wall decor, this bedroom embodies everything feminine. The simple look of the tufted bed complements the antique bedside table. Cozy floral fabrics and billowy window treatments look airy and soft with the natural light pouring into the room. Create contrast in this all-pink room with girl’s bedroom accessories, such as this ornate blue rug. The color grounds the room while the intricate details connect to the delicate decor.

While blue is often a go-to color for boys’ bedrooms, that doesn’t mean it’s no-girls-allowed. Take on this hue for a cool girl room idea. Whether you choose to go vibrant, pastel, or dark, use organic or floral prints, billowy window treatments, and layers of bedding to soften the look.

When it pertains to colors, you might discover that it is best to start with his preferred color. My girls are very close, like best friends. I worried about them being in their own rooms that it would break some of that bond. I worried about lots of aspects of them having their own room. I thought about it a ton. Maybe too much. It boiled down to the fact that they were staying up late EVERY. NIGHT. TALKING. So cute and so sweet that they had all that sister time and chatting. The issue is that they were staying up late every night and they were ALWAYS cranky and our house was suffering.

So glad you liked all the pictures! I love the laundry hamper as well. I think it is so cute. I think some day she may night like it because there isn’t any cover, but I bet I could create something. ? Yes, I will get to their rooms, hopefully in the next 12 months. I’m saving up now. Thanks so much for leaving your sweet comment! ♥

Repurpose an ordinary bookshelf by turning it into a kid-friendly storage space. Here, colorful bins provide an easy place to organize kid’s stuff. Once your little one knows where everything belongs, she’ll be more likely to clean up after playtime on her own. Reserve the top shelf of the bookcase to display collectibles and picture frames. Tight storage space under the bookshelf can be reserved for oversized coloring books or posters.

Your children are only young once so create a magical environment with furnishings and accessories that will kick start their imaginations. Curtained cubby hole bunkbeds are also a perfect way to give kids their own space.

Regardless of the paint color, it seems to be a rite of passage to plaster tween and teen walls with posters, pennants and other mishmash items. But tacks, staples and tape can wreak havoc on paint and drywall, and all of the visual details can feel chaotic. Solution: Designate certain walls as collage walls and put up large-scale bulletin boards, burlap-covered foam core or cork tiles (available in hardware and art supply stores) to protect the underlying walls and create areas where anything goes.

Make the most of your small bedroom by using furniture to provide the storage that many undersized rooms lack. Case in point: this lovely, shabby chic bedroom substitutes a small dresser for a traditional nightstand, and makes the most of a recessed nook with a china cabinet to hold linens, sweaters, and other bulky items. That’s smart and beautiful.

If you choose to decorate your bedroom with one hue, be sure to vary the shades to create a calming vibe. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns (florals and stripes live well together) to add visual interest.

Warm gray walls serve as a blank canvas to accommodate bright furniture and accessories in this little girl’s bedroom. Smart lighting choices have a big effect on how a small bedroom feels. Soft light coming from several different directions will blur the edges of your room and, in turn, make it feel larger. Just because a bedroom study space is essential for school or college homework, doesn’t mean it has to be boring. This bedroom corner has been transformed into a space you want to hang out in – it’s worthy of a lifestyle blogger, we think! Floating shelves house stacked framed prints and photos, as well as pastel accessories that look pretty while also functioning as organisational desk essentials. A marble-effect light and fur throw add a touch of luxury, to the slender desk that handily doubles as a dressing area.

Be smart about storage when decorating a small bedroom. Employ a nightstand with drawers and shelves and install a floating shelf above for extra storage in a small bedroom. Consider room organizers for small rooms for maximum clutter control.

I wish I had designed this room – I love everything about it. The bleached natural pine floorboards and tall white walls are a perfect canvas for those pretty vintage pieces and more colourful toys. With a restrained colour palette like this, a child’s room always look stylish, no matter how messy it is. I love kids’ rooms that aren’t filled with matching furniture sets from children’s ranges. Finding meaningful, beautiful pieces gives kids’ rooms personality – it takes time, but this is how the best interiors develop, organically. Quirky details such as the hat collection add fun, whilst the unexpectedly small and contrasting orange pendant adds punch to this calm monochrome scheme. One for the colour-shy teenage girls out there – some girls just know from the get-go that monochrome is the epitome of chic style. Apart from the lack of colour, there is nothing retiring about this bedroom though, which mixes pattern like nobody’s business to amazing effect. We are particular fans of that striped drawer unit – ideal for storing a growing wardrobe and make-up collection!

I would describe this bedroom as ‘cosy contemporary’ and it’s the sort of space I could relax in at the end of a busy day.  It is fairly minimalist, but not as stark as a white or grey bedroom, with an on trend geo pattern and a soft colour palette, with some warmth from the brass lamp and wooden side table.  I also love the white painted floor boards and think it is a look that could be quite easy to re-create. Image credit

Give a simple four-poster bed a sweet update with girly curtains and bedding. Pink fabrics keep the scheme girly, while the off-white walls mean that it can be updated as the child grows. Opt for a trundle bed for extra space when friends come to stay, and display their favourite toys proudly in a white-painted shelving unit.

Breaking away from traditional girl colors, this room has a modern vibe with its shades of orange — ranging from sherbet to pumpkin — and shocks of electric blue. Girl appeal is added with floral prints, which are graphic rather than flowery, keeping with the modern design.

Unless you have a budget that permits new furniture every few years, you’ll want to choose a bedroom set that grows up with your daughter. The room shown here is delightful now — what young girl wouldn’t love all the polka dots and the wonderful dog poster?  — but the basic white furniture will have no problem handling a more mature palette, bedding, and accessories when the teen years arrive.

For a much more one-of-a-kind and contemporary look, consider a bed with blended products. Blended timber as well as metal headboards in a range of designs are presently quite prominent. These types of beds look fantastic with strong bed linens in addition to geometric patterns. Wood beds can quickly offer a typical appearance or an extra modern look relying on the style and also the accents and bed linen that are used combined with them.

When decorating a tween girl’s room, don’t be afraid to pack it with pattern. Introduce different prints by layering patterns similar in color yet different in scale. An excellent rule of thumb is to stick with one large-, one medium- and one small-scale pattern. This will ensure the layered look appears balanced rather than busy.

A mounted wall mirror and stowable fabric storage give this vanity a second use as a desk for homework or studying. This is a great choice for a teenage girl’s bedroom, as having a separate desk and vanity cuts into valuable room real estate in all but the largest bedrooms. The fluffy fur rug makes the area more hospitable and creates clear definition of where the space begins and ends, turning it into one element of the whole room. A glass top makes for a modern look and pairs well with the clear chair, but also serves a second purpose as an easily cleanable surface for makeup messes or study snack spills.

Pop Art’s bold imagery is great for teen girls who want their bedroom decor to make strong statement. This room, with its punchy lip-motif repeat wallpaper, Warhol-inspired cushion fabric, and piped satin headboard has a cinematic quality that film and art-lovers will appreciate.

Very informative article. I highly suggest you check out this. With a few straightforward and practical design changes, you can create extra space or at least an illusion of it in your smaller living space.

Although your bedroom color scheme is often a personal opinion, there are some paint colors that are more relaxing and better suited for your sleeping area. Studies have found that people with blue bedrooms often get more sleep because of the calmness it elicits. Brighter colors may lead to a better mood, but they also might keep you up longer at night. If you have a significant other with opposing tastes, consider master bedroom colors falling within the neutral range — such as variations of green, gray or brown — to keep everyone happy. Sharing many bedroom pictures that you’ve saved to your ideabook can be a great way to help your significant other get a sense of your bedroom remodeling ideas.

What a view! Admittedly, only a lucky few can call an ocean front bedroom their own. However, this bedroom is not just about the view. In my opinion it perfectly interprets what I call the key elements of successful bedroom design: clean lines and uncluttered surfaces in combination with warm materials, rich textures and soothing colours. Add a few pools of light and you got yourself the perfect recipe for a cosy haven of relaxation. In this particular bedroom they took it a further notch up by adding the element of fire, creating a truly harmonious environment and perfect balance. Image credit

As with any seating area, it’s important to identify which function it will fulfill. If you like to curl up with a good book, place a stately armchair next to a bookcase. If you’re all about catching up on your favorite shows, look for a loveseat or daybed that will give you room to stretch out.
