My favourite minimal bedroom. A tranquil but bright space, painted floor-to ceiling in white. All the texture is in the layering of the fabrics, the crumpled linen and the tactile woollen throw. A simple bedside table holds a few bedroom essentials, with an unobtrusive light above for reading and one stunning picture is the focal point. Perfection. Image credit

As a teenage girl, I can honestly say that the only two rooms which appeal to me in any way are the tenth one and the last one. The rest look like a marshmallow vomited on them. Stereotypical and kinda disgusting.

Anna Potter’s bedroom is everything that I look for in a place to sleep.  Warm, calm, welcoming and homely. The dark grey walls and bed linen have a sense of calm, like a gentle hug, welcoming you to bed.  The oversized vintage map above adds a sense of drama and no need for a headboard.  The room is filled with history, a hand-me-down chest of draws, holiday souvenirs, and the owners own artwork on the walls.  A vintage, comfortable and stylish space.  I could sleep there quite happily. Image credit

Unless you have a budget that permits new furniture every few years, you’ll want to choose a bedroom set that grows up with your daughter. The room shown here is delightful now — what young girl wouldn’t love all the polka dots and the wonderful dog poster?  — but the basic white furniture will have no problem handling a more mature palette, bedding, and accessories when the teen years arrive.

I love so much about this baby/toddler room interior. The bunting across the blind really sets a tone for the room and I love the lights hanging off of the ladder, they add a touch of warmth and cosiness to the room – which is exactly how every baby or child’s room should feel. I love that the floors and walls are bright. There’s a blue, white and grey theme which is fantastic because it suits a young baby as well as being grown up enough for a toddler. We’re re-doing our boys’ rooms this year and this image among others is where we’re taking inspiration from. I plan to use a light laminate floor like here and opt for light walls too, contrasting it by using colourful accessories. I think that when it comes to children’s interiors it’s fine to want to go modern, but it’s important to make sure that the room both reflects your child’s personality and is fun and young at the same time. By the time you add dressers, nightstands, armoires and a bed, your sleeping space can easily get cramped — this is why figuring out the proper layout is essential to achieving the ideal bedroom design. The ultimate goal is to create a room that provides enough storage, yet still has enough space to move around.

I wanted this nursery to be a tranquil yet timeless space. The combination of subtle greys, soft pinks and white furniture is timeless and effortlessly stylish and ensures longevity. Taking inspiration from the vintage wallpaper tree art, I have accented this with brighter pinks and lime greens to punctuate the scheme and add freshness. The cotton curtains, have a playful embroidered band across the bottom featuring cats and birds, adding interest and fun to the scheme and contrasting well with the brighter pink linen blind. There is a useful mix of both open and closed storage. Contemporary glitter room ideas (such as the bunny nightlight and the grey acrylic storage stool) are mixed with vintage finds (including the wallpaper used for the tree and the antique children’s books) to create a unique room and one that complements the rest of the home. A sweet sanctuary.

I adore white painted walls and then really experimenting with pattern and colour in the soft furnishings and bedroom accessories. Floral patterns are always a favourite of mine for a feminine look and the brighter the colours the better. The informal group of pretty postcards fixed with washi tape is super cute and I like being able to easily change the display to suit my mood and the season. The look is a little bit granny chic so suits my love of hunting for eclectic items in charity shops. Even on a dull day this bedroom would cheer me up. Image credit

Rustic style bedrooms: Rustic style bedrooms are all about solid wood, which can be used with bed frames, timber walls, flooring and even ceilings. Rustic bedroom décor combines well with minimalist designs. White walls, black and white furniture and green accents, large wall hangings and accessories, combine perfectly with hardwood flooring, for medium to large sized bedrooms.

Gray’s sedate vibe makes it especially good for the bedroom. But when decorating with gray, be sure to add plenty of interest to keep the look lovely, not grim. Take a few tips from the gorgeous room from Jean Stephane Beauchamp Design shown here; a strong area rug, an intriguing ceiling fixture, a luxurious velvet upholstered headboard, and a touch of fun in the skull-adorned throw pillow guarantee that this entirely-gray-and-white master bedroom is anything but boring.

Brighten up a neutral children’s room with splashes of colour. Chunky pink letters are mounted on the wall and delicate butterflies hang from the ceiling, giving the scheme an extra girly touch. Keep clutter to a minimum with a storage unit in playful colours.

Of course, the first textiles that spring to mind are the bedding. But don’t just settle for any set. Layer multiple materials — think down, silk and shearling — to create a space that you never want to leave. Then, warm up the rest of the room by putting down a throw rug or adding a blanket to your seating area.

Most people want their bedroom to be a soothing, restorative retreat. If that’s your goal, then consider green and white for your palette. Add in botanical touches in the bedding, as in the room from Viscusi Elson Interior Design shown here, along with a showstopper sunburst mirror, stylish Roman shades, and cottage-casual white furniture, and the result is a room that calms your mind and refreshes your senses. Beautiful.

A school uniform chair would be a truly special feature for any child or teenager’s room – uniform, sports kit, brownies, cubs, a favourite party dress, any outfit can become an eye-catching piece of furniture with a little imagination. Here, I used a digital fabric design and combined it onto my favourite style of armchair. This would work equally well on any style of chair, sofa or interior furnishing! I think this is a wonderfully quirky design that features a fabulous twist on a special part of your child or teenager’s life, making sure that the memories of their happiest years live on forever… Custom-designed chairs, lampshades, cushions and wallpaper designs are a fantastic edition to any child’s bedroom and provide high quality, extremely comfortable pieces that will make your bedroom design truly unique and memorable.

For shared bedrooms where the occupants don’t see eye to eye on color, find one hue that appeals to both parties and let each choose an accent color. For multi-hue schemes, include plenty of white to tame the color confluence, like the white furniture in this cute girl bedroom idea.

This compact children’s room is brightened up with soft pink walls, while the dark wooden beams add definition as well as providing natural shelving. White furniture is ideal for giving the impression of more space in a small scheme.

We recently updated my 8 year old’s bedroom and Pinterest was a great source of inspiration for me. She has a small room and I wanted to make the most of the space and decorate it in a way that would see her through her pre-teen years. I’m a huge fan of white walls and light spaces that can be brought to life with a splash of colour and styled with a bit of black too – you can’t go wrong with monochrome! This picture inspired me when I was putting her room together. I love that there is a place of everything but it still looks stylish AND lived in. The monochrome styling mixed with the pops of colour and a few kitsch accessories all work so well together. Image Credit

I love the cool, calm feeling of interior stylist Pella Hedeby’s bedroom, with its abundance of natural light, crisp white linens and beautiful monochrome accents. The cladding on the wall behind the end offers the perfect framed display units for artwork and scented candles, and I always love a low console table at the foot of the bed for displaying coffee table books and keeping rows of footwear organised. Bedding can make or break a space, especially in a tween girl’s room where anything too cute can be too juvenile and anything too highbrow can be too adult. Instead of traditional florals, add an updated touch to a tween girl’s bedscape with overscale botanical prints.

All the square footage in the world won’t make a difference if it’s crowded with stuff. “Another trick that won’t cost you any money is to keep your room clean,” he says. “You can still accessorize like you would a larger room, but keeping out the unnecessary clutter is a no-brainer.”

You can paint the ceiling in any bedroom, of course, but it’s an especially fun touch for a child’s bedroom. This girl’s room, found on JWS Interiors, is a pretty space filled with great touches like the chandelier, hanging chair, and shaggy rug, but it’s the circus-tent stripes on the ceiling that really kick up the whimsy.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful ideas to decorate our bedroom with amazing designed furniture. sometimes we have attractive furniture but not that ideas that how can we decorate our room. your ideas are really very useful in such type of situations.

I love the calming look of this bedroom and the use of natural textures and images. The bedding colour palette of pale grey and blush pink works beautifully together and helps evoke a peaceful atmosphere.  For me, a cosy bedroom incorporates plenty of pillows and cushions on the bed and a throw to add extra warmth, and different textures add interest. The icing on the cake is the stunning forest wall mural. It’s got a magical feel to it and transports you to another place. Even if you’re living in the middle of a city, you’d get that fantastic view when you get out of bed in the morning. Hanging a mirror on the opposite wall would ensure you could see the trees from the bed too! Image credit

In a girl’s bedroom with plenty of bold colors and prints, scale back the wall color to invite serenity into the space. Look for a white with undertones of a color used in the room. Here, a white with a pink cast provides a break in the action while blending with the room’s cheeky pink accents. The little girl’s bedroom furniture provides a stark difference to the pastel walls.

I all honesty, I don’t see how this is supposed to help make the most out of a small room. First of all, they just look like normal bedrooms. And anyay, I guess it’s not what I googled for. The reason I was looking for a post on how to maximize on small room space is because right now my bedroom is also my living room is also my office. I live in NY and I am SURE I am not the only person with this sort of living arrangement. Real estate costs. And quite frankly we are paying for every cubic inch of space in a room here in the city, meaning loft beds and over head storage and really anything and everything to maximize on space and provide order to a multi-purpose room. I don’t need to make my small space LOOK bigger. For what? I need it to feel functionally bigger, since I can’t actually have it bigger.

What fun to see into your girls room! It will also be fun to see the progress you make in them. Maybe you could of had the girls toss a coin over the large room. Leaving it up to chance then dissolves any bitterness towards a parent who made the calll. I heard this parenting advice years ago and it works great in situations like this where there seems to be no right answer. I might add though firstborn children had a special inheritance in bible days. They are the “first fruit” from the womb and God treats them a bit differently. You may want to look it up, it is a bit hard for me to explain. Just so you know I am a middle child, so I have those issues! I am a mom of 4 boys so I know it is hard to treat them equally, and also realize they are different! We have an en-suite bedroom with a bathroom which my oldest used until he moved away from college. Then my 2nd oldest moved in and will be there until he moves out. And so on it will go. It works for us! Have a lovely weekend!

An elegant iron daybed provides a spot for reading in the day as well as a place to sleep at night. The colourful, characterful textiles and soft toys hung from the bed and walls keep it young and fun.

I’m all about maximizing the use of space! Maybe, this is of interest, I recently hired Furnishr to design my living room. She wants her room to be a peachy pink and brown…a cowgirl theme. We needed a hamper for one of the girls rooms. I found this in the summer outdoor Smith & Hawken stuff at Target. While not a traditional hamper, it fits the space and the eventual theme well. It has worked well so far.

Prior to this tween girl’s bedroom redesign, the walls were covered in bright lilac paint, which gave it more of a little girl’s identity. In order to make pictures of young girls with tits in their bedroom cool enough for a tween yet classic enough for parents, the space would be painted a dark shade of violet, the dated wall-to-wall carpet would be replaced with gray-toned vinyl plank flooring and the childish furniture would be swapped out for colorful vintage pieces.

Many little girl’s bedroom themes can be loud or trendy rather than timeless. If you’d rather avoid them, look for more subtle ways to incorporate a child’s interests or hobbies. For a ballet enthusiast, dress the room in shades of pink, plenty of ruffles, and a few nods to her passion, such as a display of tutus and a piece of art, rather than a whole ballet-slipper bedding set and suite of accessories.

For a more modern-day and also trendy appearance you could additionally wish to think about a leather futon. This sort of bed as well as seatsing plan is certainly modern looking yet flexible adequate to offer dual purposes. Leather futons are likewise best for studio apartments where home as well as sleeping room are often done in one.

A black and white colour scheme isn’t usually associated with kids’ rooms but, if your daughter’s not a girly-girl, a monochrome palette, accessorised with bright hues in green or red, is a great alternative to pinks.

Love the photos, really gave me some ideas on decorating my next flat. The bedroom in the new property is quite small but the walls are painted in a cream colour – will be easy to pick the right elements to decorate it. Since I’m a tenant, I’ll have to find non-destructive ways of decorating the place. I will also have to think how I’ll remove and clean the place when my tenancy comes to an end, but this isn’t a problem since London is full of shops and I have plenty of things to choose from.

Ideally, a bedroom should be a clean, minimal space for you to unwind in, but I also love how creativity has crept into this Scandi interior. Full of personality, this scrapbook/shelving arrangement complements the DIY aesthetic of the room and accompanies the hanging bulb light fixture perfectly. Framed pictures are non-existent but instead, a quick fix of inspirational imagery taped to the wall is the ultimate effortless decorative feature. I like how black accents can be detected from the tape, light and bedside table; bringing all of the decorations together, but still harnessing that spontaneous element. Image credit

There is no reason at all that a small bedroom – even a really tiny bedroom – can’t be every bit as gorgeous, relaxing, and just plain full of personality as a much larger space. (As proof, check out the elegant bedroom from Laura Stein Interiors shown here.) The trick to creating a lovely bedroom when square footage is limited is to make smart use of the space you do have, keep furnishings scaled to the room, and most of all, not be afraid to show off your decorating chops.

Speaking of…under the bed storage such as rollaway drawers is always helpful in creating more space and can hold seasonal or limited use items. Storage chests with cushions can be used as a seat to a play table as well as conceal a mountain of toys. A wall unit with drawers can pull double duty as a dresser and desk.

There isn’t a magic trick to the layout of the small bedroom. “There’s usually an obvious main wall to put the bed, and I don’t like to get too clever as far as placement—like floating the bed frame in the middle of the room or at an angle in the corner,” says Humphrey. The designer also suggests placing the bed in the center of the main wall, rather than pushing one side up against the adjacent wall. “Having room to walk on either side is key not only for room flow but also to give you space to make your bed, if you’re into that sorta thing,” he says.

Along with futons, daybeds additionally create a flexible seats and also resting option for spare spaces and also guest areas. Trundle beds, which turn up, can increase the amount of resting room you have the ability to offer guests. Making an office as well as extra room even more flexible take into consideration using an armoire computer workdesk that can be conveniently closed so your workplace is shut and also concealed from sight when you have guests investing the night.

The bedroom is a place when you should be able to relax, rest and sleep well. The space therefore should be simple, clean and uncluttered. Ban all the unnecessary items and focus on the essentials – comfy pillows, soft bedding, good light for reading, and small bedside table to keep your books and water carafe. Create a space where you can rest your eyes and calm your mind, and it means white walls and no busy patterns. I am drawn to this bedroom because of the colour palette – all in soft brown tones. There is a feeling of calm and the crumpled linen looks very inviting. The only decoration it needs is a single artwork on the wall. The beauty here is in simplicity. Image credit

Think neutral bedrooms have to be boring? Then take a look at this masculine, relaxing, and anything-but-dull bedroom from architect and designer Patrick Brian Jones. When the palette is quiet, clever use of subtle pattern adds interest without overwhelming the small space. A folded throw blanket in a contrasting hue adds extra oomph to the foot of the bed.

I have chosen this image because, as a Mum of 3-year-old boy and girl twins, this is such a great example of how to style a shared bedroom. Not only do the colours complement each other so well, but the room looks matched, even though it is for both sexes. The shelving is perfect for storing toys and books, and they can accessorize it with their own items. I am drawn to the simplicity of the design, and contemporary style especially as we now live in a modern new build home. My tips for styling a twins’ shared room is to keep it simple, use colour schemes that complement each other and involve the children in the process – as they usually like to have a say in what they prefer! When it was time for our toddler to upgrade to his “Big Boy Bedroom” I knew I wanted to design something which would be able to grow with him over the years. The basis of the room is classic stars and stripes, which means we can mix up the accessories as his tastes change. Taking inspiration from our travels around America and their comic book stores we used bright red as an accent colour against greys and whites. Comic covers from our special dates; birthdays, anniversaries etc. hang on the walls next to handmade comic book bunting, framed posters and Superhero silhouettes, with lighting and canopies creating a cosy feel. Super storage solutions hide all manner of clutter and provide a great display area for favourite toys and books.

For me, the bedroom is a space that needs to be calming, simple and light. I hate clutter around me when I want to sleep so the minimalism of this room appeals to me. I also want my bedroom to be as bright as possible in the morning to motivate me at the start of the day, so the white walls, bedlinen and the painted floor are the perfect combination as they allow the light to bounce around the room. I love the natural touches of the bulbs, the raw wood of the bedside table, the baskets by the http://celebwired.com/news/overstock-clearance-sale-company-stockclearanceguru-celebrates-successful-launch/0052164/ and the beautiful crocheted blanket, which add touches of character to the room. Small bedrooms are often short on storage, so take advantage of every inch of wasted space. Rather than painting the wall behind the crib one color, why not get creative with paint and go for three or four colors? Horizontal or vertical stripes are super dramatic. What a view! Admittedly, only a lucky few can call an ocean front bedroom their own. However, this bedroom is not just about the view. In my opinion it perfectly interprets what I call the key elements of successful bedroom design: clean lines and uncluttered surfaces in combination with warm materials, rich textures and soothing colours. Add a few pools of light and you got yourself the perfect recipe for a cosy haven of relaxation. In this particular bedroom they took it a further notch up by adding the element of fire, creating a truly harmonious environment and perfect balance. Image credit

Emphasize a soaring ceiling with a showstopping theme. In this playful room, alternating stripes of sky and baby blues creates a tentlike ceiling treatment. A fun theme like this makes room for cool beds for girls. A classic four-poster bed has long-lasting style, while freestanding furniture—such as the desk, chair, and bookshelf—can be replaced or upcycled as she grows older.

A teenage girl bedroom would mostly look beautiful and a place to take refuge in when it is given a royal touch. A daughter or in our case here, twin daughters, are princess for their parents. Giving them a room with a royal theme only enhances that bond. Beautifully draped beds and footstools make up a great sleeping area. You can add vintage mirrors along with royal upholstery in the room.

Pink and green are the perfect duo in this little girl’s bedroom. Floral fabrics and jeweled accents add an innocent and youthful feel, while still emitting a mature and grown-up style. The miniature chair and ottoman provide a cozy spot to curl up with a good book before bedtime. To inspire organization, HGTV fan ssd used white wicker containers to hold toys and accessories.

For the teenage photog, displaying favorite snaps is a source of pride that gives a space a singular uniqueness that can’t be imitated. This sweet design can be incorporated into many teen girl room ideas and serve as a centerpiece of a space. Starting with a small heart and slowly building it up is a fun and meaningful project to share with friends and family, giving the artwork that much more sentimentality. When completed, make it even more of a focal point by “framing” it with icicle lights, realizing a tangible personification of the warm glow the photos’ subjects evoke.

Even better, use sleek, contemporary built-ins for additional storage. Built-ins maximize storage while looking like they’re not even there. A good built-in around your bed creates a cozy sleeping nook while adding plenty of storage.

Children’s bedrooms should be fun, bold and playful. As a designer, I love to let my imagination run wild when working with children’s bedrooms. With a little inventiveness you can create the most wonderful spaces with unusual paint effects and bespoke joinery. Use MDF to create a built in bed in the shape of a house or teepee, section off a corner for a reading area in the shape of a castle or make the most of a tall ceiling with a mezzanine, as in the image above. Children love to have their own special space and creating a reading nook or hiding space allows them to escape into their own magical world. In the past I have designed rooms with tented ceilings, trampoline floors and a bed made from silver birch branches decorated with fairy lights. Go on – have some fun! Image Credit

Now onto Pumpkin’s room. As is glaringly obvious, we patched the holes in the walls and need to paint. This wall used to have my Grandma’s desk and at one time my treadmill. Now it has Pumpkin’s dresser and bed.

Every inch of a little princess’s room has to be decked out to perfection, and the ceiling is no exception to that rule. The fabric that hangs draped here is a great match for the decoration and an even better background for the beautiful chandelier that hangs in its center. frostedpetticoatblog.

Let’s face it, teenagers and orderly rooms are a rare combination. Messy rooms seem to be a teenager’s rite of passage. Good storage options will be the best feature they didn’t think they needed but will appreciate.

Don’t worry — we’ve got you covered. We’ve compiled some master bedroom ideas to help take your space from simply being where you sleep to your favorite room in the house. Use this resource as a guide, throw in a little of your personal style and we bet that you’ll be resting comfortably in no time.

The key to successful children’s bedroom design is clever storage. Make storage practical, accessible and easy to use, so that children have a place where everything goes. Encourage children to have an input into the colour scheme or theme, if they buy into the idea of the room from the start and have a hand in how it is planned and arranged, then they are more likely to take pride in keeping it organised and tidy. Baskets, trays, cupboards with doors and drawers are all good options. If you have the luxury of space then try to keep storage to the outer edges of the room so that children have a clearly identifiable place in which to play. Room to play in a free and unstructured way allows children to be more imaginative in their learning. Similar to a girl’s bedroom it is often best to try to develop a bedroom that he will take pleasure in for several years rather than a bedroom where he is most likely to lose interest after just a few months. While many youngsters often have preferred characters, they will likely grow out of those passions within a year at one of the most. One means to endanger on this subject is to create a bedroom that can easily expand with your child then concentrate their character passions in items that could be conveniently changed without way too much expenditure such as with window therapies, bedding and also accent items.

The bedroom is usually quite a simple room. The design and layout is far less complicated than a kitchen or bathroom, so you can put a lot of focus on the decoration, style and colours you’re using. Start by thinking about who will be using the bedroom. Is it you alone? With your partner? Your teenage children? That’ll set the tone for your style.

One of the most popular color schemes for a preteen girl’s bedroom is pink, white, and black. Take one look at the room shown here and you’ll see why: it’s the perfect blend of sophistication, innocence, and quirkiness. Stick with black and white on the flooring and the furniture, and you can easily change the theme if your daughter eventually decides she’s too old for pink.

If your bed is in the center of the wall, place your rug about 2/3 of the way under your bed so that you’ll have something soft to step on in the mornings. If your bed is in a corner, try placing the rug next to your bed or under another piece of furniture, such as your dresser.

Teens love spending time in their rooms because they feel safe and comfortable. Naturally drawn to feel-good fabrics and textures, be sure to add some touchy-feely elements in a room. Some ideas include:

Every princess needs her castle, and this pastel rainbow creation is a perfect example of how to properly install one in the bedroom. There is everything here – towers with cones at the top, sentry stations, and even a balcony, all of which help bring the fantasy to life. source.

If floor space is limited but you have higher ceilings, consider adding a loft or platform for your sleeping area with storage or seating underneath. This isn’t an option for everyone, but for those who don’t mind literally climbing into bed, this layout can completely transform a space.

There are two ways to organize a small bedroom: You can make it dark and cozy with saturated berry reds or chocolate browns. Or, you can boost daylight with barely dressed windows and a light-bouncing color on the wall, such as cloud white or sunshine yellow. Either way, don’t take a weak approach. You can be bold in a small space without risking too much money or effort.

While blue is often a go-to color for boys’ bedrooms, that doesn’t mean it’s no-girls-allowed. Take on this hue for a cool girl room idea. Whether you choose to go vibrant, pastel, or dark, use organic or floral prints, billowy window treatments, and layers of bedding to soften the look.

When it comes to children’s decor, my eye is always drawn to white, airy rooms with playful details to add warmth and colour. Jenson’s gender neutral nursery is a perfect example of this, with his sweet ladybug bedding and special wooden toys out on display. There’s space to let him play unrestricted, with stylish storage boxes to tidy away any clutter afterwards. It’s also a room that can easily grow with him for years to come. Whilst monochrome is the trend of the moment, it can be surprisingly tricky to get right. The key is to find a balance and you can do this by adding in more soft tones and textures such as wooden accents, a fun wallpaper or contrasting prints. Not only does it make the space more interesting, but it doesn’t restrict you to one overly coordinated look. This girl’s room has a cute bespoke headboard to match the shape of the round bed, studded with mismatched floral buttons for a fun, girly look. Pile high pillows in bright shades and different shapes.

A good desk is a must! This will be the centre point of a girl’s teen life! From homework and study to using as a dressing table, find a desk with drawer storage for books and supplies but also for hair care, a mirror and beauty essentials. Choosing a white desk option will suit any bedroom scheme, is low cost and easy to maintain. Personal space is so important as a teen, so add her own style in accessorising a funky chair design, a bright pattern blanket and some colourful desk tidies and that’s one cool combination of a desk and dressing table design! Give your daughter the royal treatment with a canopied four poster, and pick up on her interests, if she’s a music lover work in the theme (just don’t overkill it as kids can be notoriously prone to changing their minds!).

Bold window panels boast a flower pattern that includes lots of bright pink in this girl’s room idea. The custom coverlet’s red embroidery has a refined look that can stay with the room’s pre-kindergarten resident until she reaches college age. A queen-size bed with a custom-designed headboard fills the large area between a closet and dresser on one wall and built-in bookcases and window seats across the room.

Bedding can make or break a space, especially in a tween girl’s room where anything too cute can be too juvenile and anything too highbrow can be too adult. Instead of traditional florals, add an updated touch to a tween girl’s bedscape with overscale botanical prints.

I agree with Sarah Akwisombe’s statement. I too, enjoy having a room in dark colours because it’s super inviting and makes me want to sleep and relax. However, I am not a fan of brown colour on anything else than wood. I see that most of the pictures here portray white bedrooms… the least appropriate colour for a bedroom in my opinion.

To maximize the floor space, tuck your bed up against a wall or corner. The effect will create a sleep area that feels cozier. If it feels too much like a college dorm? Add a two headboard corner system to create a finished, designer look to a bedroom.

Carpets are the ideal choice for a young child’s room, as they will provide cushioning for little ones if they fall. Go for a colour or pattern that will hide stains – you can guarantee there will be spillages! In later years, wood-effect laminates are a good option and are affordable and easy to clean – just add a rug for a bit of warmth.
