Every room needs a focal point, an eye-catching spot that establishes a hierarchy so you don’t see just a jumble. Many times, the focal point is the head of the bed, which you can amplify with an arrangement of bold pillows. When organizing small spaces, your eye might also be attracted to the window. Rather than let these two strong elements compete for attention, place the bed in front of the window to meld cohesively. Or, dress one element—the bed or the window—neutrally, so it recedes and the other can take center stage.

Looking for a sophisticated palette that manages to be both masculine and glamorous at the same time? Then consider the combination of chocolate brown and white. Amp it up further with a small chandelier, a patterned rug and white bedding, and the result is pure splendor.

i actually like the 13th one but my sister likes the 14th. im 14 and my sister is 19 and we have to sare our room!! we have different tastes. but its hard to get to different things when you dont have enough room for it or money for it!!

Finding the space in one room for twice as much furniture and storage is one of the most daunting tasks when designing a shared room. This is where your resourcefulness and editing eye need to kick into high gear. Less is definitely more in a shared bedroom, as is multifunctional and shared design.

Well, my sister and I have been sharing bedrooms at two different homes for almost eleven years now, and my mom and stepdad are getting ready to build onto our house, which will give me my own room, of course my sister will bw gwtting a room with a door, a small closet, and one window, while I will be left with our ‘master bedroom’ so I’ll have the bathroom, a wlk in closet, and a two windows, i really want a new, cool design with pretty colors, i’de prefer no pink and purple, and a queen sized bed, though these are all wonderful ideas, my friends don’t have rooms this big, and my ceilings arent that high…do you have any ideas that might fit my room??

If you’re looking for feng shui bedroom design ideas, then consider that it’s recommended you use warm earthy colors to create a welcoming environment, or softer blues and greens to create a tranquil ambiance. Bright colors, such as girls designer bedrooms and orange, are too stimulating in huge blocks, so use them as accents around the room to brighten up the space and provide hints of passion, an important part of a romantic bedroom.

A foundation of sleek white offers a modern look for this girl’s room, while vivid sherbet green and lipstick pink add youthful personality. While a two-color scheme is simple, sometimes adding a third color can make a kid’s room sing. This also lets you incorporate a favorite, of-the-moment color. In this girl’s bedroom idea, bedding with the room’s pink and green scheme features a bit of blue, which also makes a splash on the storage boxes atop the dresser.

I’m a 14 year old girl, and I am re-doing my small bedroom. None of these (with the exception of the first one) are realistic or what I’m looking for. I hate the unoriginality of the modern rooms and the pompous air in the others.

One for the colour-shy teenage girls out there – some girls just know from the get-go that monochrome is the epitome of chic style. Apart from the lack of colour, there is nothing retiring about this bedroom though, which mixes pattern like nobody’s business to amazing effect. We are particular fans of that striped drawer unit – ideal for storing a growing wardrobe and make-up collection!

These fashionable princesses are experimenting with some floral patterns in this online dress up and design game for girls. You can help them while they create a few cute outfits that are really flowery and choose some new hairstyles, too.

The age of your daughter will largely determine what type of décor or theme you should use in the room. With a newborn, you will want to find baby girl nursery room ideas, such as a farm animal or fairy theme, that will be appropriate for many years or that can easily be altered as your daughter grows and her tastes change. Circus design or farm animal themes are good baby room ideas for girls that your daughter will not quickly out grow. They are also both gender neutral themes that can be incorporated into a shared toddler room for girls and boys. For either of these designs, you can paint the walls of the room a neutral color such as pale yellow or blue and then purchase bedding, art, curtains, wall decals, and accessories that are consistent with the theme. Wall decals and pretty girls bedding sets with pink pigs, white ducks, yellow chicks and other barnyard animals are farm-themed accessories that are inexpensive and can be easily removed or altered when your daughter is older and wants to transfer her space into a teenage bedroom.

Energetic, fun and girly (without being too sugary), this teenage girls’ bedroom is packed with saturated colour, destined to make your teen smile (even if they won’t show you that). This space has a a grown-up feel, but isn’t too serious, courtesy of certain decorative flourishes that add a whimsical finish – we’re looking at the curlicues on that chair and the light-hearted prints on the wall. The end-of-bed storage bench is ideal for hiding clutter, too.

This bedroom is striking to me. It surprises you…such a delicate balance of masculine and feminine. You can’t help but to appreciate the subtle design elements reflected within the context of this modern Asian-inspired scale and colour scheme ~ the mysteriousness of the asymmetrical bookcase, the delicateness in how the objects are placed, and the luxurious feel the dark-on-light furniture gives. I get a sense of warmth but refreshed at the same time. Finally, the artwork chosen seals the sentiment of this overall design composition. Simply put, I love it. Image credit

Can this possibly be the perfect bedroom? Let’s talk about the colour. This bedroom has the ever so popular grey wall. It’s modernised by adding a touch of yet another grey that has the slightest hint of a muted lavender. It’s pleasing to both men and women because this colour palette falls right smack in the middle of the appeal for both sexes. The black adds a nice masculinity and grounding to the room shown in the strong stripe of the area rug and gorgeous texture in the frames. The hard lines of the end tables are softened by soft white fabrics and an undulated headboard which add femininity to this space. Sleepy yet? Image credit

Every girl dreams of being a princess, at least at some point of their lives. But while princesses are real, fairytales aren’t and little girls can’t really go live “in a land far, far away”. Or can they?

i’m 13 and really dont like any of them some are really childish because teens want there bedrooms to look older by the way i’m not being rude its just what i think and the rest are just horrid yuck ew

Bedding can make or break a space, especially in a tween girl’s room where anything too cute can be too juvenile and anything too highbrow can be too adult. Instead of traditional florals, add an updated touch to a tween girl’s bedscape with overscale botanical prints.

Vintage vanity is on the list for Squiggles’ room. I like the color of this one: Fresh coat of paint on vanity and recovering with a fun Amy Butler coral/orange print. Love keeping the furniture that I grew up with and giving it new life for Ava’s room.

Young adults are hard to please so give them lots of input. Provide plenty of storage so there’s no excuse for mess, and make sure they have a good study area. Invest in a trundle bed for those sleepover parties, and let them keep their favourite accessories on display in mounted box shelves.

Both rooms look great. As the younger of two, I don’t think I had first choice ever. When I was still living with my parents after college, they added on to the house and again my brother got first choice but because he drug his feet, I got the space by default. I was all moved in in a day. lol I’m sure your girls will love their spaces and truly make it their own.

Weathered shutters add a touch of shabby chic flair to this cozy gray and white bedroom from Décor Gold Designs. It’s easy to work a vintage vibe into even a small bedroom – use an antique chest as a nightstand or footboard, set an old door in place of a headboard, or adorn your walls with framed vintage embroidered handkerchiefs, maps or botanical designs.

While it’s generally true that oversize furniture doesn’t work in a small room, there are always exceptions. For example, the canopy bed here is nearly as large as the tiny bedroom, but instead of cramped, the space looks perfect. The secret is in the clean, simple lines of the bed, along with its color – white – matching the walls to eliminate contrast.

DIY Very Girly Beauty Station: This pretty bin is very easy and quick to make in a few steps. It makes a great storage solution for beauty products in a teen girl’s bedroom. Get the tutorial via tatertots and jello.

Before buying furniture for your bedroom, you need to decide some factors like wall colour, or bedroom wallpaper, and the type of flooring that you want. Try to choose a colour that will help you create a calm atmosphere and also compliment well with your bedroom furniture. The lighting needs to be chosen wisely as well because a very bright bedroom is not soothing enough, whereas a room with insufficient lighting will hinder activities such as bedtime reading. Accessories add the perfect finishing touch to bedroom designs. For example, soft furnishings add comfort, style and colour whereas beautiful cashmere throws are luxurious and warm. Scented candles add a nice touch and woven baskets provide storage and work well with natural, rustic and eclectic styles. You can also use wallpaper to work with the size and shape of your room, for example, striped wallpaper can make walls look taller, or rooms appear wider, which is particularly good for small rooms.

All the square footage in the world won’t make a difference if it’s crowded with stuff. “Another trick that won’t cost you any money is to keep your room clean,” he says. “You can still accessorize like you would a larger room, but keeping out the unnecessary clutter is a no-brainer.”

As a teenage girl, I can honestly say that the only two rooms which appeal to me in any way are the tenth one and the last one. The rest look like a marshmallow vomited on them. Stereotypical and kinda disgusting.

Banqueta de Osborne & Little.

¡No fallarás!

Amarillo fuerte y blanco, amarillo suave y naranja vivo, amarillo suave y azul suave, amarillo y verde.

Pom-poms, polka dots, bunting and crochet might sound like a little too much to have all in one space, but treated right and these fun prints, patterns and textures can create a bright and brilliant bedroom for a teenage girl. Balance warm orange and yellow tones with pale blues and expanses of white, if you don’t want it to feel overwhelming. However, it’s an ideal space to let your teen play with design options.

Today’s teenagers are design-conscious and up to date on the latest trends. But they’re torn between childhood and adulthood. Most teens have beloved toys they’re not ready to give up, but look for a room that’s older and more sophisticated than their childhood room.

While adults prefer a space that’s calm and understated, teens appreciate vibrantly colored, high energy rooms. The wall is the biggest area you can work with in a bedroom. Some of the best teen bedroom ideas involve the walls. Here are our favorite:

This is the guest bedroom at a client’s penthouse in the centre of Barcelona. I love the colour scheme and all the fabrics used. It feels like you’re on a holiday in a beautiful hotel when you’re in this bedroom. It has an en-suite with a double shower so that you can shower at the same time as your partner, I thought this would be romantic. The velvet, the suede, the silk, the divine fabrics and tones used in this bedroom are an entire world of calming, soothing, touchy feely goodness. It’s also a deluxe combination. To me It’s a winner. Image credit

Most people want their bedroom to be a soothing, restorative retreat. If that’s your goal, then consider green and white for your palette. Add in botanical touches in the bedding, as in the room from Viscusi Elson Interior Design shown here, along with a showstopper sunburst mirror, stylish Roman shades, and cottage-casual white furniture, and the result is a room that calms your mind and refreshes your senses. Beautiful.

These are way too overboard. I mean who has money to do all this. I personally do not like any of them. Some are too girly whille others are just plain ew. Put something that could possibly be real please.

Of course, the first textiles that spring to mind are the bedding. But don’t just settle for any set. Layer cheap beds for girls materials — think down, silk and shearling — to create a space that you never want to leave. Then, warm up the rest of the room by putting down a throw rug or adding a blanket to your seating area.

Try a dark wall color for bold bedroom update. Dark walls create an intimate and inviting feeling in a room. They are great for living rooms, libraries, dining rooms and bedrooms. When you use a dark color on the walls, keep the floor and ceiling finishes lighter. The deep berry wall color in this bedroom highlights the bed, making it the focus of the room. Add some throw pillows in a similar color to complete the look.

This may seem obvious, but ditch the king-size (or even queen) bed and use space-saving furniture. If storage space is an issue, under-bed storage containers such as this one can free up a lot of space.

Most of these rooms are okay, but none of them gave me any idea wse on how to redecorate my room. First of all, every single one f these rooms are way bigger then mine. Second of all, who has that kind of money to buy all that expencive looking furnishing?

Here is a unique decoration idea for your room; place your desk and chair in front of a window and hang some colorful curtains around your little in-room getaway. Preferably, add some drawers and cabinets, so you can keep your things tucked away. You can use this corner to get over with your assignments and homework.

Wall colors for Ems room – I’m thinking of aqua walls, black furniture and a black/white bed spread. Oh, and my bed is white, and the closet doors and bedroom door will be white. I’m thinking it will work, after seeing this room.

I love the cool, calm feeling of interior stylist Pella Hedeby’s bedroom, with its abundance of natural light, crisp white linens and beautiful monochrome accents. The cladding on the wall behind the end offers the perfect framed display units for artwork and scented candles, and I always love a low console table at the foot of the bed for displaying coffee table books and keeping rows of footwear organised. In the process of designing your girl’s bedroom? Be sure not to miss two Maisons Du Monde essentials: girl’s bed linen and girl’s bedroom storage.

When it comes to bedroom decorating ideas, your options are endless. When nailing down your bedroom design, it’s helpful to start by tackling the more permanent things, like furniture. Artwork and photographs that put you at ease are a great addition (although some advise against having family photos around, as they can hinder that “sexy bedroom” vibe), and mirrors are a must-have if you use the space for dressing. When considering bedroom ideas, bedding is always important — your duvet and decorative pillows should play nicely with the paint color and bedroom wall decor, but can also be swapped out easily, which makes it easy to incorporate an interesting print or texture. Lastly, add some accessories to style your nightstand or dresser; just be careful not to go overboard — too many knickknacks can make your room feel cluttered and disorganized, which can actually cause sleep trouble. If you keep these bedroom decorating ideas and color considerations in mind you should be well on your way to creating the perfect bedroom design.

Regardless of the paint color, it seems to be a rite of passage to plaster tween and teen walls with posters, pennants and other mishmash items. But tacks, staples and tape can wreak havoc on paint and drywall, and all of the visual details can feel chaotic. Solution: Designate certain walls as collage walls and put up large-scale bulletin boards, burlap-covered foam core or cork tiles (available in hardware and art supply stores) to protect the underlying walls and create areas where anything goes.

My belief is that a bedroom should be clean and simple. We spend so much time in our bedrooms trying to unwind from the day. That’s why we should create a serene space for ourselves. This bedroom is both serene and cool. The black and white palette proves that you don’t have to have a lot of colour to stand out. Image credit

When decorating small bedrooms, every square inch is potential storage. Sure, you can stash sweater boxes under the bed, but if you boost the bed frame on blocks and add a voluminous skirt, you can hide a set of luggage under there. Place a storage ottoman under the window to hold extra bedding. Use a chest as a bedside table to gain drawer space. When it comes to organizing a small bedroom, make the most of your closet with an organizer system. And look for wall space where you can hang a bookshelf.

You guys, this post has been a long time in making it onto the blog. It goes back to March to be exact. A bit over 4 months ago, we moved our girls rooms around. I’ve got tons of pictures for you today. I’m hoping you enjoy them and that maybe they can give you some girls bedroom ideas for your own house.

Bedrooms should be calming and seductive spaces, and this bedroom ticks both those boxes.  It has a calming, neutral pallet that is kept interesting through a mix of textures – wooden floors and ceiling, the white-painted brick wall, a sisal rug, a glamorous fur throw, and the marble bedside table.  The painted black wall adds another layer of luxury and glamour to this space, but the large, simple artwork keeps it from being too dark.  Interest to this monotone colour scheme is also brought in through the architectural style of lighting, and the pattern in the cushions.  All in all a perfect combination! Image credit

A rainbow of bright hues shines through this room and touches everything from pillows to walls. When using a strong palette of colors, repeat a particular element to create a sharp look. In this room, circles take the leading role, appearing on bedding, walls, the rug, and artwork. Also use a neutral color, such as white, for furniture, to soften bold colors.

A bank of windows frames a pretty picket-fence bed. Surrounded by colorful curtains, the bed is the room’s focal point. Sunlight streams in to illuminate the space, but heavy curtains can be drawn to block out the light for nap time. Although a double bed might look oversized now, it will accommodate a growing child in later years, making it a strategic long-term investment.

Brighten up a neutral children’s room with splashes of colour. Chunky pink letters are mounted on the wall and delicate butterflies hang from the ceiling, giving the scheme an extra girly touch. Keep clutter to a minimum with a storage unit in playful colours.

Most of the time, a small bedroom means an equally small closet. A great solution to this common concern is incorporating built-in storage around the head of the bed, as in this serene space designed by ever after high bedroom for girls Ebert of Normandy Remodeling. If built-ins aren’t an option, look for bookcases that fit in the space instead.

Last but not least I show you how to make a pretty pom pom flowers in a jar vase. This is such a cute decoration idea for your desk or a night stand… because who doesn’t want to have a beautiful flower bouquet in their room all year around?

If you choose to decorate your bedroom with one hue, be sure to vary the shades to create a calming vibe. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns (florals and stripes live well together) to add visual interest.

I have chosen this image because, as a Mum of 3-year-old boy and girl twins, this is such a great example of how to style a shared bedroom. Not only do the colours complement each other so well, but the room looks matched, even though it is for both sexes. The shelving is perfect for storing toys and books, and they can accessorize it with their own items. I am drawn to the simplicity of the design, and contemporary style especially as we now live in a modern new build home. My tips for styling a twins’ shared room is to keep it simple, use colour schemes that complement each other and involve the children in the process – as they usually like to have a say in what they prefer! girls teen red country bedroom decor ideas decorated girls room

I’m a 14 year old girl, and I am re-doing my small bedroom. None of these (with the exception of the first one) are realistic or what I’m looking for. I hate the unoriginality of the modern rooms and the pompous air in the others.

Many little girl’s bedroom themes can be loud or trendy rather than timeless. If you’d rather avoid them, look for more subtle ways to incorporate a child’s interests or hobbies. For a ballet enthusiast, dress the room in shades of pink, plenty of ruffles, and a few nods to her passion, such as a display of tutus and a piece of art, rather than a whole ballet-slipper bedding set and suite of accessories.

Give the structured canopy bed a bohemian update with a more relaxed approach that’s ideal for a teen girls bedroom. White walls and dark wooden furniture offer a neutral base for ethnic-print blinds, bed linen and a makeshift canopy draped over two ceiling-hung poles. A fresh blue or forget-me-not hued base draws together the varied prints, while a spearmint green reading lamp beside the bed freshens the relaxed, deconstructed look.

To make what was a juvenile, childish girl’s room more appropriate for a growing tween, its walls were painted a deep shade of violet, album cover-inspired art was hung to create a focal point, vintage lighting was installed on the ceilings and the walls, and women’s fashion fabrics were used in upholstered accents.

Unless you have a budget that permits new furniture every few years, you’ll want to choose a bedroom set that grows up with your daughter. The room shown here is delightful now — what young girl wouldn’t love all the polka dots and the wonderful dog poster?  — but the basic white furniture will have no problem handling a more mature palette, bedding, and accessories when the teen years arrive.

I love every ideas you have shared over here. The style and design were so perfect and very inspiring. I am so happy I stumbled on your blog because you inspire me a lot. I can apply ideas I learned on my next  home decorating ideas project. Thank you for sharing this wonderful post.

Fresh, fun, colourful and cool – this bedroom has teenage girl’s decorating style down. The ice-white walls and painted wooden floor are the perfect base for a mad mix of patterns and textures across wall art, floor coverings and bed linen. But there’s nothing overwhelming about this space – it’s just young and playful, like the teen girl it’s designed for.

When it comes to luxurious comfort, you can’t beat a padded headboard wrapped in quality fabric. This plush, tufted headboard adorned with rhinestones was made by H-Studio. See the rest of this dream bedroom suite.

I actuallly really like these rooms, there really neat. But in case you havn’t noticed alot of teen girls(or at least the ones i know), aren’t exactly up there on the money scale. i mean there not broke, but they cant go buy stuff like this for an affordable price. And usually the ones who can, well they dont use the internet for there bedroom ideas. They probably use the months top teen room magazine or somthing like that.lol I’m just saying, the girls that actually use this site for ideas probably wouldnt be able to use this stuff. Maybey a more realistic list of teen room would be better for our use. Besides real talent is making your room look amazing with a small bugdet. Being creative!

We love this look because of the fresh take on what could potentially be a period interior. The yellow wall brings it bang up-to-date, freshening the space and bringing the whole room to life. The antique touches of mismatched frames, the oversized wooden bed, stripped back floorboards and the old chandelier contrast perfectly with the statement wall giving it oodles of character. The picture rail breaks up the room giving it plenty of height but the patchwork quilt, rug and cushions keep the room cosy. Image credit

Be bold with pattern mixing in a little girl’s bedroom accessories to create a space with youthful energy. Like in other rooms, keep scale in mind and mix large, small, and medium-scale patterns to achieve balance. In a shared bedroom, repeat the same patterns from bed to bed and create a symmetrical setup.

This simple platform bed welcomes guests with cozy organic linens. The natural feel is enhanced by a tree trunk bedside table, lots of natural light streaming through large windows, and a door that leads to the back patio.

Your bedroom is the place you go to relax and escape everyday life. When designed correctly, bedrooms are soothing sanctuaries full of cozy bedding and peaceful decor that make you feel both happy and calm. The elementary-school years… they’re a delight. No longer an infant or toddler requiring middle-of-the-night care, but not yet a teen with a girls teen country bedroom decor ideas attitude, the elementary-age child, for the most part, is full of fun, love and whimsy.

What fun to see into your girls room! It will also be fun to see the progress you make in them. Maybe you could of had the girls toss a coin over the large room. Leaving it up to chance then dissolves any bitterness towards a parent who made the calll. I heard this parenting advice years ago and it works great in situations like this where there seems to be no right answer. I might add though firstborn children had a special inheritance in bible days. They are the “first fruit” from the womb and God treats them a bit differently. You may want to look it up, it is a bit hard for me to explain. Just so you know I am a middle child, so I have those issues! I am a mom of 4 boys so I know it is hard to treat them equally, and also realize they are different! We have an en-suite bedroom with a bathroom which my oldest used until he moved away from college. Then my 2nd oldest moved in and will be there until he moves out. And so on it will go. It works for us! Have a lovely weekend!

I was drawn to this space initially because of the use of pattern and colour in the cushions.  The navy blue and mustard hues are an intriguing but very complementary pairing; with the pattern visually lifting the entire space.  The warmth of the earthy tone-on-tone colour palette has soothing atmospheric qualities: perfect for a bedroom.  But the showstopper is the seamless incorporation of industrial inspired design via the vintage wall lighting.  An excellent illustration of how urban styling can be blended into a space without appearing too harsh or cold. Take a decorating tip from Lisa Teague Studios, and create interest in your small room by placing your bed at a slight diagonal. It’s even better when a pretty folding screen takes the place of a traditional headboard; the screen acts as a focal point for the room, drawing the eye upwards to increase the visual size of the space. Another use for a folding screen in the bedroom is as a privacy barrier around the bed. This is especially good in a studio apartment, or in a shared children’s…MORE bedroom.

Gray’s sedate vibe makes it especially good for the bedroom. But when decorating with gray, be sure to add plenty of interest to keep the look lovely, not grim. Take a few tips from the gorgeous room from Jean Stephane Beauchamp Design shown here; a strong area rug, an intriguing ceiling fixture, a luxurious velvet upholstered headboard, and a touch of fun in the skull-adorned throw pillow guarantee that this entirely-gray-and-white master bedroom is anything but boring.

Decorating a young boy’s bedroom can in some cases be deemed somewhat of an obstacle; nonetheless, when broken down right into segments decorating a kid’s bedroom can be equally as intriguing as well as very easy as decorating a girl’s bedroom.

i actually like the 13th one but my sister likes the 14th. im 14 and my sister is 19 and we have to sare our room!! we have different tastes. but its hard to get to different things when you dont have enough room for it or money for it!!

The choice of bed in a girl’s room could normally aid to create the focal point for the space. When choosing a bed, it is typically best to consider a bed as well as head board that can grow with the youngster. There are a variety of means to do this. A canopy bed, for example, can conveniently be equipped with soft draperies that are ideal for a more youthful girl and afterwards updated with something elder as she gets older. Twin head boards, consisting of timber headboards and also functioned iron head boards, are additionally examples of furnishing pieces that could grow with the age of the youngster when incorporated with age ideal bed linen choices.

I’m a huge fan of simple and functional Scandinavian style with a monochrome and neutral colour palette. This bedroom is quite minimalist, but at the same time has everything you need to relax. I prefer all white bedding (linen bedding is my favourite!) which is in this bedroom combined with some black pillowcases to add contrast against the white wall. I love to bring some warmth into the monochrome interior by adding natural materials (like wood) and also green plants – both of which have been used in this bedroom. Image credit

Keeping the walls white in a girl’s bedroom will give you more decorating flexibility, which will help keep up with her constantly changing style. Have fun mixing and matching: Combine pink and red and introduce graphic prints and florals.

If you are a kind of girly girl, and you love to have your room dominated in pink, but don’t want it to look childish you can add an adult edge by having your focal wall in darker colors and then provide your room with pink stuff . That will give you the pinkish domination you want in your room, and it will not look childish at the same time, so you get the best of both worlds.

As a baseline, selecting streamlined furniture is essential to keep the room feeling as spacious as possible and allow for storage and playing. If your kids are old enough, bunk beds are always an excellent choice. Whether L-shaped or vertical, a bunk bed is an efficient use of space and oftentimes has built-in storage underneath.

I DIE FOR THIS QUOTE! Will be doing this if my next little one is a girl! This is quite a spectacular room.for a small space! Any cool quote would work. (Nothing is Impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’– Audrey Hepburn)

Plush carpets work well for bedrooms. Although they offer comfort and luxury, carpets are dust traps and have to be cleaned regularly. Stains can be difficult to remove and they are not durable as hardwood floors. If you choose to use hardwood flooring, be sure to invest in good quality area rugs as they can help to soften the look of the bedroom and add warmth. Tiles are another option, and work well in hot climate regions, as they help to keep the place cool. Vinyl and laminate flooring are also options worth considering for the bedroom.

Prior to this tween girl’s bedroom redesign, the walls were covered in bright lilac paint, which gave it more of a little girl’s identity. In order to make it cool enough for a tween yet classic enough for parents, the space would be painted a dark shade of violet, the dated wall-to-wall carpet would be replaced with gray-toned vinyl plank flooring and the childish furniture would be swapped out for colorful vintage pieces.

This blend of pink and purple is perfect for little girl’s bedroom colors that will grow with the child. Give the feminine shades a unique twist with thoughtful application. Pair it with soft neutrals and hints of periwinkle for a classic-meets-glam vibe. This room’s lavender walls, window treatments, and throw pillows work well for a teen, and later on it can suit a guest room. The classic furniture pieces suit either purpose, and simple switches can introduce more subdued accent colors.

It’s already been said – you just can’t not decorate the ceiling of a princess’s room. A canopy is a classic that never goes out of style, and installing it in the ceiling adds that magical touch while also making optimal use of the space available. addisonswonderland.

Artfully display classic toys to soften the look of a neutral room and add soft furnishings such as small armchairs to delineate a play space. Create useful additional storage by adding shelves to a redundant fireplace.

Great read! I spent minutes reading your blog and I’m quite amazed of your ideas, I hope you could share us a video tutorial for beginners, my apartment really needs this tips but don’t know how to start.

If you’re in the market for a new bed, consider a bed with drawers underneath for extra storage. If space is so limited that drawers may not open easily, use decorative bins under your bed for additional storage. We love milk crates and other woven baskets that hold up well and look great doing it.

Create the illusion of a taller room by hanging curtains higher. Install rods close to the ceiling and hang long curtains that stretch all the way down to the floor. Helpful Hint: Make the windows look larger by hanging a rod that is much wider than the window. Then, arrange curtains so they cover just a small bit of the window frame and a large portion of the wall on either side. Photo courtesy of Layla Palmer.

For those looking for a master bedroom ideas to create an oasis, consider adding a sitting room, master bathroom and walk-in closet. Create your own personal reading nook by adding a relaxing chaise lounge or sofa. In your master bedroom suite you can even have a fireplace, wet bar or coffee bar for cold winter nights and chilly mornings. Finally, ensure you get time in the bathroom every morning by installing one just for you. You can add a relaxing bathtub and makeup vanity for a complete getaway from it all, and also incorporate a good-sized closet in your master bedroom design.

It’s hard to believe that this is the same room in the same house. Black and white horizontal stripes elongate the sweet space, giving a greater sense of width. With a cute little crib and star-studded ceiling, we imagine that Benjamin, now two, is sleeping just fine.

I wish I had designed this room – I love everything about it. The bleached natural pine floorboards and tall white walls are a perfect canvas for those pretty vintage pieces and more colourful toys. With a restrained colour palette like this, a child’s room always look stylish, no matter how messy it is. I love kids’ rooms that aren’t filled with matching furniture sets from children’s ranges. Finding meaningful, beautiful pieces gives kids’ rooms personality – it takes time, but this is how the best interiors develop, organically. Quirky details such as the hat collection add fun, whilst the unexpectedly small and contrasting orange pendant adds punch to this calm monochrome scheme. Look to your attic for space to grow, like in this little girl’s bedroom design. If a remodel is involved, tailor the basics of the room to suit your home’s style. For example, if you have a farmhouse, use warm, rustic wood on the walls and floor. That way, the space will blend seamlessly with the rest of the home should it be used for another purpose down the road.

If floor space is limited but you have higher ceilings, consider adding a loft or platform for your sleeping area with storage or seating underneath. This isn’t an option for everyone, but for those who don’t mind literally climbing into bed, this layout can completely transform a space.

The bedroom is a place when you should be able to relax, rest and sleep well. The space therefore should be simple, clean and uncluttered. Ban all the unnecessary items and focus on the essentials – comfy pillows, soft bedding, good light for reading, and small bedside table to keep your books and water carafe. Create a space where you can rest your eyes and calm your mind, and it means white walls and no busy patterns. I am drawn to this bedroom because of the colour palette – all in soft brown tones. There is a feeling of calm and the crumpled linen looks very inviting. The only decoration it needs is a single artwork on the wall. The beauty here is in simplicity. Image credit

the rooms look great, can’t wait to see them all finished. Good for inspiration for my daughters room, we moved house about 3 months ago and her room is still very much a work in progress. We have the wallpaper and all the furniture, just need to get busy with the actual decoration. You have really maximized the space in the wardrobe, I may just have to steal that idea for miss 8’s room, thanks for sharing.

I’m the oldest girl and got the smallest room. However, it was the most private and I could easily come and go without disturbing anyone, even my light sleeping mother. I was also the only kid ever remotely responsible enough to have that room. I did cross country in fall, speech and debate in winter, and soccer in spring, plus theatre when possible. I was out early in the mornings (most, I went running at 5 am) and had nights getting home at 11:30 or later. Granted, my room was navy and black. Yes, it was a dark pit.

I’m interested in function and beauty in my room; not space age cubicles with a splash of color here and there. Please include rooms that are actually realistic and comfortable. I don’t understand this obsession with doctor’s office style bedrooms…

Yes, even if your bedroom is small, you can still have a wow-inducing accent wall, as proven so strikingly here by Décor Gold Designs. Bold wallpaper has a place even in the tiniest of rooms. Just stick with one wall – preferably the one at the head of your bed – and keep the rest of the room sedate in terms of color and pattern.

When it was time for our toddler to upgrade to his “Big Boy Bedroom” I knew I wanted to design something which would be able to grow with him over the years. The basis of the room is classic stars and stripes, which means we can mix up the accessories as his tastes change. Taking inspiration from our travels around America and their comic book stores we used bright red as an accent colour against greys and whites. Comic covers from our special dates; birthdays, anniversaries etc. hang on the walls next to handmade comic book bunting, framed posters and Superhero silhouettes, with lighting and canopies creating a cosy feel. Super storage solutions hide all manner of clutter and provide a great display area for favourite toys and books.

While pretty is important, practicality is also a must. White furniture can remain in the room through all stages of childhood. Bedding, accessories, and paint colors can easily be changed as tastes go from little girl to teen. The many storage options, such as built-in cabinets and nightstands, can readily go from holding dolls to fashion magazines and makeup.

Jewel tones are excellent choices for tween decor since they evoke femininity as well as a sense of glamour. Consider adding touches of gold in an up-to-date manner with satin brass hardware. Much more subdued than polished brass, the satin finish is soft and refined, and works especially well with colors such as purple, green, red and turquoise.

Pink and green are the perfect duo in this little girl’s bedroom. Floral fabrics and jeweled accents add an innocent and youthful feel, while still emitting a mature and grown-up style. The miniature chair and ottoman provide a cozy spot to curl up with a good book before bedtime. To inspire organization, HGTV fan ssd used white wicker containers to hold toys and accessories.

Be smart about storage when decorating a small bedroom. Employ a nightstand with drawers and shelves and install a floating shelf above for extra storage in a small bedroom. Consider room organizers for small rooms for maximum clutter control.

Here’s a small bedroom idea with staying power: Hang window treatments closer to the ceiling to make a room feel taller. Don’t believe us? Have a partner hold up curtains to give it a try. It’s amazing to see the instant change such a small fix can make.

If you’re looking for feng shui bedroom design ideas, then consider that it’s recommended you use warm earthy colors to create a welcoming environment, or softer blues and greens to create a tranquil ambiance. Bright colors, such as fuchsia and orange, are too stimulating in huge blocks, so use them as accents around the room to brighten up the space and provide hints of passion, an important part of a romantic bedroom.

Bedroom Ideas – Bedroom decor could usually be one location that is often overlooked or a minimum of postpone up until a later time because it is not one of the public locations within the home. Despite whether others have the tendency to see our bedrooms or otherwise, it is still important to give some idea and also consideration to intending the design of your bedroom. A bedroom needs to be a room that acts as a comfy hideaway, a place where you could relax when you are worn down, a vacation from the rest of the globe and also an area that provides a look right into your very own character.

Making the most of the vertical space in a small bedroom is an excellent way to keep things neat and organized. Floating shelves will hold a multitude of books and magazines. The right girl’s room decor grows with your child and calls for creativity and clever planning. Keep life simple by leaving your girl’s bedroom colors and furniture bright and white. The neutral backdrop will blend effortlessly with any number of solids and patterns on bedding and other decor. Plus, the natural light bounces off the walls brightening the room even more. As a bonus, clean white walls keep this attic bedroom from looking cramped and tiny.

Their rooms are still a huge work in progress. In fact, we did our big trip to IKEA, moved their rooms and then haven’t done anything since. As you will see in the pictures, there is still quite a bit of work to do.

Beautiful.

Tween girls are known for taking a major interest in fashion. Play up the runway by using fashion fabrics for her room’s upholstery. While this pair of Louis armchairs is upholstered in violet velvet, it’s made fresh with pillows sewn from women’s dress fabric in a flame-stitch pattern.

Personally I like a child’s room not to have a theme, instead adding decorative touches, so that they can grow with the room. I tend to always steer towards bright pastels and pattern for children, I think it brightens a room and makes them feel clean but cool at the same time. The photo shows a beautiful bedroom for a little girl. I love how it is totally neutral whilst colourful – this room could happily be for a girl or boy of any age. My top picks for a children’s room would always be second-hand furniture painted in beautiful colours, bright simple bed linen, key timeless decorative pieces that can be passed down, photos or artwork to reflect their personalities and loads of storage. THANKS for all our sharp photos of moving your 2 girls from 1 shared bedroom to 2… meaning each has her OWN BEDROOM! Like you mentioned, painting walls, decorating & new bedding for both bedrooms later. I like the look of the white IKEA dresser, so clean & simple/modern. In addition the TROFAST system from IKEA is FAB! What I really like are the “wash me!” woven basket for laundry! THANKS FOR SHARING. This year we decided to give our bedroom a mini makeover. Sometimes a theme wall can do the trick as is the case here where Farrow & Ball’s Dix Blue was used as the background. The room feels light and airy and I won’t deny it, feminine too. The tall headboard of the upholstered bed and the brass accessories give it a luxurious look that is always a pleasure to come back to.

I love the diversity in this post. You can find inspiration for everything – from cosy and snuggly bedrooms to dark and mysterious ones. Especially liked the one with the wall mural, feels like sleeping in the forest, out in the fresh and crisp air. I remember seeing a similar design but with rain clouds. I think natural wall murals bring peace and serenity to the bedroom.

You can create a great view by adding several shelves to your wall, and avoid making them all aligned to each other and equal in size, instead, add a large one and then several smaller ones above. That would help create a nice view to your walls, especially if they are colored. These shelves will also give you a nice space on which you can organize your books, artwork, and little girly stuff.
